Looking to Rent Tesla in Sydney Dec 12-30

That's hilarious! And one of those things that, once you've seen in, you can't unsee!

Looking to Rent Tesla in Sydney Dec 12-30

Thank you. That car would have been great, but it seems to be booked. We found another through evee, though. Grateful to @AndyCharged and @blubbernator for that suggestion. The Tesla community is always terrific!

Looking to Rent Tesla in Sydney Dec 12-30

Hey, we're from the States. We don't use standard anything here. We're the home of weird voltages and weirder connectors. Even our home AC outlets look like sad faces. And, there are few things quite as entertaining as attempting to charge from 110V ...

Looking to Rent Tesla in Sydney Dec 12-30

Aware ... but hadn't considered what a plus that must be. Thanks! We're just in the process of getting CCS adapters here in the States. Some of our cars (early Model 3s) need a small part upgrade first.

Looking to Rent Tesla in Sydney Dec 12-30

G'day, all! Tesla owners from Los Angeles looking to rent Model 3 LR for our first stay in Australia. Two weeks or so near the start of summer holidays. Have used Turo in the States but don't know best approach in NSW. Experienced with RHD in New Zed, UK, etc. Any suggestions would be...

Supercharger - Lone Pine, CA (LIVE 28 Jan 2015, expanded Dec 2019, 8 V3 stalls)

Made it to Bishop, thanks … although closer to 55 mph than we have driven in a long time! :)

Supercharger - Lone Pine, CA (LIVE 28 Jan 2015, expanded Dec 2019, 8 V3 stalls)

Charging stopped suddenly for all at this location. Power appears to be out. Couldn’t tell whether outage was Superchargers only, the town of Lone Pine, or the entire Owens Valley. Cellular data became erratic at the same time. Hoping to be able to get this post out!

Where to buy Tesla 19 inch Sport wheels for Model 3?

The aero covers come off, and the wheels underneath look really good. And, even with covers off, the 18" wheels deliver significantly better range. If you plan to road trip at all -- at Texas 85 mph speeds -- that difference matters.

    Need Some Education

Had a 2015 S85D. Loved it. Then my wife got one of the first Model 3s in 2017. "Borrowed" it for a day. Didn't want to trade back. Yes, the Model S is a bit better looking ... but mainly the straight-on front view. However, we've found the 3 much more fun to drive. We now have two red...

California, LA to San Jose - 1st trip (need advice!)

Ah, Casa de Fruta. Brings back bad memories of my first car, a Batmobile-styled Buick. Alternator went out as we started up Pacheco Pass around midnight. Things steadily dimmed, and then the car coasted to a stop at CdF. Had to spend the night on a naugahyde booth bench in Casa de Coffee...

California, LA to San Jose - 1st trip (need advice!)

If there's any way you can make it work financially, see if you can upgrade your order from SR+ to LR. For the amount of LA/Bay driving you do, you'll be glad you did. When we bought our first Model S in 2015, I was going to buy a 60 or a 70. My wife pushed me to spring for an 85, and it made...

    Supercharger - Mojave, CA (EXPANDED Dec 2021, 6 V2 + 4 V3 + 2 urban stalls)

Charged briefly at Mojave today. Early afternoon Thursday, not yet the holiday weekend. Even so, all eight spots were filled, including the two Urbans up on the gravel. Tomorrow may be crazy. Meanwhile, Bishop had almost nobody there the entire afternoon.

Supercharger - Bishop, CA (LIVE 18 Nov 2020, 12 stalls)

Bishop will also help Lone Pine. Because of charging taper, 15 minutes in Lone Pine can be replaced with 5-minute pee breaks in LP and Bishop. Plus, for those headed to Mammoth, Bishop’s location only 40 (uphill) miles from destination might somewhat reduce the comfort buffer people feel they...

    Which Winter/Snow Tires

I've switched to Michelin CrossClimates for the bizarre mix of driving we do here in California winters: 65 degrees at low elevations but FEET of snow in the mountains. All-seasons but rated for severe winter duty. Not true winter tires, but they scored high marks on TireRack for wet, dry...

    New owner —Worried

OP is indeed getting great advice from everyone here. As a real-world example of charging strategy: We went from LA to Park City (near SLC). Yes, we charged to 100% before leaving home, allowing us to make a big first push. After that, though, we made even more Supercharging stops than...

Supercharger - Lone Pine, CA (LIVE 28 Jan 2015, expanded Dec 2019, 8 V3 stalls)

That’s what I suspect may happen. The way they’ve paved/patched, it looks like there may be four V3 stalls added, with hardware in the original wooden enclosure. Even so, this could have waited until after the holiday weekend and after the plastic wrap came off the other four new units.

    Winter Tires on Model 3

We face similar sand-to-snow conditions in California. The OEM Michelin Primacys have been OK for us on snow and ice, on both our RWD and AWD Model 3s. However, with one set of tires now almost ready for replacement, we’re considering Michelin CrossClimates, which seem to offer a good combo of...

6 month old Tesla model 3 losses 7 miles

Wondering whether there’s a meaningful difference between indicated range in dual motor and rear motor cars. Both of our cars indicated about 308 (100% road trip charge) when new. Of course, the dual motor car is slightly less efficient and burns through its indicated miles slightly more...

    Model S to 3?

Lived for six months with an S85D (mine) and a 3LR (wife’s). Found I was always asking to trade and use hers. Sold the S. Bought a P3D (when you could get it with 18” wheels). Haven’t looked back. Newer, fresher, interior. Better visibility. Much more fun to drive, especially on...

Help - Fit Mtb In Trunk Of M3?

Other great game-changer is getting a hitch-mounted rack (and hitch mount) for your Model 3. Rough on range but remarkable on convenience! I’ve used the Torklift EcoHitch and a Kuat Sherpa rack. Both highly recommended.

My wife’s 3LR RWD. 18-inch aeros ... but aero covers forgotten at home. 74 mph most of the way. Temps in the 70s leaving LA, near 100 across the Mojave and up the Owens Valley, then about 70 upon arrival in Mammoth. Normal burn for this car at that temp and speed is about 250 Wh/mile or...

    Too much focus on FSD?

Yes! Plus better purchase/service communication, more consistent service experiences, and continued Supercharger expansion. Autopilot is great. FSD is further away than Elon believes. In the meantime, AP improvement is great, gradual FSD pursuit is great, but let's focus on the basics, please.
