    HW3 & MCU2 upgrade in Bay Area - anyone ?

I'm scheduled to get mine done on Tuesday in Berkeley. Just got and approved the invoice for the MCU 2 upgrade ($2,500 + tax). I scheduled my appointment through the app and I have AP 2 and MCU 1 in a 2017 75D.

    Navigate on Autopilot Disappears

I have this issue on my model S. NOA is there in settings but doesn’t work. Been over a month for me and the latest firmware 2019.16.2 doesn’t fix it. Tried the power-off reboot and had a mobile tech come by and load the latest version of maps.

    Navigate On Autopilot Not Working

What is the map version you have? The mobile service rep loaded 2018.30.1-1487. My NOA is still not working and I keep getting told “it’s a firmware issue that will be resolved soon.” Meanwhile it’s been over a month and still no NOA.

    Navigate On Autopilot Not Working

Update on this problem: Latest update (2019.16.1) did not fix the issue. The tech is looking into whether or not the update I got is the one that is supposed to fix it. ...And the saga continues.

    Navigate On Autopilot Not Working

To be clear, my Autosteer and TACCstill work fine. It’s only Navigate On Autopilot that doesn’t work, it won’t auto switch lanes and doesn’t take exits. Everything else works fine. Hopefully this is the case with your situation. I’d be pissed if AS and TACC didn’t work and I had a trip. I’d also...

All Season Tire Recommendation For Bay Area, Model S 75D W/ 19in

After about 23k miles, the time is coming near to replace my original Goodyear Eagle Touring tires on my 2018 75D (19in). Does anyone have a recommendation on tires I should choose? I live in the Bay Area and am looking for all season tires. Is there anything I should be aware of when choosing a...

    Navigate On Autopilot Not Working

I asked them to replace the repeater cams when I called in as I saw that others with the same problem had it resolved by replacing. What he told me is that after researching the issue, it's a firmware thing and that replacing the repeater cams won't be necessary as the next firmware release...

    Navigate On Autopilot Not Working

I actually have the same "limited blind spot visibility" error on my car as well when backing out of my garage. Goes away after that. I guess it's not tied to HW2. I'm pretty sure that this error showed up at the same time that my NOA features stopped working.

    Navigate On Autopilot Not Working

My Navigate on Autopilot features have not been working recently on my 75D on AP2 with both EAP and FSD. I am on 2019.12.1.2 5c87371 but NOA stopped working two updates ago, probably about a month now give or take. Prior to that it was working fine. TACC and Autosteer work and I have NOA...

HEPA filter retrofit to Model S

I bought the $500 Bio Weapon upgrade and it does come with the filter and installation. I had mobile service do it and he brought the part with him and activated Bio Weapon button with his laptop connected to the car. Showed up right away. Was a real simple installation (it just snaps onto the...

    Tire chain recommendation?

Hi all, we’re driving from the East Bay to Tahoe in a few weeks with our 75D model S with 19in tires. Was wondering if tire chains are recommended for the drive (I’d imagine so) and which chains people use? We don’t go often so chances are we’d only use once or twice. Thanks.

    Navigate on Autopilot

Just to close this out, Mobile Service came today and got NOA to work. It wasn’t easy tho. The tech (who was awesome!) loaded one map version and it didn’t work. Then he realized there was a newer one, had to download it and load it. Took forever. That originally didn’t work, which led to him...

    Navigate on Autopilot

Yeah, I figured the firmware update wouldn't help and in fact it didn't - setting is still not there. Does the mobile tech have to be on location to manually push the map pack or can it be done remotely? He previously said that their system shows that the new maps were successfully downloaded...

    Navigate on Autopilot

I updated to 42.2 19e7e44 8 days ago and had no navigate on autopilot feature. I waited a while to see if it would get added after a calibration period, but nope. I ended up emailing Tesla about it and someone from Mobile Service called me after a few days (I thought it was nice of them to call...

Need Advice On Service Visit For Minor Issue

Are you under warranty? If so, it should be free. I'd definitely take it in. If not, I have no idea what something like that would cost. Call your SC and ask. For my case, the inspection and the work trimming the plastic strip was free (goodwill). They did all that while I waited, in total I...

Need Advice On Service Visit For Minor Issue

If anyone is interested in the conclusion to this, the SC trimmed the hanging piece off. I asked if they could fasten it back with another rivet but there wasn't a space for a new rivet without replacing the entire strip. I could have had them replace it if I wanted (but they'd have to order the...

Need Advice On Service Visit For Minor Issue

After I posted this, I got under the car and realized that the picture that my wife sent did not show the problem. I took a better picture (below). The plastic strip was bent/torn a bit and is hanging down. I pushed it back up and taped it down to hold for now so it doesn't fall off while I'm...

Need Advice On Service Visit For Minor Issue

Hi all, the other day, my wife hit a curb in a parking lot with our 2017 Facelift MS. She mentioned it wasn't hard and didn't know what area of the car came in contact with the curb. She took a look and initially there didn't appear to be any damage, so she went on her way. When she got home...

    Just Got Rear Ended...Now What?

Sigh, this is really unfair. I've never been in this situation before. The other driver immediately reported this to their insurance and filed the claim. I assume I'm stuck with the claim even if I don't end up having Geico pay for the repair. Am I able to stop the claim from going through? I...

    Just Got Rear Ended...Now What?

I know we'll get more damages, but it's so hard to leave something noticeable (even if it's minor) on a new car this expensive.

    Just Got Rear Ended...Now What?

I scheduled an inspection with the SC to be sure nothing needs to be recalibrated. I had something that needed to be worked on anyway, so this was a good excuse to drive out and get it done.

    Just Got Rear Ended...Now What?

This was my first instinct. Get an estimate and try and talk with the person that hit us. Unfortunately, they filed a claim immediately which took it out my hands. Depending on the estimate the approved body shop gives me, I might try and reach out to the person and see if we could work...

    Just Got Rear Ended...Now What?

Thanks for the replies everyone. I called Geico and initially scheduled an inspection at a local body shop but later changed my mind and requested an adjuster come to me to inspect instead. I'm having the claim handled by them but what are people's thoughts in doing the claim through my...

    Just Got Rear Ended...Now What?

Just to update, I spoke to Tesla body shop team/service, an approved body shop and my State Farm agent. I scheduled an appointment with the service center next week to do an inspection for sensors, etc, just to be sure. State Farm recommended I just call Geico and file the claim. They did not...

    Just Got Rear Ended...Now What?

Hi all, My wife just got rear ended by someone while stopped at a traffic light in our 3 month old 75 D. This is the first time we've been in an accident in the Tesla, so I need some advice on what do. What happened: Both cars were stopped at a light, then the driver who hit her slowly crept...

Got my new Blackvue dash cam installed today and was disappointed to learn that when you connect to the Blackvue wifi on your phone to view videos, it doesn't let you use the internet. Road Trip Advice - Walnut Creek to Cambria to Monterey

Thanks for the replies! All great info. It's also great to meet a neighbor, Bruce. Will keep an eye on the fire map. Also, I'll probably bring some cleaning supplies in the frunk (although I HATE closing it, it's a pain) since we'll be parked outside overnights for the first time. We don't...

Did Tesla stop automatically installing latest software at service center visits?

I got pinged for an update yesterday after a service visit. Seems like they're provisioning for the update at the center but not completing them. I actually prefer it this way since I have a choice on whether or not I want to do the update.

Delivery & First Service Center Experience

Tesla's in a tough spot, especially in CA with all the demand. I think that and the stress they put on the local centers is the root of the problem. I try to keep an open mind and realize that sometimes folks are busy, stressed, etc and that can impact their customer service. That being said, I...

Delivery & First Service Center Experience

I 100% agree about the lack of respect for the customer and that's what worries me the most. Telsa does a lot to take care of customers, hopefully they will come to understand that the way their employees treat customers (from the top down) can sour all the good they do.

Delivery & First Service Center Experience

It was a standard rental car, nothing fancy (Hyndai Sonata). I can live with a meh loaner if it's only 1 day. It's a good policy to offer one at all. Having to deal with it for 5 days though? Nope. ;) I was surprised they didn't offer that (taking it to my own detailer and reimbursing). I would...

    Loud Noise Coming From Back

Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you look at it), the noise only happened that once and hasn't returned, so I don't have anything to share with them. Delivery & First Service Center Experience

I took delivery of my new MS 75D a few weeks ago. Went to Fremont and took the factory tour and then picked the car up after. Loud Noise Coming From Back

This. Not really worried that it won't get fixed just time and hassle. Haven't been to the service center yet, not really sure what to expect. Assuming the DT is the issue, do drivetrain replacement parts typically take a while to source/complete?

No, the car's garaged the entire time. No stray cats in my garage, unless they're better at hiding than I thought. :) What would a cat do to cause the sound?

Trick to Programming Homelink With Liftmaster

Dash Cam & Paint Protection Recommendation

Can anybody recommend an East Bay spot (preferably Walnut Creek/Lamorinda area) to get the following done: - Dash Cam install - I'll probably pick up a two channel BlackVue prior to the install. - Paint Protection - I'm undecided on what to go with, looking at wraps and/or something like an...

Current Insurance Recommendations - Bay Area

Who are Model S owners using for insurance in the Bay Area? We pick up our new 75D tomorrow and are looking to make a jump from our current insurance (State Farm) because their quote to add to our existing home/auto policy (two older ICE cars) was expensive (over a $1k for six months for the...
