    Has Autopilot gotten worse recently?

I've learned watching Scan my Tesla's reported value for max regen during the last few weeks that available regen moves around a lot for my conditions. State of Charge seems less important than I'd have expected, battery temperature matters, and recent power flow in both directions matters a...

    Cabin Camera Blinded Error

Just exactly what did you tell them as the "presenting complaint". Also, can you tell us any more specific description of the replacement part? Part No? Text ID... Thanks, I'm planning to attempt (for a second time) to get this fixed on my early 2022 Fremont build model Y, and am hoping not...

Winter preconditioning and max regenerative braking

Misunderstanding. You are probably misreading kW as Amperes. There is no Wall connector which can get up to anywhere near 48 kW. But 48 Amperes at whatever voltage your 240 connection delivers is probably your maximum power.

Window exploded while parked for Level 2 charging

Easy--it is just the ambient air pressure for your elevation. 14.7 psi for you folks at sea level. 11.7 for sitting over a mile high near Albuquerque.

Wiki FSD Beta v11.x: Anticipation & Discussion

I have had FSDb on one car since June 2022, and added another at the turn of this year. I estimate I've had FSDb engaged for about 80% of the miles driven in that time. Yes, it does strange things often, and alarming things now and again that keep me on my toes. But I believe in the current...

Tesla Total Loss - Looking at Options, everything murky, looking for guidance

I took delivery in early November of a 2023 model 3 RWD built in Fremont in mid-October 2022. It has no USS.

Question: How do you start FSD ??

Back when I had FSDb available and activated, but had not adjusted the setting under Autopilot|Navigate on Autopilot|Customize Navigate on Autopilot to activate the "Enable at start of every trip option" I occasionally forgot to tap the little half-blue icon near the bottom of the trip to turn...

Question: How do you start FSD ??

You can be either stationary or moving--but you need to see the little greyed-out Tesla icon at the right end of the row of icons at the top left of the left screen. It seems to me that the main thing that makes that icon go away is lacking proper lane marking in the immediate driving view...

    FSD Beta 10.69

I tried to pull for my Y a bit over a half hour ago after I saw the reports in this thread, but the Tesla push had beat me to it--already downloaded.

Winter preconditioning and max regenerative braking

Just in the last couple of weeks I've been driving mostly our model 3 and sometimes our model Y with Scan My Tesla running. Of the well over a hundred parameters available, I've found the Max Regen value (kW) to be the most surprisingly informative. I'm bringing it into this discussion because...

My point is that failure to engage could give the behavior described by pdubs. Do you disagree?

    FSD Beta 10.69

Any chance you don't have FSDb actually enabled for the trip? Specifically is this icon showing looking this way at the bottom of the trip stuff on the right two-thirds of the screen? The way I had my autopilot section options configured early on, FSDb was only enabled for a trip if I tapped...

    Report Map Errors?

Other forum participants have reported that Tesla uses map data from TomTom and/or OSM (OpenStreetMaps). I have attempted to report a serious speed limit error (45 mph indicated by Tesla on a 65 mph Interstate) on TomTom many months ago, but so far it has not "taken". I hope people will post...

Tesla cuts prices in China, Japan, South Korea and Australia; will the US be next?

The Tuesday, January 10, 2023 edition of the Financial Times has a story about protest demonstrations in multiple cities across China. The protestors are people who purchased Teslas who think the company's recent price cuts have slashed the value of their cars.

What are your most common intervention scenarios?

So far as I can tell, FSDb slows on a programmed deceleration profile, which most of us think is far, far too gradual. Confusingly, it uses the same profile regardless of elevation change, so if you are going uphill it will actually consume propulsion power to avoid having Isaac Newton gravity...

    Cabin Camera Blinded Error

I took the Y around the neighborhood on the same path for which the 3 succeeded two days ago. For my first two trials, it ran for well under a minute before getting the read hands of death, autosteer aborted. Cabin camera ... errors. After those two, I turned on my after-market illuminator...

