    Tire shop recommendations ?

I've used Crothers Tire in Whitinsville (Crothers Tire :: Whitinsville MA Tires & Auto Repair Shop) for the last 6 years on my Teslas. They've been great. Great prices on the tires, careful on the jack points and inexpensive on the rotations/swaps. May be out of the way for many people but its...

Right, that would be the reasonable/normal thing to do.

Beware driving in New England with a Enterprise loaner on the Pike!

If you use a transponder in MA for a car thats not listed on your account you can get a ticket. I found that out the hard way a long time ago. Adding the loaner from your mobile phone while you're getting it isnt a good process for a number of reasons. As I said, I have no problem paying the...

Beware driving in New England with a Enterprise loaner on the Pike!

I ran into the exact same thing. The local Enterprise guy on site at Tesla did not tell me to use my own transponder (I told him I drive a lot and would be on the pike a lot and he still didnt mention the toll issue). I opened a support Ticket with Enterprise as they said I should have been told...

Scheduling Service Watertown and Dedham Online is a Mess

Watertown stopped responding to emails for me. So did Dedham. The call wait times are crazy. I scheduled with Dedham and got an apt 3 weeks out. It went in Monday and they haven't gotten to it yet. Even though I got a spot, they had no availability to work on it at that time. Fortunately, I...

Home delivery to NH from Dedham

I live more than 30 miles from delivery (Dedham or Watertown) but in MA. I picked mine up myself and I'd recommend it. I found a number of things on delivery and their process for "documented at delivery" vs not is not good (I've bought 2).

Old TPMS with new Model S

Tire Rack had the ones for the new car. Old/2014 Model S85: New 2018 Model S75D: $242.25 delivered. Will confirm once they're in and installed that they did the trick in case anyone else goes through the same thing.

Old TPMS with new Model S

Thanks for all the responses. Does anyone have links/recommended sensors for current generation (2018 S75D) model? Car did great in the 3-4 inches we have today but it will be like a snowmobile with AWD + my Nokkians once I sort out the TPMS stuff :)

Old TPMS with new Model S

Hi folks, I have a new 2018 Model S75D and Winter Tires/Wheels from my old 2014 Model S. Those have the older TPMS sensors in them that were compatible with the older 2014 Model S. So a few questions: Will those older TPMS sensors work with the new Model S, or do I need to buy new TPMS...

    No front plate?

I went without for 4 years but now MA requires the inspectors to video and take pictures of the inspection so I couldn't find anyone to pass it now. I attached it cleanly with no drilling with 3 zip ties.

New England Model 3 Configuration Invites

Wait, people live in the middle of the country too? (just kidding). No idea. It sure doesn't seem like its rolling east from CA if there's nobody in the middle with invites. Some existing owners must have been early in line in those states too.

New England Model 3 Configuration Invites

I'm an existing Tesla owner and placed my order 3/31/16 early in the line. Just got my invite to configure/order today. They're promising 4-week delivery timeline. I'm not ordering as I want AWD. So it will likely sit for 6-8 months. Figured people would be interested in the timing etc.

    Dedham/Watertown Service with Aftermarket Wheels

We have some really rough roads where I live (between Providence and Worcester) and the 19's have been fine with all the potholes etc. I'm not concerned about the tire size for that (21's I would be). I like the looks of the 19's a bit better on on the 3 right now and i'm guessing there wont be...

    Dedham/Watertown Service with Aftermarket Wheels

Thanks! The 19" TSTs have been great and have held up well and through some rough months of snow , sand, ice etc over the years. I'm not sure yet which direction I'll go on the 3. Please send me the link via the "Share Trip" option and send to rob at evtripping.com. Usually, the issue is too conservative a margin has been set and the car can't make one of the hops. The user base may grow (I have about 5,000 users now) but so would my costs and there would be a lot more people kicking the tires who don't own Tesla's etc which would add to my server load and costs. Model S maintenance is more expensive than gas cars?

They just call it an "Annual service" and base it off your mileage. The cost of each service depends on the mileage milestone: Maintenance Plans They've had no issues at all with my mileages between services (first 2 were 30K between, last one was "only" 20K).

Model S maintenance is more expensive than gas cars?

Simple solution, don't buy the service plan. I have 80K miles on mine and I just do annual services other than normal (non-Tesla) tire rotations. Total service cost for 3 years/80K miles: $1,750 (3 annuals).
  33. tliving

Service Question - No Answer from Tesla

Hmm, I have a different approach to service. I've got 80K on the car and I go in once a year for service. Last one was $750. Yes, there's a bunch of little crap they do that isn't worth it but each time they've found and fixed (for free) things I didn't expect. While I wish they better justified...

    Model S REST API

Yes, Apple actually recommended that these apps support multiple vendors to avoid the "single vendor focus" issue. The problem is most other vendors have no API or a much smaller user base. Its also much more work for those small vendors making the apps to do that, plus they may have to...

    Model S REST API

If you dig in with Apple (which I've done) they actually plan on rejecting all apps that are specific to a single market/vendor unless that vendor (Tesla in this case) submits or approves the app (against Tesla's policy). That means "FooBar" would be rejected if its an app for tesla users only...

Annual service price increased by 50%

Tesla's recommended service interval is every 12,500 miles or 12 months whichever comes first. It does not void the warranties if you skip it, but there are special cases for leases and the buy back guarantee that may apply (neither apply to me so I never looked into them). I drive about ~30K...

Hartford has a SC, and Worcester area has a SC and they're like ~1h apart. If you're stopping in this range i'd just charge up while the pack is warm at one of those two and then hit a hotel. No reason to mess with plugshare/destination chargers when the SC options are reasonable.

    36K time for new tires

I just bought tires and compared Tesla vs Tire Rack vs Local. Tesla's price for the same tires is pretty competitive, but they offer no options. To install, balance, etc they wanted $125 for the set of 4. Tire rack estimates $25/tire so thats not far off. In the end my local tire shop was...

    36K time for new tires

Just got mine put on this am. They said to give them about 1,000 miles to really settle in before making any strong judgement calls on them.
