    Retrofit for Steam

Swivel motors isn’t an approved retrofit. Had a long conversation with SC about it. The SA reached out to Engineering about it. You can get the parts, but Engineering won’t allow it to be “turned on” in the Gateway config.

Installed! Austin MY C Pillars for Parcel Shelf

Maybe that is a Model X shelf? It looks like my Model S one without the locator piece on the back of it.

Peeling clear coat on carbon fiber wing

You can fix it yourself or just buy a new part. CF is pretty easy to work with. I repaired some damage to my factory spoiler and re-cleared it. It’s a lot more work than just ordering a new one though…

2021 Model Year Refresh: Owners' Thoughts?

The website update yesterday now shows the new screen size under "More Information" on the build screen for both the 2023 Model S and X

    Retrofit for Steam

Interesting about the Ethernet. No more media converter!

    Retrofit for Steam

Wiper? What am I missing? Matrix headlights have a different harness pin out and would require an adapter from Tesla at a minimum, plus the programming change to control them.

2021 Model Year Refresh: Owners' Thoughts?

Agreed, loss or not though there should be a “get well” plan to maintain customer sat. The responses I’ve received are much of this not being approved by Telsa Engineering. I’d love to have a word with them… Given the imminent miss on financials, it’s unlikely these things will be done for...

Toolbox use on Model S Plaid

It would probably be easier/cheaper to get a Service Center to install the new Ethernet Dash harness in the refresh S/X. I don’t think anything else would be required as the connector goes straight to the MCU-Z. Programming the harness change…that’s a whole other thing…

    FSD issue

The VIN is blacklisted. Mine had a single black mark that was reset with a software update. If the Beta team will remove the blacklist, you’ll likely need to provide proof of purchase. I’d also talk to your local service center and see if they have a process for this situation.

2021 Model Year Refresh: Owners' Thoughts?

My understanding is the support infrastructure for the jump seats was removed with the 21 refresh, or before.

I’d pay for that. I might even pay 5k if I got all of it…

2021 Model Year Refresh: Owners' Thoughts?

Up until this update there was no way for a customer to know or need to care. Seems like they are talking out of both sides of their mouth on that one.

    Tilting Monitor on S

You’ve misread the screen capture. I provided it to share information on how Tesla responded to my request. They gave the list. It would have little to no value for the group if I detailed out the components.

    Tilting Monitor on S

Here is a response I got this week. All roads lead back to the Gateway Config of the vehicle and Tesla Engineerings lack of helpfulness.

Picking up 22 long range Sunday!!

Make sure the rear parcel shelf, charging adapter with J1772 adapter, both key cards, and if it still has them both fobs. Depending on how far you’re going, make sure you get access to the App for charging. A 22 at this point could be either new or used not sure where you’re getting it from...

2022 Model S Long Range Yoke shaking at highway speeds

2021 Refresh Tail Lamp and Charge Port Retrofit Project

I’ve read this pre/post mod edit like 5 times each and back through the thread. This statement seems odd given the wiring work he did and the previous statements you’ve made. It was plug and play, then it wasn’t, now it is again. Is there a switch/setting in Toolbox to make them plug and play...

2021 Refresh Tail Lamp and Charge Port Retrofit Project

Turns out you are right and I'm wrong. I apologize for questioning a single model year difference. Color me embarrassed. So, we now all know the 2016-2021 (probably even earlier) Model Ss have the same quarter taillight wiring layout and need to be adapted to the new light. Is the trunk...

2021 Refresh Tail Lamp and Charge Port Retrofit Project

Really not sure what your problem is? What do you mean by pre-face? As in pre-facelift/original refresh? Nose Cone Model S? I see the rear facing seats. I don't have one of those. I have a 2021 Refresh that still has a bumper to bumper warranty that I'm not really interested in voiding. But...

2021 Refresh Tail Lamp and Charge Port Retrofit Project

Nintendo80 said the 2021 Refresh wiring is plug and play for the lights. So, I think you’re off by a year. Yes 2021 and older are all the same and would require the same modifications. Most of us here have the 2021 Refresh version of the car. At least I think…

Model S Technical / Mechanical Issues

That sucks all the way around. Sorry you had such trouble. Drive the car for a little while and when you have 2-3 issues to be looked at open a service request. Depending on the problem, they may come to your house to fix it or you take it to them. Add the squeaky lock to the list. They’ll fix it

2021 Refresh Tail Lamp and Charge Port Retrofit Project

I wouldn’t count on it. Model S doesn’t have the unit numbers to support a robust aftermarket.
  32. L

2021 Refresh Tail Lamp and Charge Port Retrofit Project

Given that the taillights and charger port would require replacing the tail light mount points on the rear fenders, I think it’s safe to say that method of a retrofit would be hard to accomplish. The only other way to accomplish this would be to disassemble the fender taillights and swap the...

Calling owners whom have BOTH Model S and Model Y - cabin noise

2021 Model S LR and 2022 Model Y P: The Model Y has more comfortable seats and the sound system is richer. The Model S has a more comfortable suspension and 25% more range. Model S cabin noise is slightly more muted than the Y. Both have the Parcel Shelf installed, and the same make of tires...

2022 Model S Sound System Quality

I feel the same about my 21’ MSLR compared to my wife’s 22 MYP. Especially since I retrofitted the Austin Parcel shelf in her car. Much richer sound compared to the S.

    What does y-na mean

My guess is that the QR code goes to the online listing for the car if it were for sale. Since you’ve purchased the car, it isn’t listed for sale and goes to the default page if there isn’t an active listing.

I just finished up my install after picking up the parts this afternoon. I can confirm the revised part numbers listed above still work with the old base trim. Need advice on 2020 MSLR tire replacement

The new Model Ys are coming with the Continental ProContacts seems it’s also preferred on the Model S LRs too. I recently swapped from the Pirellis and they are noticeably quieter.
