    I joined the light side....

I forgot to add that even the 1500km free charging was in my loot box so all in all pretty great experience. The only thing i noticed is that it is valid for 6 months only. Is that normal?

I got them from Tesla but no instructions... have to figure it out. Will put them up tomorrow when its light. It was dark when i came home today.

Yeah, it is the winter tyres on. Hakapeliita R3. The turbines have to wait until April :)

Arrived today, M3LR 2021. It is a beast. No name yet. All suggestions will be considered. I went through the attached list. No issues what-so-ever. No gaps, no panel misalignments, everything worked as it should. Charged the car at home with 47 miles/hour speed (74km/hour). Powerlift trunk is...

    Delivery not accepted

Where the heck do all those dents occur on Teslas? Who drives those cars to the dealer? Monkeys? Never in my life, owning many cars over 21 years have i ever received a car from a dealer with a dent. Even on used cars i bought a dent was not acceptable. When did Tesla found that a dent on a...

    Tesla model 3 accident

You might be right but if you put 0 money down on a M3LR the month fee is 980dollars... in 3 years you end up paying 36000 dollars for a car. I d rather take the risk of losing 10000 dollars on a 45000 car than guarantee of losing it through a lease... Get a good high tier insurance instead...

Man.... sorry to hear. I am getting mine tomorrow morning and i am really nervous now....

    Tesla model 3 accident

Can't see details from the photos but it looks like B pillar is saved. So the damage if front axel/sus, 2 doors and panel. Not a totalled from the photos but a detailed investigation will show. I took my S that had both panels behind C pillars smashed, both doors and rear bumper and they still...

Does It Seem Like Everyone Wants To Race You?

Right now it is over 48% but not of total but of new car sales. Half of new cars registered in Norway are EVs. In 10 years they expect at least 60-70% of the whole country to drive EVs. I had a discussion with a representative of the power network owner and they said they are working their butt...

    Pulled Over on Delivery Day!

Great story, happy all ended well. Don't do that again infront of cops. I know its tempting with a Tesla to do it all the time but reserve yourself for when you are alone in the street :) Enjoy and be safe. Congrats!

    Is M3 Big Enough?

    1. 2 kids, gf and you : no problem in the m3. 3 kids/adults ok too but not for very long trips. 2. The dog is a deal breaker. Do not expect to have more than 2 passengers and a dog in a m3. Then it is getting crammed either for the dog or the passengers or straight out too dangerous. Trunk is...

need help deciding which car to buy

Don't buy a 500k car to do race track at Rudskogen.... i have seen too many Teslas there going out on a wheelchair... its just sad. Rent a BMW instead on their track :)

Yeah that is an option i am thinking too if i ever get bored with the 4,1 seconds.... i dont think i ever will though :)

need help deciding which car to buy

I was where you are, also in Norway. Bought the 2021 LR because the 1 second doesnt mean anything to me. It is only something to tell your friends. You can't race on the streets in Norway and with the speed limits we have here LR is MOooooore than enough. Also the 20'' wheels will be destroyed...

First significant problem with LR AWD after 2 years and 28k miles

What makes me wonder the most though, besides the ridiculous hour prices they charge, is why do so many Teslas are being eaten by rodents? Or is it happening to other cars but because they are not in the spotlight we never hear about it? Or does Tesla use especially tasty recycled plastics? I...

First significant problem with LR AWD after 2 years and 28k miles

Any decent diagnostic or plainly lift of the car would show the issue in 20 minutes. 250 dollars for 20 minutes job, what are they pretending to be now, heart surgeons?
  21. thewallaby

First significant problem with LR AWD after 2 years and 28k miles

So they did not change the harness? So you paid 230 dollars just to connect that single 0.5 cable? What is their hour prices ? Unlimited dollars x2?

12v battery issue, Tesla unsatisfactory response

I am assuming you guys are using a BT OBD and a cable daisy chain ? Care to share which one?
  26. thewallaby

12v battery issue, Tesla unsatisfactory response

Your charging shows 13.x V for the most part.... that is not good. And it is obviously a soft error if this is happening during charging sessions since it is capable of charging to 14.4v.... The guy that changed the battery on my Model S said it was a deep cycle one. Doesnt the model 3 have...
  27. thewallaby

12v battery issue, Tesla unsatisfactory response

Most people that call that term have no clue what it means so dont sweat it too much. A deep cycle battery would be normally used in solar panel applications. Not in cars but they are popular in EVs because of 1. cost and 2. presumably low required peak capacity. But i fear that this is not the...
  28. thewallaby

12v battery issue, Tesla unsatisfactory response

What you describe here is Tesla using defect batteries for over 2 years without recalls hoping to get their cost covered by customers that drive more than 60k in the first couple of years and are out of warranty which for me is much worse than a software bug or a wrong capacity design... i think...

Traveling by Supercharger can be more expensive than ICE

I don't know how you drive but there are tons of model 3s videos on youtube driving in winter conditions and hardly exceeding 280 wh/mile. If you hit 370 it means you had fun all the way there. An ICE car driving it like you stole it would probably average 5-10mpg. Do you math again.

