What is the dumbest thing your Tesla does?

Force the driver to use the screen to manually change the wiper speed which is necessary because the auto function is useless. Just implement scroll wheel adjustment like in new S and X…

It’s gone very quiet on here lately… I hope we will still see improvements to the product. Does concern me slightly that I’ve had my unit quite a while now and it still tells me my Model 3 RWD is a LR..

Fun and novelty and additional music services are all well and good….I just would prefer it if some other improvements more fundamental to it being a car came first, or if we at least had any sign they were being prioritised, even if they take longer to complete.

Meh, nothing to get too excited about. Indicator thing probably the most (only) intriguing bit. Unless there are undocumented improvements to stuff like wipers, speed sign recognition etc etc

    LFP SR+ over old LR?

2022 LFP here and it’s more than quick enough unless you are the type to go looking for people to race against etc. In reality, I hardly ever use the full power that even this offers. Multiple test drives in a LR before ordering left me feeling that the additional acceleration would very quickly...

Reading about the issues VW are having really brings home how easy Tesla owners have it when it comes to getting updates. Loads of ID3 owners aren’t actually installing the update because the install button is so easily missed 😂 https://www.id3forums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1536&start=180

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

That’s right - so for example I have a button hidden behind the lower corner of the screen which used to just open the glovebox when pressed. It still does that, but now I can also double press it to turn on the dome lights (and double press again to turn them off). Actually, about this...

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

Oh can you actually set up double and long together? I haven’t tried that yet - sort of seemed like I had to choose?

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

You get an indicator in the S3XY app dashboard, but not in the car itself. It acts as a toggle so second press turns off.

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

Just wanted to say that I’m really happy with the new long/double press function...has made a big difference to how useful even a small number of buttons can be. I now have the button behind my left wheel spoke to toggle auto/off wipers with a single press, and then to decrease wiper frequency...

Vendor S3XY Buttons - Regenerative braking

I would love app notifications to (optionally) notify me when I’ve pressed a button and what has been changed. I don’t use the S3XY app dashboard display (sorry!…I’m normally having Apple Maps or Teslogic dashboard on my my phone mounted on the steering wheel column) so when I use a button to...

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Agreed. It needs testing. The question remains unanswered until someone has actually tried it. Once they have, that person will then know best. Will try and test come the end of the current fix, and if the property owner decides they are happy to go on to IO. Everything else is just...

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

I’m not sure that’s completely clear - it could be taken to mean that if I had two properties both with IO accounts both in my name. In that case, I (as the legal bill payer) would be benefiting twice, so I can see why that would be forbidden…but with two different bill payers it’s a slightly...

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Couldn’t see anything in the T&Cs. The location checking aspect could potentially cause confusion in the system though. ie. the Octopus system would perhaps need to have been set up to allow an EV to have more than one home location - which it probably hasn’t.
  22. BillN

Wiki Everything you wanted to know about Intelligent Octopus But Were Afraid To Ask

Yeah - this is what I’m asking. Scenario is I have IO already at home, but often spend weekends at another property which currently has a non-smart Octopus tariff (account is not in my name). When that tariff ends, it would be beneficial to switch to IO. I think it would only be at the point of...

    Tesla Navigation - which lane?

Lane guidance is poor, as with most sat navs. Best I’ve found is, believe it or not, Apple Maps. iPhone mounted on a MagSafe mount on top of the steering wheel column is a good, neat solution.

To "Sentry" or not to "Sentry"....that is the question

Haven’t had any issues with conflicts - but don’t really use depart schedules any where. Tessie generally reflects Tesla, and vice’versa.
  27. BillN

To "Sentry" or not to "Sentry"....that is the question

I use it whenever parked at supermarkets etc, and for overnight hotel stays. Regularly see people in car parks react to the screen notification when they walk up to their car and then take obvious extreme care when opening their door. At home I use scheduling via Tessie to only automatically...

2022.36 — Official Release Notes and Discussion

36.2 seems to have broken walk away door lock for me, as well mirror folding when manually locking. Edit - false alarm I think - apparently the car thought one of the doors wasn’t shut even though it clearly was!

Yeah don’t understand the city / highway range estimates. Everyone knows that EVs are basically less efficient at highway speeds and more efficient at low speeds.
  34. BillN

Vendor Teslogic — Mobile Instrument Cluster for Tesla Model 3/Y

One thing that I’m finding a bit annoying it that with Google maps (on iPhone) if I just search for a destination and then share it to Teslogic it works fine, but if I select a favourite / saved place then Google Maps goes ahead and calculates a route, and then when I share to Teslogic it...

I’d like to see an option to have a bigger speedo on the map screen. As it is now, I find it too small to be of much benefit. A split screen could be an option too.

Vendor Teslogic — Mobile Instrument Cluster for Tesla Model 3/Y

Just installed mine - went fairly smoothly, although there seems a lot less space for the box in my car than in any of the videos I’ve seen. Haven’t been for a drive yet, but have noticed it is incorrectly labelling my car as a Model 3 LR when it’s actually a 60kWh LFP RWD. It didn’t appear to...

Basic auto high beam which works, and preferably operable matrix headlights. Wipers which don’t auto wipe a dry screen, do auto wipe for drizzle, and where speed can be manually controlled via scroll wheel (like in latest S\X). Motorised memory interior rear view mirror. Sat nav which can...

Tesla Vision coming to radar-equipped cars on 2022.24.6

yep. Since I’ve had it, and since I experienced actual high beams automatically coming on in broad day light, I’m now finding myself hesitating when deciding to turn on autosteer, in the day time, in case it flashes the full beams at the car in front. Madness. It would actually be a little...

Not what has been happening today. This is driving down a fully exposed French motorway in the middle of the day in full sun, with literally no shadows to speak of. Never experienced this before. Turning on the dipped lights in broad day light I could just about deal with, but when it now, with...
  46. BillN

    [UK] 2022.24

Ok…the high beam business is nuts. The car has regularly (more often than not) today been turning the headlights on (in broad day light) and then engaging autopilot (ie auto steer) turns on the auto high beam function (contrary to what I said before, this happens in all conditions - not just in...
  47. BillN

    [UK] 2022.24

Thanks for clarification, though I think probably clear to vast majority that “AP is engaged” when both TACC and Autosteer are working. An “autopilot” that didn’t even make an attempt to steer would be a very, very bad pilot indeed..!!
