    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

The mental gymnastics to make sense of the stupidest decision in recent automotive history is just baffling. It's horrible, it's terrible, it's unexplainable. If it was a drive-by-wire system; all of this would be different. But it REALLY is just another, shittier shape for a steering wheel...

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

If you're living in a rural/suburban area - and you're just going through suburban roads - you're likely gonna be having a D- experience but still passes. Yoke completely fails on where modern humanity lives - cities. I live in a house with an alley, getting out of my garage is a min 3-point...

    Crossclimate 2 dry traction?

I have, rears are wider. 255/45R19 front tires and 285/40R19 rear tires

I have 19 too and no, rears are wider

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

This is great! I really enjoy the small wheel of 3/y - and getting something a bit larger, but smaller than the truck-like wheels of previous S's is great. Do you know what the previous (12-20) s wheel dimensions were?

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

Great! You don't have to. For all the rest of us, this should have been how a the $100k+ car was launched

How is my '22 MSLR in the snow?

The problem remains that CC2's which are my favorite tires and are on every other car I have (or had since they came out) don't fit the width of these wheels. So i'd have to get a new set of wheels that are narrower (although I did not see an option to do that on tirerack even when buying new...

How is my '22 MSLR in the snow?

Ah that sounds good. I guess width doesn't make that much of a difference. I'll probably do this when it's time to switch tires unless cross climate comes in the right sizes by then

    Steering Wheel / Yoke option

So so so happy about the yoke. Cannot wait. Can fing not

How is my '22 MSLR in the snow?

How much did that run you? Also as someone who loved cars and had them for 20 years, I never replaced wheels - what happens once you do that? Are there a bunch of updates / alignments you have to do (e.g. changing odometer calculations etc.)
  14. K

How is my '22 MSLR in the snow?

I have found none in my area offers to do this. Perhaps I need to think about the suburbs or more rural ones?
  15. K

    Crossclimate 2 dry traction?

How do you get them to be put on Model S LR? Checking Michelin's webpaage, or tirerack seems to suggest that I can't do these on my '22 LRs?
  16. K

How is my '22 MSLR in the snow?

Where do you keep an extra set of tires when you don't need them? I live in a very urban city - no way to do that in a reasonable way

    Rekt

Sorry to hear! Can you tell us what kind of tires were on the car? Summers?

App stuck showing me an "old" service appointment (a month old) not allowing me to schedule new service

I'm sorry if I came off as dumb/tech-illiterate. What I saw was the first attachment - no way to type anything. I had to call them and stay on line for 56 minutes for them to "close it in the backend". L1 tech couldn't do it, had to escalate. Insane.

App stuck showing me an "old" service appointment (a month old) not allowing me to schedule new service

Hello folks - just trying to get some help with the app. It's stuck with an "OLD" appointment from a month ago; which means I can't open a new service request However, when I click on the "old" upcoming appointment, this page is what I see. What do I do? I couldn't find any way to reach Tesla...

2022 Model S deliver in September. Windshield distortion

All of it - including rattles - I cannot wait for my R1S. It's still showing '24 though :(

2022 Model S deliver in September. Windshield distortion

I did also get my windshield replaced (just once) and yeah, the distortion is there still. At least it moved to the passenger side, so I'm not going insane / crazy anymore. Cannot wait for my R1S or id.buzz

Thoughts on Yoke from Plaid owner

With the yoke, and terribly frustrating customer service - I just want _any other reasonable EV_ as my next car. However, the regular updates ("the cute stuff" as mentioned above); the range, and the existing state of tech -> the competition is simply too far behind. Rivian is likely the most...

Weird buzzing sound after updating to 2022.24.6 [Fixed in 2022.36.1]

It's crazy to me that you write about this so often, but your car doesn't even make the noise... Man that's strange

Weird buzzing sound after updating to 2022.24.6 [Fixed in 2022.36.1]

Please let Tesla know you have the issue too. The way most tech companies works is just be loud until someone's making it a priority

Weird buzzing sound after updating to 2022.24.6 [Fixed in 2022.36.1]

Had the service tech come out and say "the sound is normal" and when I said it started after an update; he said "weird isn't it" Then he proceeded to destroy my wood trim as he was fixing a window rattle. He was a nice person / guy; but what a shitty day; and the damn buzz is OF COURSE still...

So when you're moving around in town, you don't get the "bed springs" kinda noise at all?

    [MS-LR '22] Suspension-y noises?

My car is about 3000 miles in; since a while now, I noticed "suspension-y" noises coming in. I took the car in, and service claimed that it was loose "mud flaps" rubbing. So I took the mud flaps off. The noises are still there. It's closest described as a "old bed sound" when I am driving...

Weird buzzing sound after updating to 2022.24.6 [Fixed in 2022.36.1]

I think you should write to the service folks - the more people do it the more Tesla knows about it. Yelling here is convenient and relaxing, but not helpful :/

Weird buzzing sound after updating to 2022.24.6 [Fixed in 2022.36.1]

Ugh, what's the best way of getting Tesla to acknowledge and make a plan to fix this? It's pretty infuriating.

Torklift Ecohitch Stealth for Refreshed 2021 Model S

I'm very happy with mine, used it a few times already. I think you should go ahead with it.

2021 Refreshed Model S - steering wheel yolk material peeling off?

It's a car of which they raised the prices $25k since launch. The parts cost less than $10. It's hubris and bad decision making by the selfish, childish ignoramus at the helm.
  41. K

2021 Refreshed Model S - steering wheel yolk material peeling off?

I hope that this is the main reason they offer a circular retrofit. It's pretty frustrating not to have the regular option. I'm getting "yoke completer" installed this week - I don't want to spend ~3k for a circular wheel just yet!

Exporting a Model S Plaid to France

I'm not sure they'll be able to sell with the yoke though, has that been cleared?

    Model S rear window distortion?

Everyone has this. Search the forums for "distortion" and you'll find that there is literally no solution. $100k starting price!
