    My speed limits have gone

I think if they were going to do a rollback they would have done it by now.

    My speed limits have gone

As far as I know, this is related to the EU-2022.40-14215 nav/map data. (Note that the nav/map version is separate from your software version.) I think it probably affects all cars in the UK that have downloaded the new nav/map data. I don't think there's anything you can do except wait for...

If I had to guess I'd say that Tesla have probably clamped down on using third party apps on staff cars. We used to regularly see the odd one or two (presumed) staff cars on teslafi a while before a release was seen in the wild, but this doesn't seem to happen any longer. AIUI staff were...

    Tesla Referral Relaunch

Alternative explanation: they over-ordered on the merchandise, and no one is buying it, so they need to find a way to give it away :p
  5. R

    [UK] 2022.40

Known issue. It's not directly related to the software update, but seems to be an issue with the new map/nav data downloads (version EU-2022.40-14215).

It doesn't seem to work like that, though. I think what you say is probably true for the MCU code, but not the autopilot code, which I stonrgly suspect is completely different in production and FSD beta releases.
  7. R

    [UK] 2022.40

But that's an FSD Beta release, only available to North Americans. Despite the similar numbering, it's best to assume that FSD beta releases are pretty much completely unrelated to normal releases.

No way to remote start heated wipers?

I presume that's no different from selecting "defrost car" from the climate section of the app? (You have to swipe up to see it all the climate options.)
  9. R

    [UK] 2022.40

I had a very bad experience with the wipers driving down the motorway today. Wipers on during torrential downpour - then the car's response to heavy spray (in addition to the rain) was to switch from continuous to intermittent wipers! (This was during daylight.) More generally, was just doing...

    [UK] 2022.40

You sure? Just because FSD beta 11 is 2022.40.5, I don't think you can assume that any specific elements of that will be in 2022.40.7. Sure, the new 'single stack' highway code will make it into our cars in due course, but given beta 11 hasn't been released at all beyond employees, don't hold...

    Interior Upgrade / Re-Trim

I believe that from 2017-2019 free supercharging was still offered, but it was limited to the first owner of the car. So as far as the secondhand market is concerned, what the specialists told you is correct. But there will still be original owners of later cars who have free supercharging...

    [UK] 2022.40

Sorry, actually there was a 40.1 before that, but looks like it only went to a handful of cars. I think 40.4 was the first wide release.
  13. R

    [UK] 2022.40

40.4 was the first 40 realease to be seen (according to Teslafi). It was followed by 40.4.1.

    How Secure Are Teslas/Tesla Thefts

The Diskloks are hard to pick, and cutting it off with an angle grinder is noisy (plus probably takes longer than 10 seconds). Given how many Model 3s there are in London, why would a professional thief pick the one with the Disklok when there's no shortage of those without? Anyway, the police...

    How Secure Are Teslas/Tesla Thefts

I do think it acts as a deterrent. Why go to the trouble of removing a mechanical lock when there is no shortage of Teslas to steal that don't have one? Plus, the Disklok is one of the harder locks to defeat. Sure, you can remove it with an angle grinder if you know what you're doing - but...

    How Secure Are Teslas/Tesla Thefts

Disklok small fits the M3 just fine. I'd recommend it. EDIT: Not sure if the MY has the exact same steering wheel as the M3, but presuamably someone here will know.... You probably want to consider buying the full kit, which includes the protective steering wheel cover (to avoid the lock...

First Long Drive - autopilot problems

Or there may be something wrong with the car computer (in my case I needed a new car computer!). I have a suspicion that the Tesla Vision stack is pushing the autopilot computer much harder, and a marginal fault that maybe resulted in very occasional computer glitches with the old stack can...

I wonder what approach that council takes to allowing petrol stations within the green belt?
  21. R

    [UK] 2022.36

Probably A/B testing. Speculation is that they do this often - giving some cars one version and other cars another so they can monitor how the two versions compare in real life use.

Single blue line is NoA, right? I don't use NoA, but with autosteer IME whether or not the adjacent lane is displayed in the visualisation is a pretty good indicator as to whether auto lane change is available. At least, it was back in the radar days - not sure now whether it's changed.

2022.24.6 and Spotify on standard connectivity in the UK

Reboot? As an aside, I had always understood that the Tesla Spotify account was only ever supposed to be for premium connectivity subscribers, and that you could only ever sign into it if you had premium connectivity - but, that there was a longstanding bug that essentially meant that once...

