MAJOR breakthrough in HVAC control (heating with single occupant)

Definitely gonna try this on my commute tomorrow. 2018 LR RWD 3 here. I’ve noticed with the new energy graph update it always recommends me to run my temps at 22°C (71°F) to reduce climate control activity. My settings are: 19°C (66°F), recirc off, blower set to 1 or 2, directed only at my...

Play/Clunk when rotating rear wheels back and forth

Saw this video outlining the same issue on an LR RWD. Will ask Tesla and see what they say. I don’t hear the noise while driving and changing from Drive to Reverse.

Play/Clunk when rotating rear wheels back and forth

Had the car up on jacks and heading a distinct clunk when spinning the rear wheel back and forth. Seen a YouTube video that states it’s normal but wanted a second opinion. 2018 Long Range RWD w/ about 90000kms. Video below for reference:

Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

Readout from December 20th. Issue is resolved! Been told to continue monitoring so I'll update this as needed. So far, I haven't seen anything out of the ordinary. A nearly year long issue finally resolved...

Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

After a few weeks of remote diagnosis from the engineering team, they began troubleshooting the issue to see if it was a fleet wide issue affecting VINs in my range. They however didn't confirm that they saw this behaviour in other VINs close to mine (029XXX). Engineering recommended a full car...

Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

The parts finally arrived on October 7th. Turns out it wasn't just the VC_FRONT module. They replaced all controllers in the front of the car. A front left, front right, and the main front controller about $1250CAD of work honoured under warranty. It didn't fix the issue. After a few more...

2017 Model 3 failed CCS upgrade

Did you figure out what caused the issue? I’m also curious as to how you reversed the mod. Did you just unplug the gen 4 ECU + bundleofwires, pop in the old ECU. Then reinstall software via service mode?

Model 3 odd sleep / wake behavior

I've been dealing with something like this since Jan 2022. My issue can be tracked here: Multiple Issues with Model 3. Mine turned out to be a hardware issue. I'm still waiting on the part but let me say that this issue can be a nightmare depending on your service centre. I had a terrible...

Did Tesla change windshield (between 2019 and 2022)?

I have a 2018 LR RWD 3. Had a windshield replacement back in 2019 and the part was listed as: "M3 WSHLD ASSY LHD BASE IR PVB 4.5MM 1 (1466270-00-C)" Unfortunately had another bad hit and getting my 2nd replacement today. The part is listed as: "WSHLD ASSY LEFT HAND DRIVE IR ACOUSTIC NO...

Exact same experience. Very silent on any correspondence. But the moment I opened a case on PayPal they were quick to get irritated. Not impressed by that company at all. They stopped replying to me on PayPal and only through Facebook messenger was I able to get a hold and cancel my order...

About a week ago, they told me they’d be on holidays from Monday to Wednesday. Looks like they finally got around to fulfilling my order. Guessing they have a bunch to catch up on.

Just got the order placed on my account via Harumio. Checked my Korean orders on my account and they have placed it for me.

    CCS1 from TESPLUS

You can still place a custom order via the customer order panel. It’s a bit dicey because they want your tesla account credentials to place the order. I think it’s either for verifying you own a Tesla (checking for VIN) and aren’t misusing it for resale or to physically use your account to order...

I put in a PayPal dispute to cancel the TESPLUS charger, they're AFK on all channels. Stay away from TESPLUS at all costs, HAutopart seems to at least respond back. Luckily, I used an Amex with PayPal so it shouldn't be too hard to recover the funds. Meanwhile I'm having mine fulfilled by...

Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

Tesla found my VC_FRONT or Front Body Controller to be faulty. I've got an appointment (pending the part availability) for it to be replaced. Will report back if it does fix my issue. Logically speaking it makes sense (but so have some previous fixes). VC_FRONT receives a connection from the 12V...

It's not a replica. It's an OEM Tesla CCS1 Adapter. Someone asked them that question on the product page. Unless they're lying, which I doubt. https://www.hautopart.com/products/pre-sale-tesla-ccs-combo-1-adapter-for-usa-dc-fast-charging?_pos=1&_psq=CCS&_ss=e&_v=1.0

I just placed an order via PayPal and Amex. I’ve never used them before but they seem legit. I’ll let you know as I receive updates but they charged me the amount immediately. Canadian supercharging prices are nuts. We get billed by time not usage. Supercharging can get very expensive in the...

Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

Yeah, the car does this weird behaviour even if I turn off Mobile Access in the car. Definitely not an external ping causing this. I took TeslaFi and TeslaMate offline as soon as the issue became apparent. PW has been reset maybe 5 or 6 times in the last few months. Hoping that they find the...

Appreciate you providing this info. I wonder if mine is FW related or something else, my screen also goes black from time to time before starting a drive and takes about 3-4 mins to come online... Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

Like I already said, I had my 12V replaced just over a month ago. I had to pay out of pocket for it because Tesla insisted there was nothing wrong with my 4 year old 12V. It made no difference much like they suspected. I also have a battery monitor taking readouts and I’ve attached the...

Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

Update on the issue, it still persists. I moved from Victoria to Mississauga and the service centre here said they saw an issue with the coaxial cable running from the MCU to my car display. It was replaced and I was very hopeful. Alas no change. I have another appointment scheduled. Let's see...

Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

Update. I had the 12V battery replaced. Tesla also replaced my relative temperature and humidity sensor. They said they were seeing a bunch of alerts from the sensor which was waking up the car. Replacing it didn't change my issue and I received a "climate keeper unavailable" fault upon...

Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

I haven't been able to let the 12V sit completely unplugged from the car as I live in an apartment. I can't really leave windows down etc. The 12.38V wasn't really to indicate the battery health. That's the threshold where the HV contacter switches and begins charging up the battery. It could be...

"Proactive" 12v battery replacement - good idea or overkill?

Of course, just never got any alerts. Tesla had the car at their shop four times for the issue. Surprised it was glossed over.

"Proactive" 12v battery replacement - good idea or overkill?

Just wanted to provide some input on 12V battery monitors: While it may not be the go-to tool in assessing the health of your 12V. It can certainly help diagnose unusual behaviour which are signs of a failing battery. I've been having all sorts of sleep/wake issues where the car is waking up...

Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

You can pick up at 12V battery monitor off amazon or princess auto for $40-60. Connect to your +/- terminals and it monitors the voltage, and relays via Bluetooth. Pretty handy.

Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

I went ahead an installed a battery monitor on my 12V to see the current. Either there's some crazy parasitic drain (unlikely) or we have a 4 year old 12V showing it's age (likely). If someone can comment, from my point of view, it looks like the battery is drastically dropping voltage and...

Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

So the techs still haven't cracked this case... I decided to follow your advice and bought a socket wrench and a load tester. After doing the test as prescribed while the HV system was disconnected (pulled plug under rear seats), this is what I'm reading. It's the original battery, delivery was...

Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

It's possible, but I would think the techs would've verified that. The car does throw a fault as well. I am of the suspicion its a HW failure or system file related corruption thats causing the car to do funky things. But for now, I'll wait til Friday and see what the real experts say :)

Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

Yeah. Putting a screen protector on your main display voids the warranty. It's beyond me to think people wouldn't want to protect the most expensive piece of glass in the car. They didn't give reasons other than it's in the policy and the fine print, but I can theoretically think of a few...

Multiple issues with my 2018 Model 3

I received my Model 3 in June 2018, as one of the early deliveries in Canada. The car has been bullet proof, only issues I had back with those early cars was a noisy brake clip and axle nut that needed lube. I had to leave my car parked for a prolonged time (~ 4 months but it was moved to be...

2022.4.5.3 Model 3 not going to sleep

Above is my LR 2018 3, bottom is my 2020 DM Y. I have tried disabling all the usual culprits, sentry mode, summon standby, cabin overheat protection etc with no luck.... I have raised an issue with Tesla service, let's see what they say.

2022.4.5.3 Model 3 not going to sleep

Same here! 2018 LR RWD. Can't say it's the update but since Jan of this year my car has been sleeping for about 1minute before waking up. I confirmed it via TeslaMate. It's crazy, about 99% of idle vehicle is spent online vs offline.
