    Supercharger - Greenville, AL

It's pretty intermittent. When I was through in late April, it was a mixed bag. Going down, 3/6 were down. Coming back north a week later, all six were back online.

    Alabama Owners

I doubt it, Alabama is too busy banning yoga in public schools.

    Supercharger - Oxford, AL

Seconded (my BIL's in laws are locals).
  4. BoddagettaRN

    Rural Ownership

My GTI had "fancier" tires than what comes on Teslas. The tire shop will be fine. My brother in law (not on here) lives in rural GA, has a home charging setup and is living his best life with his Model 3. He has yet to run into any problems--the Tesla has really worked out well for him and his...

    Supercharger - Columbus GA

This is a *great* location. Lots of food/shopping available at this exit. OP mentioned it's 2.6 miles off the interstate, which is nominally true, but if you're going from metro Atlanta to PCB/30A you cut over from 185 to 280/431 via JR Allen Parkway. (185 dead-ends at Ft. Benning.) So in...

    Supercharger - Auburn, AL

Oh, yeah...that's a good location as well. Just a bit farther off the interstate, but there are some decent offerings. I'll be honest, it's been a hot minute since I've actually been to the mall, so I was doing the time/distance calculus in my head from past experience.
  7. BoddagettaRN

    Supercharger - Auburn, AL

I'd still rather eat at somewhere in TigerTown vs. the dead mall. Also, TigerTown is on I-85, as opposed to 10-15 minutes off the interstate. Off the top of my head, TigerTown has a BurgerFi, Taziki's, Newk's, BW3, CFA, Moe's, Jersey Mike's, Chicken Salad Chick, Olive Garden, El Patron, Arby's...
  8. BoddagettaRN

    Supercharger - Montgomery, AL

The Taylor Road Target would be killer. Someone screwed the pooch putting the Auburn supercharger at the mall and not TigerTown.

Did you PPF your new Tesla?

I paid $1,300 for XPEL. That included everything forward of the windshield, as well as the mirrors, door handles, rocker panels and the luggage lip on the rear bumper. All in all, I'm super impressed and as soon as I repair a big ass scratch on the 4Runner's grill, I'll do that vehicle too.

    Lets see your garage!

Our basement technically extends underneath our garage. My neighbor actually built a second garage in his basement underneath the primary garage on the front of the house.

    ClearFilm (Roswell, GA)

I just picked up my M3 from ClearFilm in Roswell and I can't say enough good things about these guys. Application looks fantastic, and they are incredibly easy to work with. If you're looking to do PPF for your car, definitely give these guys a call. (678) 332-9306. Tell Jordan that Matt Tripp...

Delivery / Service Issues (panel gaps, delivery delays / issues / Service problems etc)

Oof. That's pretty bad. Now that I think about it, most of the cars I've bought new were EOQ builds as SOs (counting the Tesla as a SO, even though it's not, technically). None had any issues, including the Tesla. And dmurphy is correct, minor work does not have to be disclosed. All of the...

    What is your profession?

I graduated college with a degree in journalism and a pilot's license--I wanted to be an airline pilot, but graduating after 9/11 meant there weren't any pilot jobs to be found and the military (at the time) didn't want pilots with artsy-fartsy liberal arts degrees. My first job was writing for...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I have a '21 and WeatherTech mats for a '20. They fit perfectly.

Is the Key Fob worth buying?

I ended up buying a fob to have for valet/non-Tesla service center purposes. Given that the card is the "master key" of sorts, I just felt weird handing that over to Joe Random who'd then have all sorts of permissions with the car. Whatever, it's only $150 and it looks fly as hell.

    Transferring Plates - Georgia

Harumph. Normally, I DGAF, but it's my wife's car and she'll be pissed she can't use her PeachPass until the plate switches over (Doraville to Canton in the afternoon is gonna suuuuuuuuck). Oh well. Guess she has to drive the 4Runner for a month. :D

    Transferring Plates - Georgia

I searched, but didn't find a definitive answer. Will be picking up M3 on Sunday and transferring plates from a previous vehicle. It sounds like the delivery process is touch free in these COVIDy times, which leads me to believe Tesla is just going to register it on a generic plate and if I want...