I'm pretty sure I've noticed my car connect to the "Tesla Service" wi-fi network at a supercharger that wasn't at a service centre. Can't remember which one, though. EDIT: Could well have been Leicester, in fact.

I assumed they always (or at least usually) use the DC bus on V3 installations. If they didn't, then avoiding using stalls with the same number would still be a thing with V3 as it was with V2.

That assumes that (a) American advice as to how to hold the wheel is the same as British, and (b) even if it is, that any significant fraction of Americans cares about following such advice. EDIT: For all I know, Americans are taught to steer with their knees and use both hands to hold their...

Tesla Vision - Removal of UltraSonic Sensors

I'm pretty sure that the follow distance used to be in half-second increments. Certainly, a follow distance of 6 used to give me pretty much bang on 3 seconds between me and the car in front on the motorway. Definitely seems to be closer now, or at least less consistent. I've had it drive as...

    [UK] 2022.28.X

I'm sure it would need confirmation if it knew it was doing it. I assume that the problem is that the car isn't as good at recognising the lane marking you get at exits - which is different from other lane markings - and thinks it is just following the road.
  30. R

    [UK] 2022.28.X

Officially hubs aren't supported, but many people use them just fine. (I use one to allow me to have music and dashcam on separate USB sticks). Make sure you use a USB3 hub.
  31. R

    Issues with camera calibration

I wouldn't worry too much about five lanes, but you should spend some time e.g., driving in lane 2 of a three lane motorway, if you haven't already. The manual seems to be saying that the car wants to be able to see lanes on both sides of the driving lane in order to calibrate.

Climate after exiting stays on for hours

There was a change a while ago so that if you turn climate on (at least if you turn it on in the app - not sure about if you turn it on in the car) it stays on even if you enter and exit the car. It's so that you can turn climate on prior to a journey and not have it keep turning off as you...

With 2024.24.6 I had autopilot features (TACC/autosteer) unavailable on multiple drives, although it was available more often than not. I had one good motorway drive, but another where I had autosteer disengage four times with the big red hands blaring alarm and an "autosteer system error"...

I believe it's a bug. AIUI you're notsupposed to have the Tesla Spotify account unless you have premium connectivity. But, if you sign in to the Tesla Spotify account during the free trial of premium connectivity then it tends to remain signed in, even after the trial expires. Once you sign...

Hmm, maybe I'm drawing the wrong conclusions, then. Certainly I found that on a busy motorway it never tried to put the main beam on. It was only later at night, when the motorway was starting to get quite quiet in some stretches, that it actually gave me problems. After the second or third...

AHB seems to be good at recognising the tail lights of cars up ahead, but poor at recognising the headlights of oncoming vehicles on the other carriageway. So if most of your night time motorway driving is on busy enough motorways that it's rare not to have other vehicles visible ahead of you...

For the first time since early this year I had the autopilot computer become unavailable on 2022.24.6. TACC disengaged itself while I was driving with the message "cruise control unavailable" and the autopilot computer was unavailable for the rest of the drive - no TACC/autosteer, no speed...

I'm pretty sure the follow distance is *not* measured in car lengths. I believe it's a measurement of time, in units of half a second - although clearly at very low speeds there's also a minimum distance the car is willing to be from the car in front, which is certainly longer than a human...

Car seat setting off seatbelt alarm

v11 doesn't tell you much as that number increases only very rarely for major changes. There should be another number in brackets after v11, beginning with a year - e.g. most people are on 2022.20.8 at the moment, although they're currently pushing out newer versions 2022.24.6 and 2022.24.8.

Just to be clear, AHB is activated every time autosteer is activated. I was assuming that AHB would activate for TACC (which is also an Autopilot feature) since that is also now using vision, but at least on my car that's not the case.

    Self-driving cars UK Discussion

Right. It's hard to tell whether the proportion of cyclists who jump red lights is lower or higher than the proportion of drivers that break the speed limit. It's quite easy to convince yourself that in both cases it's the majority, but I'm not sure that's true. We tend to notice the...

Strange run-in with the fire service

The manual is almost certainly out of date. The point is that, until yesterday, cars built after April 2022 were the only ones (in the UK) running Tesla Vision. Very soon, it will be all cars, by the sound of it.