2018 Model 3 LR RWD Charging limited to 32 amps?

My gen3 woke up set for a 60A breaker. I actually had a 60A breaker, and would have been happier doing nothing, as my electrician spurned the instruction claim that he should do it, and I found getting through the hoops confusing and awkward. This was about April, 2022.

Question about the red blind spot car. Intermittently working?

If you are in autosteer, your activation of the turn signal is just a suggestion to the automation that it make a lane change when the coast is clear. The car takes the responsibility for noticing potentially conflicting traffic and fits the car into available space. So you can (and I do)...

    Cabin Camera Blinded Error

I've got a February 2022 build model Y which had the false camera obstructed autosteer abort problem as soon as I got FSDb running in June 2022. I had aborts at a consistent place on a major six-lane arterial road, and even once on an urban interstate. My dark neighborhood (no street lights...

    FSD Beta 10.69

As an FSDb user since June 2022, one of my "surely they can do better" gripes has been the failure to use throttle management to gain position for needed lane changes. Just in the last release or two I've actually seen it ease up in speed to use a gap behind an otherwise conflict car at least...

What are your most common intervention scenarios?

The OP posed the question as "most common intervention", but I think most people are answering something else--some are giving the behaviors they most dislike, and others listing disengagement reasons. My most common interventions are what I call "nudges"--ways I influence the behavior, without...

Auto high beams still comically bad

The behavior I see differs from that. There is indeed a threshold at 25 mph. But it is sticky. In other words, Once I've got high beams enabled by being over 25 mph for just a moment, the high beams stay active until something (usually a detected car) causes them to go low. Once low they...

don't want media controls in the app [solved]

Thanks. Found this in both cars on both profiles. The key points for me were: 1. The way in is the setting icon for media playing which looks like a sketch of sliders 2. Once in the settings, if you are looking at tone controls select instead "options" by tapping that in the list at left. 3. I...

don't want media controls in the app [solved]

The security section lacks a data sharing portion on my release. The software page does have a data sharing control section, but it does not address this. To all: I'm not embarrassed at my wife seeing what radio station I am listening to--we both just consider these controls a distraction, a...

don't want media controls in the app [solved]

If my wife is driving our Y, the app on my iPhone shows me media controls for her audio. Likewise, if I am driving our 3, the Tesla app on her Android phone shows what I'm playing on the radio, and gives her media controls for it. We don't value this function, and would like to make it...

    Cabin Camera Blinded Error

The model Y we got in March 2022 and for which we got FSDb in June has had the camera blinded error right along from the beginning. I bought an IR source and a clamp, and we have gotten by using my own light source when we drive at night. Our new model 3 was built in Fremont in mid-October...

2022.40.4.1 am I screwed out of FSD beta?

It came true for me. Right now 2022.40.4.10 is installing on my model 3, which has never before gotten FSDb software. The software which was on it as of this morning was 2022.40.4.2. Teslafi current counts 26 subscribers who have made this particular version-to-version transition, along with...

    FSD Beta 10.69

Another 74 year old here. I've driven a thousand or or so miles in FSDb since June, mostly in Albuquerque. I currently think me driving in FSDb, and closely monitoring it, is a safer situation than either of us driving alone. I'm curious enough to watch to see what FSDb will do, and wary...

2022.40.4.1 am I screwed out of FSD beta?

the rollout of the current deployment candidate on the double-stack path (2022.40.4.10/10.69.3.3) seems to be progressing a bit differently than the pattern I've gotten used to. Relying on TeslaFi reporting: First a single installation (presumably one employee) A few days later a small number...

    FSD Beta 10.69

The one of those that really caught my eye was 2022.28.300. That has the form of a factory build number, and is in fact the factory build delivered on my 3 that was built mid-October and reached my hands November 3. This is interesting because until now I have seen zero credible evidence of...