LR AWD - One Year Review

I have the same feelings about the m3 but it will be our family car since the other we have now is a small peugeot e208. And yes, due to covid we might have to sell the small one... i do really like both though. But the winter concerns , i agree. They are there.
  31. thewallaby

12v battery issue, Tesla unsatisfactory response

I think the only solution would be that Tesla had a parallel charger to the main one or an inverter that topped off the lead battery when charging the vehicle. On my ICE i have a coupe heater that also tops the battery every time i plug it in overnight in the winter. It cannot be so hard. Or...

Value Model 3 Performance vs Long Range

Hmm ok, i did not know that. Most 18s will not fit on performance AFAIK. There are some very special designed 18s that have like microns of tolerance but in those cases you are just looking for trouble on a cold day with warm and slightly warped caliper brackets... i would not take the chance.
  35. thewallaby

Dreaded "Vehicle may not restart" error

I am happy you got this fixed but i am really sceptic if that ever happened to a new model 3 and they swapped the DU with a used one that has mileage on it... It used to be that people demanded new ICE engines when their new one blew. Tesla reinvented the kit-car....
  36. thewallaby

Value Model 3 Performance vs Long Range

LR has a larger audience than performance. LR interests business people, families, commuters etc. Performance has a more limited audience. With that being said Elon might pull a fast one with a 20k model 2 that has 600miles range and your LR becomes obsolete. Noone knows mate. Buy the one that...

Wrapped model 3 with different color than original door frames

Thanks for all the great advice guys, i guess i am going with a compromise, i ll PPF the front bumper that gets sandblasted every winter and do some problematic areas like the trunk and rear wheel arches too with PPF and keep the white. As i said i like the colour so i might as well enjoy it...

Wrapped model 3 with different color than original door frames

Thanks, the thing is i like the white colour. Do you mind posting a photo with the trunk open or one of the doors open? I wanted to put PPF and keep the white cause i actually like it but they asked 4000 USD here for PPF vs 2000 for colored wrap, which i think is madness. I might as well wrap...

Wrapped model 3 with different color than original door frames

Can anyone please share some photos of their wrapped model 3 with the doors open where the inside of the door frames show the colour difference? I want to wrap my white model 3 fury orange but don't know if the colour difference will bother me. Also do you notice the colour difference in the...

How bad is M3 paint in reality?

Tesla owners have learned to accept specification defects as unique features. I should stop reading the forums until my m3 arrives.... at least... ;)
  42. thewallaby

How bad is M3 paint in reality?

I am waiting for my white m3. I am thinking to either do a total white wrap or a front bumper and rear wheel arch PPF with pillar delete. The price is exactly the same where i live (2000USD). I do not know why... But it seems to me that a total wrap would be better for the car and the effect...

    Where are the camera views?

Well the thing is that softwarewise it should be an easy job. Why Elon doesnt do it is a mystery. Even 3d image clip virtualization like other cars have would be something. Our Peugeot e208 has it and it has only 2 cameras... Probably because of liability issues in case someone thinks its live...
  44. thewallaby

How bad is M3 paint in reality?

Why not buy a BMW with perfect paint and double the price then? Look, there is no golden deal. If you bought a P100D for 90-100k+ and had demands about spotless and perfect paint i would understand you. But at that price range, with this performance, tech, design, comfort, fuel-price etc...

    Complaints about Model 3 pricing

It's called ''early adopter fee''. Elon has previously discussed the concept in several interviews. Basically if you can't wait you have to pay. More.

    Tesla service center meltdown?

10 weeks in Tesla for repairs? Why so long? Did you have an accident with the car? How much time did it take before the accepted you in for the repair since you called? Did you get a loaner?

New Norwegian Tesla Service center 2018

Long story short Tesla is expanding to a much needed large service center in the Oslo area. Old, new and potentially new owners can take a deep breath now. (Text google translated from Norwegian). It is amazing to see the growing interest in whole-electric family cars, which has led to a...

This is not a rant , this is a friendly note to future Norwegian Tesla owners.

Well i guess ranting works. Also spaming Elon with link to this rant 10 times in the last few days possibly helps too. Because i like to be fair here is the e-mail i received a few hours ago. And true to my word since they are doing something about it I will stick it with Tesla for the time...

This is not a rant , this is a friendly note to future Norwegian Tesla owners.

Tried several times but all he can think now is flamethrowers. Seriously i have even escalated the case through the website in November and nothing. Not even a courtesy e-mail from Tesla Norway. Nothing. Completely ignored. Now i have been trying to close an appointment for the seat sensor they...

This is not a rant , this is a friendly note to future Norwegian Tesla owners.

Exactly, if Tesla Norway understood that they have a great responsibility to not drop the ball on the Tesla revolution that is taking place in Norway by offering good quality and timely service then i would feel more confident sticking with Tesla. Teslas vision is great but the execution lacks...
