From UK, living in Europe for a year. My 90 days European third party insurance has almost ended. What to do?

I am very lost. I bought a M3 in December of 2021 via my company (of which I am sole director) not knowing that I'd be going abroad travelling the next year. I live and have property in London but I also have an Irish passport and I've been travelling round Europe. I took the car because I...

Wing mirror replacement cost? DIY repair??

RIght hand drive Model 3 from the UK. A tesla service centre is quoting me ~530 Euros to replace it. It seems steep but I’ve not much to compare it to. I do remember that when I looked at getting a scratched skull cap replaced I found somewhere willing to send me one for about ten quid so...

I got GPS'd up and down a mountain. Please advise

Thanks. Is it pushing into the battery at all? It seems to be solid. I.e no way to get behind it and pop it out.

I got GPS'd up and down a mountain. Please advise

Currently somewhere in Albania. Does anyone know whether this is urgent or not urgent but needs to be fixed or something I can live with (should I choose to spend my life always knowing its there)

    I backed into a wall

    Thanks I’m gonna try that!

    I backed into a wall

gonna see if I can find one! Any places around north London you can recommend? Also, dumb question but can I just get my tyres filled with air at any service station. Tbh I think I’ve only done this once on any car.
  7. James Veitch

    I backed into a wall

I think because the reflector has bits coming off of it and will deteriorate. Plus someone else on Reddit said it would cost probably 2k to fix the whole thing. Mind you that’s my first quotation and it’s from someone on Reddit I don’t know

    I backed into a wall

Thanks. I think I'll just replace the reflector first. It's apparently 15$

Thanks everyone. Shall try body shop. :(

Buff this out? Can I order a new red light? Any way to get dents out?

Anyone have a recommendation for an awning/canopy/sunsail for my M3 with no roof rack?

A lot of them seem to need a roof rack; all I want is something that I can put up quickly to give me a bit of shade and, perhaps attach to the car. Here are a few I've found; this is 92 quid and I'm skeptical. w the actual f ... ? this calls itself a gazebo and looks like a massive...

European road trip. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work?

Good shout. But if I do need an extension cable; I have a heavy duty UK one so perhaps I can just order some of these> https://toughleads.co.uk/collections/ev-electric-vehicle-extension-leads/products/ev-granny-charger-indoor-travel-adaptors?variant=39376187326552

European road trip. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work?

Thanks! :) Yeah. I was, ideally, trying to not have to buy separate extension leads and adaptors for Italy, France & Switzerland though.

European road trip. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work?

Thanks. I was hoping to find a way to do it without having to buy extension leads and adaptors for France, Denmark, Italy & Switzerland. I wonder if I can buy a high current adaptor.
  15. James Veitch

European road trip. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work?

Yeah I could but then I'd also need one for Italy etc. And an extension too.
  16. James Veitch

European road trip. Is there any reason why this wouldn't work?

I did search and read but there are so many acronyms and I can't seem to find a straight answer. It wants me to buy all sorts of adaptors but then I'd also have to buy extension leads since I don't know how far I'll be away from power in an AirBNB. Going from tesla cable to Uk adaptor to...

CarPlay & Android Auto Hack - Walkthrough

Oh yes, do please report back. I took a trip to Liverpool with CarPlay on an Android tablet and dismantled it by the first stop at Marks and Spencers. It's not worth it Imo. Shame though. Will wait for better solution.

I know I know. I just keep coming back to the fact that I'd have to buy a dongle. I want someone to use it for a month and let me know how they got on!

CarPlay & Android Auto Hack - Walkthrough

Ok everyone! I have my Android 8 plus and a Carlinkit CPC200-CCPA. It is .... ok. I need to preface this with the fact that I am running Beta 2 of iOS 16 so it's VERY possible these are problems linked to that. However here are my problems/questions and I wondered whether anyone else had had...

Vendor Unboxing Jowua: Invisible Foldaway Car Mount with MagSafe Charger and iPhone case.

They’re very very low power. Also the shape of my iPhone mini means they always lose connection. And I want to use Waze and have the iPhone higher

Vendor Unboxing Jowua: Invisible Foldaway Car Mount with MagSafe Charger and iPhone case.

It's this part that I hate. There must be an easy way to get the cable down through the dash

Best Practices for Wired Phone Charging in 2021 Model 3/Y?

Yep all I want to do is fish a cable from the dash down to the usb charger. Hard.

Best way to fish USB cable out of center console

Looking for a better way to do it. that's also the older version I think.

    MagSafe charger for M3/MY?

This is great and what I’m doing. However, does anyone have a more graceful way of getting the cable from the dash to the side of the centre console ? I’m not averse to unscrewing or even cutting a hole

CarPlay & Android Auto Hack - Walkthrough

With this in mind, I'm determined to get CarPlay into my M3. I'd like to get something that is wide and could mount on or under the display. The Tesla screen is apparently 13.812" wide which is 350.82mm This screen on AliExpress is 350mm wide. It's also sold without the case. That...

CarPlay & Android Auto Hack - Walkthrough

ok. Now THAT would work. If it were one device. That provided charge to my phone while also providing internet to the Pi (and the car) then that would be an instant buy for me. Tethering to my phone is unreliable anyway tbh. God I wish someone would just reverse engineer the connection to...

Location of ventilation holes for camp mode?

I'm gonna follow my bliss* through continental Europe. I don't know whether this will actually happen but I like the *idea* of being able to sleep in my car. I know that I'm meant to find places that will allow me to sleep but let's just say - hypothetically - for the sake of argument - by the...

    Model 3 camping in Europe?

This is SO cool. Can your mum help me too? I'm trying to find a cover for the tesla that has an opening for the ventilation (camp mode) and also a gap/transparent part for the sunroof.

Pasta lost down side of seat. Write off?

Just knowing it's down there though. Imagine if we'd just left Richard III in that carpark in Leicester. This is precisely the same thing and an apt comparison.

Pasta lost down side of seat. Write off?

Guys. A while ago I ate pasta inside the car at an M&S petrol station near Stansted airport because my friend's flight was late and I'd already taken the wrong exit at the roundabout and had to paid a tenner just to go straight through Stansted pick up and I didn't want to do it again. Anyway...

thanks for this. I’m still holding out for a stand-alone CarPlay unit probably from coral vision. I don’t understand why apple won’t either let me turn my phone into CarPlay or allow me to use an old iPad. The jailbreak hacks are not good :(

London driving. Frequent very loud alerts. Lane departure? Avoidance? Driving me crazy.

In London there's no subscription model to even try it out and even if there were I don't think it's ready here yet. (FSD)

London driving. Frequent very loud alerts. Lane departure? Avoidance? Driving me crazy.

Oh thank god. I was worried I was going to be told my driving sucked! It's so awful and embarrassing if someone else is in the car. It's the equivalent of the car suddenly yelling at you "what the hell do you think you're doing?" It'd be one thing if it slowed down or stopped. But the beeps...

London driving. Frequent very loud alerts. Lane departure? Avoidance? Driving me crazy.

I'm a careful driver. Driving in London means driving down two lane streets with cars parked either side turning the whole thing into a one lane street which you have to navigate. There are busses that you have to indicate and move around. Basically everything is very tight. Each time I've...

CarPlay & Android Auto Hack - Walkthrough

If Hanshow came out with a standalone thing that wasn't a big install and could just sit below the display I think I'd buy it. Meanwhile Coral Vision seem to be coming out with a "dual bluetooth" motorbike version??? So perhaps there's more on the way. I feel like we're on the cusp of...
