    FSD Beta 10.69

OP here for that video... Clout chaser? Maybe for some of the new guys just getting these releases, not me... Like Chuck Cook (who I know) I've spent countless hours testing and posting videos when I can and have been beta testing since Oct 2020. My goal is to show the progress and improve...

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

I have gotten much more feedback on this video than most... mostly on Twitter. Feel free to ask questions and discuss.

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

I have been having really good drives since 10.12.1/2 and it makes me really excited to start driving complex routes and making more videos.

Auto-park bashed our neighbour's car - should Tesla pay both repair bills?

I'm sorry this happened, and I think many people here are correct that Tesla won't take any responsibility for this, etc. My thoughts on what happened, however, are that after watching the video and re-reading the manual, this was not a correct starting position for parallel autopark. Why was...

Anyone using iPhone 6 with their Model 3?

i don’t get sounds anymore for notifications on new phones. Also tried reinstalling. Definitely limited to Tesla app notifications. needs to be fixed.

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

But, interestingly, I was never in the first rounds of EAP (Smart Summon, etc) yet my friend was who bought his car months after me. But he drove in metropolitan areas and I was in a much more rural area at the time. There may be many factors that come in to play.

Purchased car/FSD after standing in line on launch/announcement day March 2016. Delivery May 2018.

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

I didn’t fit into those categories. Stood in line on launch day to put my deposit on Model 3.

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

I think that I was far enough back that the illegal cut in didn’t really impact FSD’s driving inputs. Yes, the depicted path would have conflicted, but I didn’t notice any action taken because of the distance. What I thought was interesting here was that the other turning cars all cut through...

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

This is the first time I have seen FSDBeta attempt a U-turn. I took over at the end of the maneuver because a car was approaching in the far lane and I didn’t want it to overshoot. I will go back to test this location.

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

interesting. I have never been there before. FSD is going to have to learn to read those street signs and possible update map data. If you watch the Andrej Karpathy AI videos on YouTube you can see that this is the goal.

Report button is not necessary when there is a disengagement. It automatically gets sent.

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

It's hard to tell what would have happened because I took over. The visualization did still show a left turn path, but I have been in scenarios like this where it does go straight. I might go back there and try it out.
  15. Dave Mac

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

Can you clarify? The car didn't get over in time to make the turn. If not overridden, it would have likely continued straight through the intersection and then re-routed. Anyhow, that is why it is being tested. Should get better with each update.

So far, slowing down looks to be the norm, eve n when others are meeting behind me. Sometime I would prefer it to accelerate. Hope the neural net learns that.

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

Yes, the music bar causes the window to not expand. This is the first time I have done any beta testing, and it took me two days of testing to understand why the UI update / expansion was not happening.

Issues with Tesla app on iPhone 12

Same here with iPhone 12, 5G, AT&T. Temporary solution to turn on 1.1.1.1/WARP free “VPN”. Tried another paid VPN with no luck. May be a DNS issue. Won’t strand you and Bluetooth unlock works but I noticed the issue when trying to use Summon.

    2020.36

A few things: Yellow signs are advisory, not limits, and I don't think this update takes them into account at all. Green light chime only works when NOT on Autopilot behind another car.
  22. Dave Mac

    2020.36

I hope that after it's determined the speed limit feature is proven reliable that there will be a setting to automatically decrease highway speed to match the speed limit (of course with preset buffer). Could help with speeding tickets.

Home charging now stepping down to 24 amps during the charging session

Thanks for adding your comments! I had the exact same thing and was thinking that the connections were not torqued properly and became loose, increasing resistance. However, I do have a question. The wall connected installation manual requires?/recommends the use of ferrules. I have ferrules...

Home charging now stepping down to 24 amps during the charging session

This happened to me last week… The cord going into the wall connector was definitely warm. I opened it he wall connector and it turned out the wire contact into the main terminals was not good and/or had become loose.

    Bluetooth audio/phone notifications

I had this idea and tweeted it to Elon, but it didn’t get any traction. Anyone else think this is a good idea? 2020.4.1 incoming

just my opinion, but the driver of a vehicle in most states is responsible for passengers buckling in... adult or not. And while it’s easy to think that an adult can make their own choice for safety, an unbuckled rear seat passenger can kill you up front in an accident.

    Model 3 Key Fob

I use "Tesla Remote". It's $10, I think, and makes many of the functions of the car available from Shortcuts and/or the Apple Watch. I love it because my hands can be full with groceries and as I am walking to the car I raise my wrist and say "Open the Frunk." Also, when it comes to opening the...

Do Model 3 owners simple not know how to park?

I’ll tell you why I scraped mine while trying to be extra cautious... I always back in to spots now. As others have posted, it actually makes turning angles better for getting into and out of spots. However, I purposely park close to the curb to avoid the many door dingers where I live. Pulling...

    Air fresheners for Model 3

Sorry, the name dropped out. Scent Wedge, as someone else stated above. And yes, I think that's why they got rid of that scent name.

    Air fresheners for Model 3

I bought the original version of this which was called Morning Flow... l liked it but my wife didn't particularly care for the smell. It's hard to buy based on description alone, but I love the concept.

Shocked! Model 3 has no blind spot detection [Update: yes, it does]

It DOES beep, but only if it senses that you are actually changing lanes when a car is in the blindspot and your blinker is on. I rented a car that beeped ANY time there was a car in the blind spot and the turn signal was turned on. Man, it was annoying!

    2019.20.4.1 - Beach Buggy Racing

    AC odor removal and cleaning

After mobile service was cancelled and I got the voicemail, I got a text that the issue would be taken care of with firmware and until that time, just start the HVAC a few minutes before getting in. So, no cleaning but an offer to replace filters for $148. I have since been checking the...

    AC odor removal and cleaning

My mobile service appointment for next week was cancelled because they need to get a tool, and then have offered to do a one-time courtesy cleaning with note about the firmware that is/was coming to fix it. Have any early adopter FSD owners seen an EAP (early access) invite yet?

It's kind of hard to tell the number of people when they aren't allowed to talk about it.
  46. Dave Mac

Have any early adopter FSD owners seen an EAP (early access) invite yet?

True, however, on either a blog post or tweet there was followup that said when "space is available." Which likely means that the are limiting the number of members that participate. May be artificial, but perhaps there is a good reason why they would want to limit to a specific number of people.
  47. Dave Mac

Have any early adopter FSD owners seen an EAP (early access) invite yet?

Ummmm. No. People are getting invited as space is available. As I said.
  48. Dave Mac

    Smart Summon 2019.20.0.1

Yeah, my buddy got an invite to Early access due to FSD purchase. Why he got it and not me (bought much earlier) who knows, maybe based on miles driven and autopilot usage. But the invites are going out.
