Finally swapped our Taycan for a Model S - I have some questions about the interface...

There are a lot of different solutions for stitching footage from multiple camera and extrapolating things that are off camera (with know distance from camera, etc) so I don’t think it’s impossible, but not sure they’ll spend time on that vs other features

Finally swapped our Taycan for a Model S - I have some questions about the interface...

I’ve seen a few Lucids up close, lucky enough to try one out too. Ultimately, the software was still a bit clunky and not as responsive as you’d hope - I’m sure that eventually software updates will optimize it. The two tone interior is definitely subjective, and the comfort was, to me, equal to...

Finally swapped our Taycan for a Model S - I have some questions about the interface...

Much, much better IMO. So the Taycan is a beautiful car, I would argue the most beautiful EV out right now. Its looks verge on the exotic. It’s also extremely well put together and the model S has a few easy to rectify build quality issues (window seals cracking in one spot as an example) - at...

    Right Scroll Wheel question...

Yeah. Seems like a missed opportunity but also wondering if it’s due to TACC/Autopilot activation associated with the wheel and fear of erroneous clicking (not that it’s justified…just wondering why two actions immediately accessible to the driver are not used)

    Right Scroll Wheel question...

So, I've had a Y for a year now. We just got a new Model S...what the heck does the right scroll wheel control when I push it Left/Right? In the Y, that sets the following distance...does it do anything in the S at the moment?

Thanks! I’m aware of being able to drag it around, was just wondering why the double arrow button wasn’t there.

My bad on the time stamp, it’s around 0:57 seconds

Finally swapped our Taycan for a Model S - I have some questions about the interface...

We already have a '22 Y at home, so not such a Noob, but there are two things I was wondering if we had more information about: 1. If you look at the Owners Guide from the launch of the refresh, there's a reference to a media control "swap" button that the front passenger can press to...

Yeah, Atlantic station is more accessible right off 85/75 for those driving through.

No, those should be different as these were for the trunk area, not the doors Edit: these won’t wrap around to the passenger door area if that’s what you meant

apply brakes when regenerative braking is limited - setting never saves?

Haven’t really noticed it yet since Inhavent charged past 80% in awhile (this will work, for example, when you’re at 100% and can’t regen), but autopilot uses it sometimes if something happens and it needs to decelerate faster than regen alone allows - works great in those scenarios
  14. O

Setting for “Apply Braking when Regen Limited” wont save as enabled.

Not a terrible misunderstanding - for the most part, it’ll never be necessary. But, recently, the service request feature of the mobile app added some self diagnostics (for certain things) which kicks on when you attempt to open a request for some issues (like concerns over battery degradation...

Setting for “Apply Braking when Regen Limited” wont save as enabled.

It’s not a matter of removing in and fixing - what OTA means are the periodic updates, not remote support. I just got 40.4.1 this week and it resolved it for me, and I expect anyone else who still has this issue.

Setting for “Apply Braking when Regen Limited” wont save as enabled.

Thanks! Let’s us know if it “stuck” this time on 40.4! I’m on 36.6 still, hoping it got fixed in the new update!

Setting for “Apply Braking when Regen Limited” wont save as enabled.

I keep doing that and it’s still not “sticking”…I wonder if this has anything to do with the cloud profiles…

Same issue here…going to try a reset and see if it helps!

apply brakes when regenerative braking is limited - setting never saves?

I'm on 2022.36.6 - I have this feature available, I can select it and turn it on. If I exit the car and come back, it's unselected. Cannot get this to save in the On position. Anyone else has this issue?

How different is the new Comfort Suspension (October 22 -) to the previous gen (prior to Oct 22 change)?

I doubt that as well, and it doesn’t take air suspension to reach “comfort”, look at any German SUV that doesn’t have air suspension. They drive great and feel great - mostly due to superior dampeners in the suspension system.

How different is the new Comfort Suspension (October 22 -) to the previous gen (prior to Oct 22 change)?

with the recent info about the Model Y LR and Performance receiving a new Comfort suspension starting with cars manufactured in Texas and Fremont starting October 22, I'm curious just how different the driving feel and comfort really are compared to earlier 22-made cars...

