    Charge with 120v DC solar

You'd still need an inverter to step up to your pack voltage unless you could string enough panels together in series. You'd still need a dc-dc inverter to step up the voltage to 400v+ or whatever your pack dc voltage is.

    17kW System = 98.4 kWh Production (5.79kWh/kW of Panels)

My production has been dropping with the temps going up. A few days here in the central valley near 100F.

    Whats my Max

Just curious. Have you actually tried to DC fast charge on something other than a supercharger?
  4. S

    2021.4.17

Which I now do far more frequently than I used to. I recently upgraded my MCU1 to MCU2. I was on 3 year old v8.1 software and had normal supercharging speeds. Now it's 25 kw slower at all SOCs than it was before. On long trips, rather than leaving home with just what we need to get to the first...

    Whats my Max

What about DC fast charging other than supercharging? Does Tesla disable this for salvage vehicles?
  6. S

    Charge with 120v DC solar

You would need a dc-ac inverter output 120v AC and it would need to be able to supply a minimum of 5 amps at all time while the charger is on.

Solar panel decreases with hotter weather

Colder is better. Period. The most optimal temperature is the coldest you can get.
  8. S

    Tesla inverter in hot climate

The tesla inverter is liquid cooled like the PW2s? I don't think my SE inverter is even air cooled with a fan. What's the efficiency conversion rating of the Tesla inverter?

SolarEdge WaveHD inverter error “18xB5 Vcap11 Surge” meaning?

Also, now that Tesla is only offering their inverter and it does not include optimizers or panel level monitoring, I would not be a Tesla customer if I were ordering today. Optimizers was the compromise I was willing to make over not having micro inverters.

Question about FUSC and ownership change

Not only that, but if they were generalizing, as you say, then the response above from Tesla wouldn't be limited to removing FUSC when transferring through third party dealers but would reflect what happens with April 2017+ cars which is to remove FUSC even when transferred between private parties.
  11. S

Question about FUSC and ownership change

Except that it backs up what others have reported that swear they bought their car from a third party dealer as a trade-in. But honestly, your answer is even though Tesla said it IN WRITING, that it's still not true
  12. S

Question about FUSC and ownership change

You said that last year: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/tesla-removing-transferable-supercharging-from-existing-owners.163591/page-5#post-5121515 And Tesla's response directly contradicts this. No mention of it being only from cars they auction off to third party dealers...

Question about FUSC and ownership change

Tesla has been removing FUSC from ANY tesla regardless of year if it was sold by them or any third party dealer. If they haven't already, your FUSC will be removed. I still don't see how it's legal for them to remove FUSC just because it passes through a third party dealer. If Tesla owns it...

....and if only it had been an option from Tesla :(

    Data reset after PTO?

It took you that long to get PTO?
  16. S

SolarEdge WaveHD inverter error “18xB5 Vcap11 Surge” meaning?

I guarantee you I did more research on the topic than 99.99% of consumers who get solar.
  17. S

    Data reset after PTO?

Not just charged but charged exactly double the rate for those hours. My green data download also shows those KWHs in RED and the charge next to each one which was exactly double the rate at those times. My total bill added up to the exact sum of the charges from the green button download data.
  18. S

SolarEdge WaveHD inverter error “18xB5 Vcap11 Surge” meaning?

The only trade-off I'm aware of is cost. You said there were trade-offs but you didn't list any.
  19. S

    Data reset after PTO?

Mine was already the smart meter so it knows exactly when power is being put onto the grid and how much.
  20. S

    Data reset after PTO?

Right, but I'd still want my "few" minutes of data. And I don't think PG&E has a specific maximum testing limit.
  21. S

    Data reset after PTO?

If you have a TEG, the Zigbee isn't used for anything other than Tesla being able auto notify you when if it thinks your system went down. Since they already have production data from the TEG, the only thing they really get from the SE through the Zigbee is online status. They don't even get...
  22. S

    Data reset after PTO?

Not generally true. At least with PG&E you're allowed to "test" your system. The biggest problem is that if you dump any power to the grid before PTO, you not only don't get credit for it but you get charged TWICE the current rate. Ask me how I know :) As far as data pre PTO, all my data is...

SolarEdge WaveHD inverter error “18xB5 Vcap11 Surge” meaning?

If they only did micro inverters instead then we wouldn't have to worry about the entire system ever going down.
  24. S

After an outage, the system remains in backup mode

That could be. If it's sunny, the inverter is typically on through the entire test including when reconnecting to the grid. If the powerwalls somewhat full, the inverter might be signaled to shut off by the raised line frequency. In that case, the inverter might be off when I turn the main...
  25. S

    PG&E maintenance power off

Yea, that's not the same as running in backup mode. Even though they tested it once at install, it might be a good idea to get familiar with testing it yourself. For example, if the powerwall SOC is high and solar is producing, the powerwalls line frequency will likely be higher than 60 Hz...
  26. S

    PG&E maintenance power off

You turn the main breaker off every day and run in backup mode from 4 to 9?????
  27. S

Interesting... Sunrun is allowing ESS to support the Grid during peak time

I might consider this if I can by back that dollar amount of kwh with NO NBCs which would cover the 10% round trip storage loss.
  28. S

    PG&E maintenance power off

If you haven't already, you should test your system by turning the main breaker off. Do you have all your loads backed up or just partial?

