And you didn't let her tyres down?

[UK] Would you buy another tesla

He/they are ready to go now, having a chunky deposit ( we figured that they can have some inheritance whilst we are about to enjoy them enjoying it). Of course people may well be reluctant to sell BUT housebuilders might need to get some money in.
  3. DaveNN

Have you lost faith in Tesla?

    Not sure

[UK] Would you buy another tesla

Eldest and his gf are looking for a house soon. He had factored in jump in interest rates, using my adage of never buying anything unless you can buy it at least twice over...preferably in cash. He's just biding his time.
  5. DaveNN

[UK] Would you buy another tesla

Yep ..there's a glut. I hope, being mercenary, that the glut continues.
  6. DaveNN

[UK] Would you buy another tesla

I do my best. Fingers crossed it continues or doesn't rebound too much. I'll be taking it off the lease company.

[UK] Would you buy another tesla

    I've just WBAC mine. Under £26k.. 10k miles. MY22 OK that's not the value , they don't want them...but I'm still delighted.

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Yep. Ordering and expect in a few days. Will look at spikes for the apex.
  9. DaveNN

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Another on cost... bird proofing. That or a pressure washer to send baby pigeons to the middle of next week.

    Tesla App down ?

No probs here Hope it's soon sorted.
  11. DaveNN

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

That's exactly my reasons for looking at this route.
  12. DaveNN

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

I know of one supplier who will give you MCS etc for £400. Yes not an installer but a supplier.
  13. DaveNN

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Yep I paid VAT. However, I'm a few grand to the good against all my quotes. Scaffolding £180 versus £500, for example. IIRC £4k ...

Trade Sparky for my Sofar Battery Inverter HDM for my batteries Solar Energy Stores for panels etc and Solar inverter.

    Intelligent octopus stopped working!

Might be because there was a saving session at 9am and they didn't want us little tykes taking advantage by loading up our cars and batteries before?
  16. DaveNN

    Intelligent octopus stopped working!

5A is OK with mine....or seems to be. However, in the cold I've found it needs to be upped somewhat.
  17. DaveNN

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

I'm going down the thermal store route when I throw my hp in ( got to be unlooped first) This is often frowned upon but as I have access to very cost effective kit, it makes sense to me.

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

    Some good experienced knowledge here.

Idiots in Carparks (why we can't have nice things)

I had a bit of a discussion with a chap who expressed dismay that I'd parked my X260 over 1.5 spaces... on a nigh on empty car park. I advised him that I'd spent hours sorting out some parking rash...so wasn't going to risk anything again. Besides...what did it have to do with him how the hell I...

Idiots in Carparks (why we can't have nice things)

Let's just admit it...we are lucky enough to have cars that attract parking spanners.. I tend to park well away from any other car...and when I return , and regardless of how empty the car park is, there's always some numpty parked within a cig paper of mine.

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

EPS set up. Auto change relay to be wired in...but might simply run an extension cable to the lounge for the TV and one to the boiler.
  22. DaveNN

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

I'm just about to install 4.05kw of PV ( due south roof), after running with 3 x 3000 pylontech batteries ( giving about 9kwhr with the dod set at 90%) with a Sofar inverter. Total hardware cost, Inc a new consumer unit about £8.5k. Additional labour + mcs etc about £1k. I agree with your mate...

Does it matter what charger I pay

Pulsar for me, made dumb and controlled via IO. Do miss the button....
  24. DaveNN

[uk] Public charging - the media may have a point

The daily telegraph is fun.. Any " eco energy" article turns into a b.itch fight..with tesla drivers being the devil incarnate.
  25. DaveNN

    Intelligent octopus stopped working!

I'd drop octopus a quick email to make sure that you are still on the tariff.. if so, then you are OK for the typical 11.30pm start. IO has been a bit glitchy of late.
  26. DaveNN

[UK] Would you buy another tesla

NO as I didn't buy this or the one before that.
  27. DaveNN

[uk] Public charging - the media may have a point

Gretna and Tesla Hardly a marriage made in heaven. I'm lucky enough to have not "suffered" with any queuing yet. However, what with plenty more Teslas on the road and the SC network released to the more inferior EVs, I doubt that my luck will prevail..

[UK] used value of their Tesla cars plummeting?

In view of this potential trend, I'm now starting to look after my batteries a bit better.... could be sat on a bargain.
  29. DaveNN

[UK] used value of their Tesla cars plummeting?

    Bet you're fun at parties.
  30. DaveNN

[UK] used value of their Tesla cars plummeting?

Wonder how much the Co lease outfit will pay me to take "mine" off them ?
  31. DaveNN

Solar Panels UK - is it worth it?

Running 3 x pylontech 3000+ Sofar inverter. Doesn't hit the 95% DOD , just the 90%. Output is 3kw...which is good enough.

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

I agree. What I'm trying to get my head around the fact that the breaker is off...so how is it communicating?
  33. DaveNN

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

That's it exactly. However, in all essence the ruddy thing is switched off. So, how on earth is it detecting that it's plugged ? As I'm on batteries until late evening, there's no advantage in me charging now and I'm not pulling off the grid. I suppose I can put the inverter on auto but it's a faff.
  34. DaveNN

Can’t remove expired credit card from account

Or just have the new one as default.
  35. DaveNN

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

My wallbox charger is switched off at the breaker. I plug the car in, ready for a charge later tonight. Nigh on immediately I get a smart charge schedule. I can but assume that I have enough of a contact for IO to communicate with the car. Is this likely ?
  36. DaveNN

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

I took the decision to not bother charging, just in case.. I 'lost out' a little during the day but hit 10p in the early evening.
  37. DaveNN

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

    All up and running...
  38. DaveNN

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

If you ring, you get told that there is an issue with the smart meter. Once you get through to a human, it all begins to get a lot clearer. I didn't charge my batteries last night, in case the tariff itself had gone pear shaped.
  39. DaveNN

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

The IO app went the shape of the pear early evening yesterday. Whilst the tariff is, supposedly, live..no access/device info on the app. Thousands affected.
  40. DaveNN

[UK] used value of their Tesla cars plummeting?

Without new ones, you don't get old ones ( in time)
  41. DaveNN

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

Sorry, don't know. I have a wallbox pulsar, made it dumb just in case. One thing, could thus be load balancing? That said, still no reason to drop out fully.
  42. DaveNN

Octopus Energy, including Intelligent and go

This. As noted, I can't see just how and why IO will cause this. I tend to start my charge at a lowly 5A and increase accordingly. I'm still finding that when I plug in, IO still gives me more than the usual 6hrs...but as my batteries are still at about 50%, I pull little/ nothing off the grid...

    [UK] Price cuts

If you've got that then more power to your elbows.
  44. DaveNN

    [UK] Price cuts

Or just buy our massively deprecated motors off the Co or Lease Co.
  45. DaveNN

    [UK] Price cuts

    Nope.

    Nightmare! (Supercharger queues)

The substations should be OK It's the cables thereafter.
  47. DaveNN

    Nightmare! (Supercharger queues)

It is like having 2 kettles running but for a long period. Add an EV, Heat Pump, 12Kw shower/ induction hob ( neither of which the DNO have to know about) + the thousands of looped supplies ( me being one) ..admittedly looped supplies should be unlooped with an EV.. the next few years are going...
  48. DaveNN

    Nightmare! (Supercharger queues)

Agreed As much as I adore my tesla( and the BIK), I am questioning if I should go back to hybrid in a few years time? I suppose the BIK on the hybrid would make that decision for me. I've not, yet, queued at a charging bay. Not sure just how long that will last.