Yup. Have. Fremont built LR from 01/22, those are the parts I ordered and had installed.

    Suspension Shop in Atlanta

In case you’re still thinking about this, the guys at AP3 in Alpharetta said they were going to start it this year, last I saw them was around June so I’m guessing they’re offering installs now

I'm pretty sure these are it! They're on the same list as the C pillar upper trim pieces I had installed. The top trim fits perfectly with the "older" 2022 lower trim that isn't carpeted so if you only want the parcel shelf, you don't really need them.

I didn’t but can’t see why that would be an issue

    Retrofit Texas MY parcel sherlf

Will take pictures shortly, but got it installed on Friday! Looks great, works great, don't expect it to work miracles for "noise reduction" (but that's not why I had it installed).
  27. O

    Retrofit Texas MY parcel sherlf

Yes, through the app as an “other” service request. Wrote that I wanted to check on costs of parts and labor for installing it (also provided PDF of parts) and the rest happened as it normally does - they sent an estimate, I approved, date confirmed, and so on. Install Friday morning.
  28. O

    Retrofit Texas MY parcel sherlf

    Yes, entirely through the app.

Scheduled to have it installed this Friday! Will make sure to update shortly after

I specifically asked for a quote for the parts and install…e wives and approved an estimate that includes the parts ($200) and labor ($125, which I believe is their hourly rate). I’m in Atlanta and going to the Alpharetta, GA SC.
  31. O

Just ordered parts and installation via local SC, $335 total.

FSD Visualization Preview is not supported in current region

Yup, took less than a minute of driving… suspect it wasn’t the calibration but rather the GPS location for the vehicle getting squirrely after factory reset and needing the vehicle to be on motion in order to update

FSD Visualization Preview is not supported in current region

Just bought a 2022 Model Y in a private sale. After transfer of ownership went through, I factory reset the car and began configuring my new profile, etc. It took it awhile to register the new GPS location (short drive), but now the option to turn on the FSD visualization isn’t working and the...

Difference between early 2021 and late 2021 Model Y?

Weird! One of the cars I'm negotiating on has a sticker for 02/21 manufacturing date and does already have the double-pane glass. Visually, gaps look perfect. Edit: original owner took delivery in April it seems

Difference between early 2021 and late 2021 Model Y?

Does anyone here know what the differences are between an early 2021 (say Jan-Feb) made Model Y and a late 2021 (June-December) are, if any? Looking to purchase a used one and want to make sure I won't miss out on anything major if I find an early 2021 car. The only thing so far I found as a...

2021 Model 3 SR+ (NCA) and the Tesla Wall Charger (Gen 2)

Just bought a late 2021 Model 3 SR+ that still features the NCA batteries. I was previously expecting to buy a Model Y long range (at launch) and in preparation for it set up a Gen 2 Wall Charger in my garage on a 60amp circuit in order to achieve 48A max charge rate on the MY LR. When I...

    Supercharging a Used Tesla

THIS! And thank you! I picked up the car yesterday and this is exactly what the owner and I thought would be best...MAYBE there wouldn't have been an issue or much of a lag (we did the transfer of ownership this morning and it took 15min to register in my account and be removed from his), but...

    Supercharging a Used Tesla

*sweaty brow* are we sure that's the case? Should I not risk it and just leave it on their account until I successfully reach my destination and then do it...?

    Supercharging a Used Tesla

Do you mean transfer the ownership? I thought this was the part that can take a while since Tesla has to validate the transfer? The previous post linked above mentioned having them add my account as a driver, which gives me access to the car, then wait for me to get it home and ask them to...

    Supercharging a Used Tesla

So I’m buying a (practically new) used Model 3 this week, it’s over 300mi from where I live and I figured it would make for a great first trip with it - however, I’m wondering about charging stops and whether or not I’ll be able to use the supercharger network? My understanding is that when...
