How to transport skis safely in Model Y

I did a locker as well but would like to still have a bag when needed. The BMW one does look perfect but like you said I couldn’t find dimensions for it. Not even sure they still sell it. I was also trying to find the dimensions of the pass through for the BMW car that it is designed for but...

How to transport skis safely in Model Y

Did you end up with a solution? I am curious what you ended up getting as I like the ski bag idea, like the BMW one in the photo but not sure what the dimensions are for that. We have 2 adult skis, 1 pair of kids skis, and a kids snowboard that we need to work with.

    Tesla BEV Competition Developments

No clue how this will be able to compete with the model Y. Seems to lack in comparison of most/all metrics and way more expensive. Basically an expensive city car. 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQB 350 4Matic: A Crossover Aimed at Tesla Model Y

Refreshed 2021+ Model X and Model X Plaid waiting room

that sucks...could of also just been a mistake. I always keep a "freeze" on my account/SSN at the 3 credit agencies. This helps protect you in a lot of ways, including what just happened to you as no one can run a credit report unless you unfreeze for them first. Just a thought going forward...

Sounds like just some sort of payroll software glitch. At least the article didn't make any connection between this issue and declining sales/revenue.

Model Y Not Worth the Price Now [Nov 2022]

Similarly, my neighbor had to park her Ford Exhibition on the street for months while waiting for a part to fix a problem with them going up in flames. Of course, now that they fixed the catching on fire issue, her car has died twice while driving around town. However, that is a different issue...

The inventory in NY seems to be dropping faster than I can figure out if I qualify for the $7500. I can't seem to find a good source for what tax year I can base the Income threshold on. Some sources say the lower of 2022 or 2023 and some say the year it was purchased. If I can use 2022 I may...

IRS weighs in on tax rebate, mostly bad news for Model Y

Is the income limit based on 2022 AGI or 2023? I am assuming 2023 but unfortunately that would make it a big unknown if I would qualify until the 2023 year is over.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Can anyone point me somewhere for more information on leasing a Model Y to take advantage of the $7,500 rebate? Good chance we won't qualify due to income limits. My wife, who insisted on buying a 3 row Telluride 2 years ago to carpool our kid's neighborhood friends, now wants a Model Y after I...

Where are you getting the $19.5k and $6.5k profit numbers from? When I bought my Model Y LR (May 2022) for $54k it was said that profit margins were close to 30% on that.

IRS weighs in on tax rebate, mostly bad news for Model Y

I bought my Y LR in May 2022 for $54k. The same car is now $66k. Crazy increase in a short time but makes sense based on the supply/demand dynamics at the time. I am of the opinion that with increased supply, and auto demand shifting back down to more reasonable levels, that they will be forced...

    MY AIRPORT PARKING DRAIN EXPERIENCE

Was just thinking about this today. I have to drive to Philly (4 hrs away) to take a flight and will be leaving my car for a week at an airport hotel in the winter. Glad there were no issues. Never thought about the Wi-Fi.

Lol. Had to google average home price in my area after this thoughtful response about wishing me luck. It’s now $165k. My first house I bought for $110k and sold it for $127k in 2012. Less than a current model X 6 seater. That house was most definitely not in a slum but a nice suburban...

That’s great. Would love to get a model X (in addition to our model Y) but was concerned that my wife wouldn’t like the yoke. Now if they can just lower the 6 seater by $50k+ I should be good to go. Lol. I Still can’t believe what they sell for, about the price of an average home around me...

    Supercharger - Tully, NY

Yeah. Looks like whitney point is getting one also and that is closer to Binghamton. Both Whitney point and Tully could come in handy for me when driving back to Syracuse from a road trip in that direction. Binghamton chargers are slower and not at a great location.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

That is exactly what I have been thinking. My Model LRAWD was purchased for under $55k MSRP 8 months ago. I am assuming they made a large profit on it. At the volumes they want to sell this seems almost inevitable to me even before this arbitrary EV rebate.

    Supercharger - Tully, NY

Drove by Friday and saw all the SC installed with no fence (at least I didn’t notice one as I drove by). Wonder how long it will take to activate them. Could come in handy for me coming back from Philly in February.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The difference in price between the AWD and AWD LR would be $18,500. Demand for the LR would evaporate imo. People will only want to buy EVs that get the $7500. Except for people that aren’t eligible due to income.

IRS definitions of what's a car vs SUV by manufacturer for $55k vs $80k price limit

Well that explains it. Lol. I don’t think that is typical for a family of 4/5.
  29. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

A bunch of Model Y 5 seaters just popped up in inventory in my area. I wonder if this is due to it not being eligible for the $7500 and people canceling their order. I bought my model Y for $54k and I believe the current price of $67k will be a tough sell, especially without the $7500. IMO.

IRS definitions of what's a car vs SUV by manufacturer for $55k vs $80k price limit

Good point. It’s been cold and I pre condition it usually. I also notice that some days the car says I used 3% of battery in standby and some days its 0% overnight. Not sure what causes that.

IRS definitions of what's a car vs SUV by manufacturer for $55k vs $80k price limit

My tesla app says I charged 309kwh in the last 31 days. But that only seems to account for half my off peak usage. Not sure what the other half is from considering off peak is when I am sleeping.

For December yes, does fluctuate and December was about double as November.
  33. C

IRS definitions of what's a car vs SUV by manufacturer for $55k vs $80k price limit

Yeah. there is a $17 flat monthly connection fee plus taxes. The off peak rates are pretty good. November rates was about $0.05 and December was about $0.085 per kWh. About 2/3 of my electricity use is off peak.
  34. C

IRS definitions of what's a car vs SUV by manufacturer for $55k vs $80k price limit

880 kWH for November and 1020 kWh for December. December electric rates went up a lot compared to November. Most of it is during off peak hours as I switched to a TOU plan when I got my Model Y.

I live in in a 2800 sq ft house (finished portion) in Liverpool. Here are my last 2 bills. Electricity rates have gone up a lot over the last 6 months. But Didn’t realize electricity rates would be that much different when we are only like 30 minutes apart. We love that area that you live...

He lives in CNY, no where near NYC. Might as well be 2 different states (cost of living wise, etc). I live in the same area and his expenses are multiples of ours. IRS definitions of what's a car vs SUV by manufacturer for $55k vs $80k price limit

Damn. I don’t live that far from you and those numbers are multiples of what we pay as a family of 4. I am assuming you have the same utility company, etc. Property taxes are indeed stupid high in our area.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

The joke will be on them if tesla sells a Model Y AWD LR for under $55k to get the subsidy. They would break all kinds of sales records in the US and would crush ID4 (and other comparable EVs) sales. Especially if they offer a 2WD standard range for even less. Someone more knowledgeable then...
  39. C

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Was thinking the same thing. Not sure if it would be needed but if tesla could drop the price back down to $55k (and still make a healthy profit) they would sell like crazy. That is what I paid for my Y and would pick one up for my wife if that happened. These arbitrary MSRP amounts are stupid...

    Rivian vs Model Y

I love the rivian vehicles but this is my biggest concern. Non tesla charging in the areas I travel aren’t close to where they need to be for me to take my family on a road trip. That and the nearest SC is 5 hours away. Now if they somehow struck a deal with tesla and had tesla charge ports...

NO Tesla Super Chargers on New York Thruway

    Unbiased 2-month review of 2022 Model Y

Good point...so when you go to the tesla main page you don't have both options? Or if you click on Model Y and scroll down you don't have both options? Maybe areas they have high inventory they aren't allowing custom orders, I find this unlikely but possible I suppose. Just seems weird that he...
