    SR+ tyre replacement

New tyre time. Primacy 4 lasted 41k kms, compared to 36k kms for the oem PS4 T0. I could have gotten a bit more as the fronts still have decent thread but the rears are at the minimum and the tyre shop would not rotate them. Prices have gone up wildly in the past few months. The Primacy 4 was...

Model 3 Air con not fully functioning

I have a related problem with the A/C in our car (2020 build). My problem is that my car will still blow cool air on manual mode, with AC even if the temperature is set up to 25C. Additionally the fan speed is very low between 1-6 and will then be almost full blast from 7-10. I raised a...

New BP gas station chargers are coming

This is good news for all EV drivers as it gives us more options, specially during busy travel periods. The limiting factor for these sites is whether their existing capacity can feed fast chargers. Perhaps a battery bank is also going to be useful. I’m working with a company installing heaps...

    Sentry Mode + Alarm sensitivity?

So i received a ‘tap’ from behind while parked. I had just parked in a parallel parking spot and was just waiting for the other driver behind me to complete their parking when i felt a very light nudge. Sentry was on as indicated by the red icon and car was in Park. I exited the vehicle and...

Model 3 Delivery situation in New Zealand

I’ve done that trip many times in my 2020 SR+. Leave Welly at 100% and you will get to Mangaweka Supercharger (2+ hours without stopping) and arrive with more than 30%. Have a coffee or lunch (i recommend their mince pie or lasagna) and your call will have enough to get you to Taupo SC or even...

As far as i’m aware summon has never been included in basic Autopilot. You need Enhanced Autopilot or FSD to have summon.

Model 3 Delivery situation in New Zealand

I thought that recall only applied where a previous service was done on the rear belts, in which case the method of reassembly needs to be inspected, and if required, reassemble.

    MODEL Y DELIVERY New Zealand

I guess for the time savings you might as well use the superchargers in Johnsonville. There are also heaps in Lower Hutt and Petone where there is no parking fee. If you are coming from the delivery centre in Avalon.

    MODEL Y DELIVERY New Zealand

The local Welly manager dropped by as part of a mobile service today and he said about 200 Model Ys being prepped in Welly, including some YP. Next week looks like its going to be busy.

    WoF?

I’ve had the FR upper control arms and lateral links replaced under warranty, the SC says the parts are now in revision D, so they have been updating them as cars rack up the mileage. My car just went over 70k but still over 10 months til wof. I’ll have to schedule one in January before my...

4G/LTE speeds in NZ - painfully slow

Did they update the Model 3 to esims? I seem to recall that this was in the works. If Tesla has been using esims then a network change could just be a OTA but older cars (like mine) will require a physical swap.

Tesla Software Updates for Model 3 New Zealand

No I think you are confusing alarm activation. Sentry events are currently only visible in-car. The car doesn’t notify the app whenever a sentry event is logged.
  35. M

Tesla Software Updates for Model 3 New Zealand

I’m guessing it will be a future feature to notify on the phone app whenever sentry is triggered.

4G/LTE speeds in NZ - painfully slow

Got to my destination (7km drive - 10 mins) before the nav even started searching for the address i wanted to go to. Just kept saying ‘offline’ - surely premium connectivity pricing needs to reflect the poor quality service right now until they sort it. @Audietron you’re up 😅

    EV rental from Avis (Christchurch)

I gave up trying and got a full size SUV for less than half the price. $1300ish for the Model 3 before any insurance upgrades vs $526 all-in $0 excess. I’m sure i won’t use up $800 worth of petrol in 4 days. Maybe next time!

    EV rental from Avis (Christchurch)

    EV rental from Avis (Christchurch)

Hi folks, has anyone rented a Model 3 from Avis NZ? I’ve been on the phone with their call centre a few times now and nobody seems to know: - if the cars come with a charging cable - if I can use the superchargers - if i need to use my own chargenet account Any advice and feedback would be...

    Annoying tesla things?

A current annoyance is how grabby and panic-inducing the corrective steering function is. Without fail it will correct me at a roundabout, thinking i am steering into the wrong lane. Most commonly at motorway off-ramps, it will try and pull me back as a edge closer to the left line.