Tesla App - My home is no longer in your account

I assume they opened a ticket? It doesn't matter if they're clueless. Have them open a ticket and it should get to the right team. I seriously doubt your going to get an answer on the phone from a first level human. Also, what is your zigbee showing? Is the red signal light on? Is this a Tesla...

Ordered Solar panel installation without Powerwall

My original layout had panels on the east side vs south. There were lots of space on the south side but the conduit run is much longer than where their original design had it. I asked them change it. Ran pvwatts with theirs and mine and showed them the difference and submitted their layout...
  31. S

After an outage, the system remains in backup mode

When I have outages, the app shows the grid back up within a second of the grid actually coming back up. I've tested this myself by turning off the main service breaker and then running in backup mode for a while before turning it back on.
  32. S

Am I not understanding the app?

Please keep us updated. Would they have just let this go on forever if you'd never caught it?
  33. S

Does persistent cell imbalance == module issue?

If you don't have any active errors, they'll just tell you everything is fine.
  34. S

What caused my SE7600 to shut off?

I figured but wasn't sure if I needed installer access to install an inverter that has been tied to an account already that I don't have installer access to.
  35. S

What caused my SE7600 to shut off?

    You were told wrong.
  36. S

Am I not understanding the app?

Also can you post a screen shot of your May usage so far in the app just to rule out some sky high crazy usage for the first 4 days of May? If the first 4 days is similar to your usage in April, then there is a colossal mistake somewhere. Either there's a very badly configured CT in the TEG...
  37. S

Am I not understanding the app?

Do you have daily and hourly production? Also, you should export your data from the Tesla app (use ios since android is currently broken) and create a spreadsheet that includes just the billing days from your utility provider so you can align them up and compare.
  38. S

What caused my SE7600 to shut off?

That's not necessarily true at all. If I buy and install my own SE inverter it most certainly still has a warranty from them. The question is what would Tesla do? Could they just wash their hands of it? SE can't. They're still on the hook for the product as long as it was installed correctly.
  39. S

My Tesla Solar Roof is underperforming by at least 20%

Can you post some screen shots?
  40. S

My Tesla Solar Roof is underperforming by at least 20%

And if he's in Denver or Boulder, then the solar radiation is a bit more through a mile less atmosphere ....which is the densest mile. On cooler days in the Central Valley, my 8.16kw system is peaking at 7.5 kw.
  41. S

My Tesla Solar Roof is underperforming by at least 20%

Not sure what the goal of your post is. If it's to get help, you should post your system details, panel layout, shading conditions. Have you compared it with pvwatts? Can you see your panel level production or are you on a Tesla inverter with no panel level optimization?
  42. S

What caused my SE7600 to shut off?

If mine failed, having SE send it to me directly would be ideal. I wonder what Tesla would do if I installed it myself and didn't wait for their tech? Do you think the RMA unit will come pre-provisioned?
  43. S

What caused my SE7600 to shut off?

Yes. Thanks for the catch on the typo :) Run the solar edge app. Goto the menu on the upper left(may be different on iOS) and click "Inverter Status". Do this while next to the inverter and follow the instructions in the app. After you're logged into the inverter, goto the advanced installer...
  44. S

What caused my SE7600 to shut off?

I never said SE would send YOU and RMA unit. Tesla needs to call SE to get the RMA issued and then Tesla installs the unit when they get it. The point is if you want to move the process along faster, call SE directly and let them determine first that the unit is bad and then call Tesla to tell...
  45. S

What caused my SE7600 to shut off?

FYI, I called Tesla yesterday again after reinstalling the zigbee and after I already talked with SE. The Tesla support person said that if I'm having issues, I can call SE directly (even though SE says you need a case number from your installer *unless* you can't get ahold of your installer)...
  46. S

Does persistent cell imbalance == module issue?

It's not enough to be bad cells. Odd thing is your difference narrows at lower SOCs to 4mV or so but at 95% the difference is more like 9mV. If you had a bad cell, it would be more like 50mV less than the rest in the 3.7 volt range.
  47. S

12V battery issue, service wants to replace DC-DC converter

One reason why it's good to always keep the next staged update ready to. I replaced my chargeport but fortunately had the yellow clock ready. Prior to the update, the replaced chargeport threw several errors one of which was "needs software update".
  48. S

Installed larger system from another company since Tesla wouldn't change design

Ditto. They changed my layout at my request with my modified layout drawing of their original drawing.
  49. S

Installed larger system from another company since Tesla wouldn't change design

I've never heard of Tesla offering micro inverters with their installs.
  50. S

    Supercharging taking more than hour

Wow. My P85DL pack has almost as many miles and at 93% the difference is 5mV and half of that difference is because of string 58.
