Does anyone have data on how quickly their Black Model 3 cools while in the sun >80F?

After the fix, I ran another test. outside temp 67, set to LOW 4:08 - 78 4:10 - 67 4:12 - 61 So, in this test, the cabin dropped to 6 degrees cooler than outside in 4 minutes. In my first test, it did this in 20 minutes. However, the outside temperature differences (and also the sun - it's a...

Does anyone have data on how quickly their Black Model 3 cools while in the sun >80F?

I took it into a different service center. They definitely tried much harder at finding the problem. They just updated me today: They will have to reschedule another service visit for me when the part arrives. I'm hoping that this can get figured out before summer warm weather is over and it'll...

Does anyone have data on how quickly their Black Model 3 cools while in the sun >80F?

No, but willing to try. I'll look for a guide. That does sound like a plausible idea.

Does anyone have data on how quickly their Black Model 3 cools while in the sun >80F?

Good thought. Appreciate all the ideas. The vent fan definitely adjusts on auto though. Usually it hovers at around 9 out of 11 then lowers a couple as it approaches (but almost never reaches) set temperature. In fact, my wife frequently takes it off of AUTO and lowers the fan speed -...

Does anyone have data on how quickly their Black Model 3 cools while in the sun >80F?

Hey that's a thought. I did replace the stock micro-usb (or USB-C?) phone charger/holder with a custom wireless charger one. The door is most likely open. I'll have to report back tomorrow on that one, assuming the service center doesn't respond to my message about whether or not I should leave...

Does anyone have data on how quickly their Black Model 3 cools while in the sun >80F?

    That does seem like it shouldn't be the problem, but hey I'm running another test now anyway. Test 2 Outside Temperature 87.8 °F Cabin Set to 68F 5:04pm 108F start 5:06pm 92F 5:08pm 83F 5:10pm 80F 5:12pm 79F 5:14pm 78F 5:16pm 77F 5:18pm 76F 5:20pm 76F 5:22pm 76F 5:24pm 75F 20 minutes, 108F -...

Does anyone have data on how quickly their Black Model 3 cools while in the sun >80F?

Thank you, good point. I cannot confirm since the car is in the lot, but I believe the car AC is currently set to AUTO. That's where it was when I left it with them. I'm sure they would use AUTO in their diagnosing of the issue too.

Does anyone have data on how quickly their Black Model 3 cools while in the sun >80F?

Outdoor temp, 85F. Mostly sunny, a little bit of overcast. Will add details to the original post.

Does anyone have data on how quickly their Black Model 3 cools while in the sun >80F?

I have Pre-Heat pump AC. My Model 3 is from 2018.

Does anyone have data on how quickly their Black Model 3 cools while in the sun >80F?

My car is at the service center right now for this issue. They reportedly fixed it. Before going to pick it up, I turned the AC on LOW. The AC mode (I'm reasonably certain) was set to AUTO and measured the temperature ever 2 minutes. Clearly it's not fixed. After 20 minutes, the interior...

Possible to charge Tesla (car) with excess solar generation?

You can absolutely do this with no 3rd party software, including if you're pre-PTO (when it makes the most sense). I'm doing it now. You do have to take your system off-grid, but you can return it to the grid whenever. I believe this is a new feature. I've been messing around with it for a few...

My MCU is dead, cannot turn off heat or close sunroof. Replacement part: "possibly a few weeks"

@EV-Fixme Thank you, I had a success story using this third party vendor. Pretty quick turnaround too. 9 days, shipped across the country. Only thing so far as I can tell that wasn't recovered was my trips.

Wiki Consolidated eMMC Thread (MCU repair) (Black Center Screen)

@EV-Fixme Thank you for a successful recovery and replacement of my eMMC. My story: My MCU is dead, cannot turn off heat or close sunroof. Replacement part: "possibly a few weeks"

My MCU is dead, cannot turn off heat or close sunroof. Replacement part: "possibly a few weeks"

An update. I didn't attempt pulling out the fuse, but I disconnected the 12v and high voltage battery for about 2 hrs while disassembling the trim to get to the MCU to send the Tegra board out for repair. When I reinstalled the MCU and connected the 12v/high voltage battery, the climate control...

    2015/AC won’t turn off/screen won’t turn on/can’t reboot via steering wheel!

I am dealing with the same issue. Instead of waiting for a full MCU replacement, I went the route of pulling out the MCU and sending the Tegra board to a 3rd party repair. In doing so, the high voltage and 12v batteries were disconnected. When I put the MCU back in (without the Tegra board), the...

My MCU is dead, cannot turn off heat or close sunroof. Replacement part: "possibly a few weeks"

The key fob still is able to open the trunk. First I'm going to try the MCU fuse. If I can't get the heat off, then I'm going to try disconnecting both the fireman's loop and the 12v battery. If I'm understanding others correctly, disconnecting the fireman's loop but not the 12v battery would...

My MCU is dead, cannot turn off heat or close sunroof. Replacement part: "possibly a few weeks"

I have been having phone app connectivity issues which lead Tesla service team to believe my MCU was dying. It has been months since my app was able to connect to the vehicle. Sure enough, the day before scheduled to take it in, we had the sunroof vented and were poking around at the fireplace...

Feature Request: Automatically Roll Up Windows When It Start Raining

Alright, it may be plausible that if they wired the child locks to the ICU, the power is also wired. It still may not be the case though.

Feature Request: Automatically Roll Up Windows When It Start Raining

Something that you all seem to be missing. Are the windows even connected to the rest of the system? Is there any way to roll up/down the windows other than pressing the window up/down buttons on the door? If not, it's a hardware limitation. You can't send a signal to open/close the window if...

    Winter Driver: Extremely hazardous

I have to assume that you were using the windshield defroster wrong, and were blowing COLD air onto your windshield rather than warm.

    Supercharger - Breezewood, PA

Confirmed operational! 4 signs say 15 minute general parking, 4 signs say Tesla parking only, one is a handicap spot. Breezewood supercharger opens today 8/25/17

    Supercharger - Breezewood, PA

Heading in that direction, will plug in and report back in about an hour. Could have shortened my trip a bit had I caught wind of this earlier :) Maybe I'll be the first to test it out!?

    Supercharger - Laurel, MD

There are two electrical contractor vans on site right now with a few people working. Not sure what the deal is.

    Supercharger - Erie, PA

I drove by a few weeks ago. No sign of movement. There was still snow on the ground though. Erie has rough winters that have been known to last until May, especially with snow.

    Supercharger - Erie, PA

It seems that there are just so many routes that an Erie SC would make more possible. I would love to see an Erie supercharger, or somewhere in the area. There are tons of food options and shopping outlets on Peach street, and lots of parking lots that only fill during the most popular shopping...
