Service says $22k for new battery on 2012 Model S

This was never actually offered. I asked very soon after the announcement. No response thus far.

Service says $22k for new battery on 2012 Model S

Was it an option to opt for 100 kWh replacement? (Did you ask?) Thanks.

    Tesla Owners API v3 enabled

My C# logger previously had custom code for authentication. When it stopped working due to the Tesla-side changes, I started updating and got annoyed (and bored) so I switched to TeslaAuth. https://www.nuget.org/packages/TeslaAuth In the past I've had good luck using .NET packages with...

    New Construction Solar Roof?

@Markm287 @gigawatt1010 We may try going the same route (new construction with Tesla Solar Roof). If you have any Tesla or 3rd party contacts that would be useful as we start the conversation with Tesla and home builders in WA state. Please PM whatever you think might be useful. Thanks in advance.

    Solar Roof, big price increase

It would be tempting to park a (non-Tesla) vehicle at the end of the driveway and (1) bill them for driveway rental and (2) bill them when they ask to remove the materials. "The rental price of my driveway went up. Property taxes and such."

    Solar Roof, big price increase

I do, too. But not if it turns into a company that is not worthy of customer trust. Honoring an existing contract is not "special" treatment. It's the proper way of doing business.

Supercharging Speeds: Who, what, where, why, and when

Good to see @wk057 active on the forum. (I've been mostly off myself lately.)

    Model S REST API

Stage 1 is slow but seems to be finally working. Stage 2 is giving me the connection closed issue. I'm trying switching to the TeslaAuth nuget package, but it's failing as well. It's starting to feel like I may be better off seeing a full Fiddler trace of a valid interaction rather than...

    Model S REST API

Update: Well that's interesting. My latest change adjusted the base64 encoding code_challenge to be "url friendly" and suddenly I'm getting html back instead of non-response. FYI for others that run into this. Update: Well. It worked once. Timing out again on 2nd+ attempts. Sigh.

    Model S REST API

Step 1 just seems to time out for me no matter what I throw at it. Using C#. Postman requires a login now so I haven't looked at Joe's sample yet.

I didn't catch that nuance in the conference call phrasing. I'll have to listen again.

    New 2021 Model S Unveiled January 27, 2021

Thanks! And one more question... Where do they have the info about Air Suspension (and Track Mode for S?) on the web site these days?
  14. brianman

    New 2021 Model S Unveiled January 27, 2021

Interestingly I had the reverse situation. When I had an S before, I always had stuff without a home. With my current 3, the available pockets are mostly empty.

    New 2021 Model S Unveiled January 27, 2021

There's a long list of S features here: Tesla Reveals Refreshed Model S Plaid: Production Starts In Q1 2021 (insideevs.com) I couldn't find that list on Tesla's site. For example, I wanted to see how they described the purported Ventilated Seats return.

    New 2021 Model S Unveiled January 27, 2021

Incorrect on the last point. On the Order page, the "FEATURE DETAILS" which is different from the "Feature Details", it lists:

Track report - I need a bigger battery, cooling and brakes were fine

Haven't heard anything. :( During the construction, they said they intended to reinstall them but since construction somewhat completed then radio silence.

    Seattle Solar Roof timing

We're not "there yet" for solar roof but it's on our radar. We have a flat roof (with solar panels and battery backup installed in 2014) and intend to "unflatten it", which would include adding crawl space an insulation as well as ducts for A/C and heat, and replacing the existing solar +...

My REST stuff died a few days ago (i.e. no data in October at all for me). Dunno if it's server-side or not yet. :(

Track report - I need a bigger battery, cooling and brakes were fine

I went with the recommendations from AR Motorports (AR Motorsports). Did some brief street driving last night. The r5c0 front r3c0 rear felt much better on street than 9r3c did. Wife hasn't ridden and commented yet.

Track report - I need a bigger battery, cooling and brakes were fine

I don't see how to order a Model 3 with newer battery tech there. (Or S for that matter.)
  26. brianman

Track report - I need a bigger battery, cooling and brakes were fine

Details... Did some adjustments today* for street driving comfort (hopefully). Turns out the "9r3c all around" wasn't strictly true; some of the Rs were 8 or 10 and one of the Cs was 2. * Eddie @ AR recommended R5C0 front and R3C0 rear. Adjustments completed, drive pending. :)

Track report - I need a bigger battery, cooling and brakes were fine

Tires (after a few events actually) have fared much better with the suspension + lowering. (That was the original motivator for doing any suspension work at all.) And the brake lines definitely have helped the brake fluid issue. No in-car messages about brake heat all weekend.

Track report - I need a bigger battery, cooling and brakes were fine

Haven't been able to get out much in the COVID era, but I managed to make it to The Ridge Motorsports Park (Shelton, WA) yesterday. Open lapping combined with a new-to-me supercharger location (Tumwater) was a big improvement. My 100% rated is 288 mi. Weather report was 55-60 F cloudy in the...

That seems like a bad idea. Maybe just change the radio to the oldies station and bounce the volume between 1 and 5 every few seconds. At least that way, drivers around her aren't impacted directly.

    Model S Plaid

What I heard was 2023. The Plaid starts deliveries in 2021. That suggest to me it (2021 S Plaid) won't have the new cells or new structure changes.
  34. brianman

    Model S Plaid

I wish I could find tesla.com pages that detail the differences on Plaid. Specifics on the motors, cooling, suspension, Track Mode?, etc. I haven't had much luck yet. The design studio has it and the total price is roughly in the same ballpark as my P100D was at the end of 2016 -- which is a...

Elon Puts His Foot In His Mouth Again

No. If he (or his minions) could crack that nut, I'd rather they spend that medical mojo on creating a vaccine. No. I do wish J.B. could take the reigns until Elon can go 2 months straight without making a public statement (including tweets) that's offensive to at least 10% of the global...

Elon Puts His Foot In His Mouth Again

If it wasn't for, say, in-person interviews with Joe Rogan it might be easy to think it's a smear campaign including hijaaking of his Twitter accounts. There's really a bizarro Superman thing going on here. Is there a "sympathy crazy" for men with recently pregnant wives or something? Or is...

Delivery Rejection - At least 18 issues found

Can you share your list? Without that it's hard for others to effectively comment on whether those issues are being seen by others. Additionally, those taking delivery after you might benefit from knowing some "recent problem areas" in Tesla's current production lines.

Will Cybertruck charge by Megacharger or Supercharger? Both?

2020.8.1 Another useless update for most of us

You opened a thread with "[update] with absolutely NOTHING of value unless you have [a configuration I don't have]". Not a good way to open a discussion, especially since the specific example was incorrect.
  46. brianman

What track mode setting are you using?

Is this your opinion or is this documented somewhere? With 25/75 @ 0 stability, it didn't feel at all like "normal nannies" with Autocross for me.
