Driver seat squeak when moving front and back by easy entry

I had the same issue. Tesla was happy to replace my seat for.....$3,800. I declined.

    Adding vehicle to Tesla app

Useless company. Tried to add Used Model S since last Monday. Three "chats" later and still nothing. They mouth all the right words but don't deliver unless you have a total cow. They're toast in a few years after the Germans get their act together. Love the cars, hate the company.

    EAP stripping

Thanks for these replies. What a great forum. Q: EAP works. I have videoed the screen showing that the vehicle has the software. How could original owner get EAP without paying for it? I have the window sticker from the dealer showing EAP and the Autotrader ad showing it as well. hope...

    EAP stripping

Bought an S from a MBZ dealer with EAP advertised. Wasn't an auction, it was a trade-in. Haven't added the car to my account with Tesla yet, as I don't have vehicle registration yet. Can anyone tell me by what process Tesla might strip out the EAP? In essence, what part of the company does...

    To cancel or continue... WWYD?

Give yourself some breathing room and buy a 75D. It’s rare to need more range than 250 miles in one day.
  8. carnutfan

    To cancel or continue... WWYD?

Classic overprocessing. If you can afford 75k, you can afford a little more for a new car with no issues and a lot more range. You ditched a WAY overpriced 100D (sorry 100D owners, Tesla cut prices drastically and orphaned your cars) and then ordered an SR with even LESS range. If wood trim is a...

Long Delivery Timeline for New Model S Orders

To Feel Like a Sir,, what is the point of making someone feel bad about their choice? He's happy with the deal he made and it's a damn good car. Whether or not it fits your measure of a good deal is utterly irrrelevant. The ink is dry and the buyer is happy. Leave it alone.

    Model S 100D valuations

Hi All, Looking for used MS 100D. Trying to get a handle on values, as what I see is so ludicrously (sorry) overpriced relative to a new S that I am puzzled. I'm seeing cars two model years old that are near the price of a new car with more range. My hang up is that I'm looking for a sunroof...

    US Bank end of Lease

just call US Bank. They'll route you to their "loyalty" unit. 833.837.5246. They'll slice off quite a bit. If you like the car (even if you don't), consider it for six months and selling with some warranty left. lot of folks here would be interested in the car.

60D to 75D Battery unlock no longer available?

It’s not offered. Scuttlebutt is that it will be offered at the end of the year, but there’s nothing definitive and no matter what you say at the service center they are not going to do it just because they feel like it.

General chit-chat in "For Sale" threads

Selling or Lease Takeover: Dec 2018 USED TESLA MODEL S 75D

This is a really nice car. Tesla has made it impossible to create any type of stable valuation. This could be a good buy for someone at the end of the lease, if the payoff is around 50. GLWS

    Tire swap

I would add that they add significant noise and harshness to the ride. It’s tough balancing the appearance you seek and the ride you really want. I had 21 inch arachnids on my my last and switch them back to the 19s. It is night and day.

Thinking of selling my S60 for a new long range S. Thoughts/questions...

I’m sure that’s true. It’s just that I don’t think they build any that aren’t ordered in advance. The actual numbers are quite small.
  31. carnutfan

    US Bank end of Lease

If you look at their used offerings, the prices are dropping as we speak. They are selling a lot of 60s too.
  32. carnutfan

Thinking of selling my S60 for a new long range S. Thoughts/questions...

well, they don't seem to build any extra, that is for sure. Every one is custom and they don't discount, unless there are miles on it. If they can direct almost all their resources to the 3 and the Y for now, then the S will continue to sell in small volumes, with little new engineering costs...

    What’s S60D to S75D upgrade/uncork price today?

I cannot get to the bottom of this. Seems like easy money. The company's response to questions has been inconsistent, as usual.

    US Bank end of Lease

US Bank offered me 7500 off the residual if I financed through them with no early payoff penalty. Then I found out Tesla doesn't sell the 60-75 Kw upgrade anymore.
  37. carnutfan

    What’s S60D to S75D upgrade/uncork price today?

Can't do it, currently. I went to multiple sources. Possible at the end of the year.

AutoPilot Crash today-Tesla response less than stellar?

The car was in autopilot mode. It was accelerating up the hill and he was not steering, but had his hands right near the steering wheel, per instruction.

AutoPilot Crash today-Tesla response less than stellar?

What is AEB and how does it affect AP? If I'm going to re-order, I'd like to know from a user perspective (not sales) what to look for. Thanks.
  44. carnutfan

AutoPilot Crash today-Tesla response less than stellar?

IMHO the system is very nuanced and would require many sessions to understand its benefits and limitations. That isn't possible on a single test-drive.
  45. carnutfan

AutoPilot Crash today-Tesla response less than stellar?

I am not interested in getting anyone fired. I am interested in how Tesla responds to someone who really wants to drive a Model S but has had an experience like this. Thank you for the information on the hills. If I do end up getting one, I will be very prudent in its use.
  46. carnutfan

AutoPilot Crash today-Tesla response less than stellar?

I believe it was set to 6. @andrewket, I agree with you about where to use it, so imagine an inexperienced person in this situation. The car doesn't behave like humans. It rushed up to the car in front of it. Very scary.

AutoPilot Crash today-Tesla response less than stellar?

I was on the last day of my 7-day deposit period. I was really excited about the car. So I took my friend to a local Tesla store and we went for a drive. AP was engaged. As we went up a hill, the car was NOT slowing down approaching a red light at 50 mph. The salesperson suggested that my...

    Plz help EV newbie

Hi to all: Gathering courage to abandon the ICE so need some help with numbers, as I've leased cars for years now and contemplate buying. I'm interested in a S75 with MSRP of 82k.