    2021 Model 3 19 inch Sport Rims

Geez, that's disappointing. And I paid $1,000 extra for them? <--- Is a sucker.

    Model 3: Pros and Cons

A friend of mine is a vehicle upholsterer...This would be an immediate post-delivery upgrade if I were to buy a Plaid. :D

    Full Payment in Advance?

That was a big culture shock to me. Every other time I've ever special-ordered a car (nearly all of my cars), it's been a chill process. Essentially, "Put down your deposit and just make sure you have the balance ready when you pick up the car." Cool. With Tesla, it was near-daily emails/texts...

    Upload Insurance Without VIN? Huh?

This was the weirdest part of the whole ordering process. I'm in Georgia and, despite what Tesla's website says, we definitely don't have to have insurance specifically lined up for a vehicle purchase prior to taking delivery. Your current policy is good for (I think) 30 days. In this case, it...

    Model 3: Pros and Cons

This is not just a Tesla problem. My 4Runner has Toyota SafetySense, which includes adaptive cruise control. It does not anticipate idiots well. For example, if I've got cruise set on the interstate and someone going slower than me pulls out in front of me, it will slam on the brakes like it's...

Porsche Taycan Turbo vs Model 3 vs Roadster

Not to mention, Porsche is the anti-Tesla when it comes to customization and personalization. :D #alltheoptions
  26. BoddagettaRN

Porsche Taycan Turbo vs Model 3 vs Roadster

Having not driven the Taycan, I can't speak to it specifically. What I do know is it's an incredible first effort. Is it the same value as a Model 3? Of course not--that's ridiculous. But Tesla has had a 15? year head start to achieve that value and charging footprint. Let's be honest, more...

Wiki Model 3 Order Tracking Spreadsheet

My VIN popped up by 0630 EST the next day, with delivery updated to 12/8-12/14. So maybe they weren't lying when they were hassling me via text message. :D

Best color + interior after the 2021 updates

My 4Runner is blue, so she didn't want to get the same color as me (we've done that more than once, LOL). We've had red, black and white, never anything in the grey family (I almost went with grey on my last GLI, ended up with white). So we went with MSM, black interior (because it's not a '57...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

This. I sold two cars to Carvana last year; they beat out my trade-in estimate by ~$3,000/car. Sure, I could have waited it out and probably gotten more selling private party, but it was so freakin' easy with Carvana.

HOLY CRAP, I GOT A VIN! Delivery ETA bumped up to 12/8-12/14.

Discussion: Floor Mats in Model 3

I was bummed at first that no one seems to have the '21 (ribbed) frunk mat, but since it is a plastic basin, I'm not terribly worried at the moment. I went with WeatherTech for the cabin and trunk; it's what we've got in the X3 (4Runner came with all-weather mats) and I've been pleased with them.

Wiki Model 3 Order Tracking Spreadsheet

Ordered 11/10, input financing today (11/25)...my credit union only authorizes for 30 days. ETA went from 12/16-12/31 to 12/09-12/30 about 15 minutes after I did that. So, hoping for something on the early side!

2021 Model 3 LR - Order Placed 10/16 VIN RECIEVED!

I ordered 11/10, got a 5-8 week ETA. My credit union (Delta) only does approvals for 30 days out. After two weeks of near-daily PLEASE UPDATE YOUR PAYMENT METHOD text messages, I finally cracked and arranged financing. Here's to hoping I have a delivery before Christmas. LR, no FSD. I'm in Georgia.

    Supercharger - Greenville, AL

This is one of the routes I was most curious about. I live in Cherokee County and visit NB often. Getting down there, I don't have much stress about; stopping in Auburn is fine (I graduated from there, so I'm always down for an excuse to stop in) and Greenville is pretty much the last exit with...

    Hello from ATL

Hello all, I'm Matt and I just ordered a Midnight Silver M3LR. This is my first EV and I have to say, I'm pretty pumped! (Well, I guess you could say I'm *charged*, not pumped...#dadjokes.) This vehicle will actually replace my wife's BMW X3M. As fun as that car is, her job has her driving...