    FSD Beta 10.69

For city streets I nominate just one pair of things: Get (much) better on school zones. Pending actually handling them almost right, actively detect them, warn the driver that the system can't handle school zones properly and that the driver must take full control immediately. The current...

    FSD Beta 10.69

I think instead of relying on "mother nature" to bleed off the speed it actively works to get a preset deceleration profile in this circumstance. If you are on a moderate upgrade when you go by the speed limit change, try watching the power bar. You'll actually see it spending acceleration...

PSA You will NOT get into the FSD beta if you already have 2022.24 or higher.

I think you are doubly blocked from getting FSDb by your current version. 1. 2022.40.200 is a factory build, and so far as I can see from TeslaFi software tracker there have been zero recent instances of a car going straight from ANY factory build to ANY FSDb build. Folks posting on this forum...

Pickup experience; what can I expect?

I actually got an M3 on November 3, but today ran into an aspect of the pickup experience. For New Mexico cars delivered to the Nambe center north of Santa Fe, for legal reasons the car is delivered with a Colorado paper plate, and you later go to a DMV office and use the registration packet...

Wiki MASTER THREAD: Actual FSD Beta downloads and experiences

I think the current school zone situation in FSDb is shameful. It does not even try to get them right around here, and it gives no warning. I actually think it should be able to figure out it is in a school zone situation it cannot handle properly, and give driver alert: something like "School...

Can Limited Regenerative Braking Be A Sign Of Anything Bad?

do we just have to wait for next release of FSD beta to everyone now?

I'm in a similar situation as you, but with far fewer miles. Our currently installed version of 2022.28.300 is a factory software build--not one that is sent as an update to existing customers. There are assertions on this forum that so far Tesla has never taken a car straight from a factory...

    FSD Beta 10.69

They clearly are using customer feedback a lot. The key question is whether the incidents tagged by people pushing that button add value to their improvement competitively with incidents identified in other ways. I think a key problem is that the customer button push stream has been heavily...

2022.40.4.1 am I screwed out of FSD beta?

Did you in fact drop out of the FDSb request queue by hitting the button in the car, then sign back up by hitting it again?? Do you think visiting the software page triggered the actual moment of download when you had become eligible?

Can Limited Regenerative Braking Be A Sign Of Anything Bad?

Thanks. The Y is on FSDb, and only quite recently got a software version that includes that function. I had neglected to turn it on--and thanks to you--now I have. I hope the 3 will move on from the factory build to one that includes that function soon.

Can Limited Regenerative Braking Be A Sign Of Anything Bad?

I've got a 2023 model 3 RWD I picked up in early November. I see alerts of limited regeneration A LOT. Sometimes it is the dots, and sometimes it is the popup text message. Oddly enough those two forms of notification don't seem to accord well with each other. In particular, while I nearly...

12 volt may or may not die before I can get it replaced🤷‍♂️

Well--if there are no reports of waiting a good while before failure here, it is probably because those people did not think it worth starting a thread to post about it. My own single hearsay sample is that of a pretty early S owner (he got his second S shortly after dual-motor was offered, and...

2022.40.4.1 am I screwed out of FSD beta?

We got there by different paths, but I agree that it may be we are in essentially the same situation. My guess is that the "you are up to date" message in this case is what we see because the infamous 24-hour delay window is in effect. Since we both got 2022.40.4.1 pushed to us before, at that...

2022.40.4.1 am I screwed out of FSD beta?

I forgot to check that right away, but have now, and it advises that I am enrolled in the queue, and should touch the button if I want to opt out. I still see the Safety Score in my app, though that will be more comforting as to my status once I've accumulated some new reported drives. Fingers...

2022.40.4.1 am I screwed out of FSD beta?

So this afternoon, after waiting for more wisdom and pondering my options, I did the Software re-install. The total time was quite a bit shorter than the usual time to install new software, and most of it was spent with a progress bar showing in a single fixed position (maybe 55%-ish) and...
