Model S S75D for sale, VIC.

Hi guys, I'm helping my old man sell his 2017 delivery (Dec 2016 build) Model S 75D. It's in perfect condition, 75,000km, full tan Nappa leather interior (after this cars were built with plastic seats), full alcantara headliner, solid roof, AP2 and enhanced autopilot, with smart summon, auto...

Disagree. He's a pretty measured journalist. You might not like or agree with what he says, but he often makes good points.

With the leaks we are getting, I have a feeling that they are holding the MYP production for the introduction of AP4 hardware. We've already seen leaked photos of it in cars in the last week, so maybe you're being rewarded for your patience.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

We had a price drop a week ago. The US price drop just brought them to parity. It does stack up, because the maths stacks up. AU price is now just US price + tax. Last week US was paying more. Tesla has dropped prices in all territories. They say supply chain normalisation which is probably...

Because it costs significant money to retool a line and add to the supply chain to make RHD components.
  7. B

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

Yeah, and if you add GST, LCT and Stamp duty, the final price is within $AUD1-3k depending on your state. US prices have just been brought into line with our prices.

    Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA

I believe the Plaid was listed at 189k drive away when it first launched here. It think that's what it will sell for when it's launched. Unless these prices are to shift stock before hardware 4 arrives and then it will bounce back upwards. Hardware 4 is imminent.
  9. B

    Motivation?

Sorry, but a base Model Y doesn't have massive torque. Something like 400nm, which is 2.0 turbo diesel territory. It's available from 0 rpm, but it's definitely not a huge amount.

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

I doubt they're retooling. We would have heard about this. They're shutting down the plant because of a world wide drop in demand. In China demand has been dropping for a while, wait times are down to a week. US has a drop in demand because of the upcoming tax rebates, and they're selling at...

The slower version of the Palladium Model S runs a 10.8 1/4 mile which still puts it in probably the top 30 fastest cars on sale anywhere in the world.
  13. B

    Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA

Respectfully and literally by your own admission, the competition hasn't caught up, the i7 is a lot slower in a straight line than any Model S. The thing that bothers me about the i7 aside from its looks is the fact it's an ICE vehicle with a battery and motors. BMW appear to be great at making...
  14. B

    Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA

Nope, that requires some serious lead time for components and retooling at the factory. The fact we haven't even seen a prototype probably means it's a year away at least.

State based proposed EV road user charge

That's right, and the general revenue is then distributed to pay for road maintenance to state governments. So the state government has no right collecting a Federal tax, comprehende?
  16. B

State based proposed EV road user charge

    Yeah separate email.
  17. B

State based proposed EV road user charge

Neither is the EV tax. Road construction and maintenance comes from fuel excise which is a federal fund. It has nothing tp do with the state.
  18. B

State based proposed EV road user charge

Just paid my Vic road tax today, $550. A good $100 of that was a road trip up and around NSW. Geez I hate Dan Andrews.

    The ‘Weight’ of EVs

My mistake. But generally AWD cars handle a little worse than their RWD equivalents, more understeer, but they do have much better traction and corner exit speeds.
  20. B

    The ‘Weight’ of EVs

I think you're confusing traction with handling. There's no way a Model S out handles a Model 3 (I've had a lot of seat time in both). The Model S doesn't handle badly for a big sedan, but it's a lot heavier than a Model 3 and it shows it when it comes to handling. The new Palladiums might be...

    The ‘Weight’ of EVs

You're confusing awd feel with rwd feel. You confused the more planted awd with the more lively rear wheel drive and assumed the differnce was weight, rather than the front wheels having more resistance because they are also drive wheels. Both cars are within a passenger weight of each other and...

How far away are we from FSD. Would you option now?

Don't. If you must, get EAP as a stop gap. Personally I don't think we'll see FSD on the current hardware. The next gen hardware is about to go into production with TSMC next year.

I don't understand what you're trying to say? They're not doing anything other than exporting them to China. They're also exporting them to Europe in the coming months.
  30. B

    Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA

Because that just means they're exporting them from Freemont to China. This is common knowledge, theyve sent texts out to owners to prepare for delivery thus month. It's got nothing to do with production moving. It would be great If it did, but they won't move the S and X line to China until the...

    Australian Model Y Waiting Room

My old man has an unfulfilled Model S order placed in Nov. 2020 just before the refresh. He also has a MYP order. So it gets worse, way worse.
  33. B

    Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA

Doubtful. Why would they retool for RHD when they've not send a single LHD car to the European market?
  34. B

    Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA

Traditionally they have. But the wait has never been this long. I guess technically all Tesla has to do to get out of their side of the contract is to slightly change (update) the car before it arrives and call it a new model. Or they could just do what Toyota did to all their customers with...

    Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA

I understand your concerns about Rivian and Lucid, but Rivian has Bezos/Amazon money behind them, and a contract to deliver hundreds of thousands of Amazon delivery vans (and it'll probably be ongoing), and Lucid has Saudi money as well as a contract for over 100k Airs to be delivered the Saudi...
  36. B

    Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA

I doubt anyone has any firm idea, including Tesla. If it's that long, might as well buy a Rivian or Lucid because they'll definitely be available by then. But realistically, Tesla still can't meet demand on the S/X in North America, they haven't shipped one car to left hand drive markets like...

    NRMA fast charging network

Absolutely. Why pay when you don't gave to? I recently had the choice of paying for a supercharging session near Nowra, or using the free NRMA charger in Berry. I went to Berry and used it, and didn't feel a pang of quilt when two Teslas and an iPace came in and drove away, and someone in a...

    Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA

I'm not confused at all. You're listing some irrelevant price that no one actually pays. The only price that matters is the onroad price, which is generally within about $1-3k depending on the state.
  42. B

    Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA

That's a weird way to list a car price (you're probably talking about 30% under). I believe the onroad price of the Plaid started at $215k and made it's way up to about $260k before they removed it from the site. Likewise the LR started at about $150k and made its way upto about $185k before...
  43. B

    Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA

I think you mean the Model S LR was $186k. The Plaid was a lot more than that even from launch.
  44. B

    Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA

I wouldn't worry, you have a PDF of your sales agreement which supposedly locks it in at that price. Tesla has a history of honouring those (other manufacturers don't). That being said, Tesla also has not even started selling the new S or X outside of North America. No customer units have...

Just wanted to let you guys know that I used the following link to check on the progress of my old man's Model Y Performance (hoping for a BOOKED status, which unfortunately still was ORDERED, but I noticed that his model S has a BOOKED status). I just clicked this link for my old man's account. His MYP is stilling sitting as ordered, but his 2022/23 Model S long range now says BOOKED. Interesting.
