Refresh Model S/X yoke controls owners survey

Everyone is of course entitled to his/her own preferences but if you had asked me about the yoke one week after delivery I would've unequivocally told you that I prefer a traditional steering wheel. Since I was primed to dislike the yoke, my initial experience became a self-fulfilling prophecy...

Refresh Model S/X yoke controls owners survey

It's funny that most of the yoke detractor's arguments come from a place of theorycraft rather than actual usage. Prior to getting our refresh X my wife and I both expected to hate it - indeed it was almost a deal-breaker for me - all based on the same armchair negatives commonly bandied about...

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Russia's missile attacks on the Ukrainian grid are curiously under-reported in Western mainstream media. There as been an absolute barrage of such attacks in the past week: Massive Russian Missile Barrage Plunges Much Of Ukraine Into Darkness (Updated)

    Russia/Ukraine conflict

Ukrainians are in for a hell of a winter if their electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure continues to get taken out at their current clip. Just a senseless humanitarian crisis. Hopefully a lasting peace can be achieved soon.

    Considering 2023 MX--The Yoke is a concern.

Both my wife and I were expecting to hate the yoke but a few months in it's become a non-issue. Recently I offered to install the Hansshow wheel and my wife flat out refused. She really likes the yoke now.

Using SSD for Sentry and music

The included USB drive is actually pretty fast. I compared it to a SK hynix Gold NVMe SSD in an external enclosure. It's obvious Tesla sourced to optimize sequential read which is likely the determining factor for responsiveness while reviewing sentry footage. The SK hynix is heads and shoulders...

Model X charge door and Gen 3 Wall connector not working RF interference

Assuming Tesla has a competent engineering department, one would hope this regression fix was accompanied by an automated test case to ensure it doesn’t happen again.

Model X charge door and Gen 3 Wall connector not working RF interference

So imagine my surprise last night when I decided to try the charge port door with the wall connector wand and it worked. First time in weeks. Coincidentally or not, I had just updated to 2022.36.2. You may want to update and try again as well. I ended up canceling the mobile service call.

Model X charge door and Gen 3 Wall connector not working RF interference

My charge port has recently stopped opening via the wall connector wand too. My thought was a hardware failure but hearing your experience perhaps it is due to a new bug. I only have a single vehicle so interference is unlikely.

    XPEL Wrapped and coated

I use ONR with multiple microfiber clothes and/or Ultra Black sponge. It takes 20 odd minutes for the entire car and I use no more than 3 gallons of water.

Immensely helpful thread. I too was afflicted by this noise but thanks to the info here it’s now blessedly gone. Cheers!

Refresh 6 seat rattle in rear

Sorry I know that was very vague. I have a noise coming from the back seat, seemingly behind both the driver and the passenger seats. It could also be coming from further back as in-car acoustics is tricky to nail down. The noise itself is like sheets of paper or rough cloth rubbing/shuffling...

I have a "shuffling" type rattle somewhere - is this similar to what you had?

2022 MXLR all weather floor mats

I have the "older" 3D Maxpider on my refresh MX (5 seat) and can confirm they do fit. It's not perfect - i.e. 3D precision but perfectly acceptable.

Just picked up our Black/Cream 5 seater! Pretty happy all things considered, there’s a slightly misaligned panel but not something that really bothers me. The car was delivered without a trunk floor cover as apparently there’s a lack of parts. Curious if anyone else?

I have delivery of my black/cream 5 seat scheduled for next week, and I just removed FSD. The delivery appointment remains unchanged. Just FYI for any considering the same.

RN1148 placed in April 2020 finally got an EDD that's tantalizingly close (6.22 - 7.10). No VIN yet but the end might just be near.

I will say the EDD ranged wildly week by week but narrowed considerably around the time Giga Austin news was making the rounds (coincidence or not). I'm in the Midwest.

Hmm, MYLR Black 7 seater, no FSD ordered 10.21.2021. Received VIN last week and delivery scheduled for 3.21.22 (next Monday). Seems very much at odds with other experiences.

Model X Wrap and PPF Discussion

I was recently quoted about 10k for a full wrap + ceramic coating vs 6K for just front end, rocker panels, and rear wheel impact areas. I'm interested in hearing opinions here - is the full body wrap worth it if I'm not going for a color/matte change?

That's the cream interior correct? Or is it actually white but off-color due to looking through the glass? If it is the cream then IMO it looks amazing. Any and all second guessing on my interior color choice is firmly in the rear window.

Wiki Model X Order/Delivery Tracking - Google Sheet

Has the "final" page always been just "Prepare for Delivery" with no action items / next steps? My original delivery estimate of November disappeared a couple of weeks back and while it has not re-appeared, I don't recall the page being this sparse. Then again I could just be mis-remembering things:
