    Driver Profiles with saved preferences

Just realized this morning that the navigation is tied to the driver profile, too! My daughter has her learner’s permit and drives us to school in the mornings. She has her own driver profile. Navigation destination is set to “WORK” with “SCHOOL” as a waypoint. Once we arrive at school...

    Driver Profiles with saved preferences

Okay, so I was/am aware that all other settings change, per the driver profile selected (or auto-selected with the RFID key or phone key). However, I don’t like how climate changes on-the-fly, too. For example, we got in the Model Y after church, and the driver profile is set to Easy Entry until...

What features do you wish the Model Y came with (Dec 2022/Jan 2023) Wishlist

What do you mean about headlights that write TESLA on the garage wall? Are you joking? My (basic) Autopilot has never phantom braked once. However, it does brake late for red lights and sudden traffic, especially when following distance is set to 2 (it’s better when set to 7). Also, we have a...

What features do you wish the Model Y came with (Dec 2022/Jan 2023) Wishlist

I saw a YouTube video where a guy (I think it was @Gjeebs) got that type of after-market suspension installed on his Model 3 (Y???), and he tuned it all the way up (or down) and tried it out. You’re saying that is superior to air suspension? I’m skeptical.

Return HomeLink and Go with MyQ?

I ordered my 2023 Model Y on 09/20/2022 and took delivery on 11/12/2022. I ordered HomeLink shortly after placing my order for my Model Y and had the TESLA service center install HomeLink w/o issue. How did you verify that you ordered the wrong (outdated) HomeLink?

What features do you wish the Model Y came with (Dec 2022/Jan 2023) Wishlist

When you say “adaptive suspension” and “adjustable suspension”, I am assuming you are referring to air suspension, no??? (I don’t know if another form of suspension that is adjustable aside from air suspension.)

Well, better and more sound dampening is never a bad thing! I won’t disagree with you there, and I, too, would love to have dual pane glass on all four doors. For reference, I own a 2023 Model Y that was Austin-built (DD: 11/12/2022). I am much happier with my Comfort Suspension than when I test...

What features do you wish the Model Y came with (Dec 2022/Jan 2023) Wishlist

Heard the best advice from YouTuber, @Gjeebs: “Place your four fingers BEHIND the screen at the TOP, BOTTOM, or the SIDE and click on-screen wherever you need to click using just your free thumb.” (Same hand.) Works wonderfully during vehicle travel.

Stopping mode changed from HOLD to Creep automatically in snow?

I keep it in HOLD 100% of the time. I noticed that I was unable to change it while driving with snow on the ground. As you can see, the screen options were disabled, but it seemed to have placed it in a “snow” mode of sorts (no mention of a “snow mode” on-screen, mind you) with what felt to me...

I will add auto-open / auto-close frunk to the list. Model Y has… - Hands-free power liftgate. (Unless you are referring to the leg swipe under the rear of the vehicle to trigger the rear liftgate to open. I paid $60 for an after-market kit that I still need to install.) - More...

I have experienced A/C cooled air blowing through a FORD mid-size SUV (smaller than Explorer). I don’t recall what model it was. Aside, I should think that air blown through hot seats intended to cool both the seat and the passenger would absolutely need to be cooled via A/C. Otherwise, uncooled...

NOV2022: Just Took Delivery of My 2023 TESLA Model Y LR/AWD

I’ve never owned a Model 3, but I drove a 2019 Model 3 loaner from TESLA Service. I’m probably not the person to ask. That said, I am aware that my 2023 Model Y has dual-pane glass windows at the driver and the front passenger. I am amazed at how quiet my car rides!

I can honestly say that I am 100% satisfied with my 2023 Model Y. I really think bought it at the right time—TESLA EOY discounts and federal tax credit/s notwithstanding. It snowed all through the night last night and into this morning, and as I was on my way to drop my daughter off at school, I noticed that my 2023 Model Y was not stopping in “HOLD” mode as it normally does in my driver profile. Thanks again for the tip on LiveKey. I just tried it out, and their app is very flimsy. I tried to change my password (in the app) after creating an account, and the LiveKey app crashes every time. I even restarted my iPhone and un/reinstalled the app. Here is a list of PROS / CONS with...

    Working MyQ solution?

Whenever I close my garage door/s using the iPhone MyQ app, my garage door opener light blinks off/on and an alert beeping sound is emitted for about 7-10 seconds before finally closing. It matters not if I am standing just outside my garage in my driveway or if I am in France.

Chamberlain discontinued the HomeKit Home Hub. It used to cost $85.00, but they don’t even sell it anymore. Working MyQ solution?

TESLA just needs to stop being cheap and include the HomeLink hardware in every EV they make. From what I gather, it sounds like legacy Model S/X included this feature at no extra cost. I chose to pay $350 for the HomeLink hardware/install for my 2023 Model Y. I love it, but my goodness that...

    Working MyQ solution?

There are several better solutions available in your techie car—they just cost money. Everyone wants their cut, as ridiculous as it is. I agree with you that automating a button-click to open/close my garage door should not cost extra. Apparently, TESLA/MyQ doesn’t concur.

I took delivery on 11/12/2022. I live in a state with no rebates and no HOV lanes. I got $0 rebates with my purchase. I took delivery before TESLA offered their year-end discounts. My 2023 TESLA Model Y has no USS but has virtually every other TESLA feature. I love my Model Y! ZERO complaints.

Return HomeLink and Go with MyQ?

If I understood you correctly, then I would say you are correct. I pull into my garage in D, and then I used to put it in R to back up when I would pull in too far. Consequently, my auto-close was spotty at best and seemed to only work about 40% of the time (and I had no idea why this was...

Return HomeLink and Go with MyQ?

TESLA technician told me that (per the internally published article/s on this that covers both HomeLink and MyQ—both of which work the same way, as far as determining vehicle location) both MyQ and HomeLink use geolocation for auto-open on approach, and then auto-close is initialized when using...

Return HomeLink and Go with MyQ?

That is strikingly similar to how the MyQ mobile app functions. I wonder if MyQ updated their “TESLA mobile app” to mimic this same functionality for “safety/liability” reasons…????? You definitely do not have HomeLink, you said? That seems odd. Does it blink and beep while immediately closing, or does it blink and beep for 7-10 seconds before the door begins closing?
  37. THEbuz

Return HomeLink and Go with MyQ?

You may well be right about that. I wouldn’t put it past Elon to tap MyQ for TESLA’s cut. I just see MyQ (Chamberlain) as greedy because there is no reason they couldn’t allow Apple Home integration with Siri w/o requiring additional hardware. Again, I can open the MyQ iPhone app and press a...

Return HomeLink and Go with MyQ?

You may be right about that. I’m not arguing—just pointing out that OP’s description sounds familiar based on my experience with the MyQ iPhone app. Personally, I think MyQ is a superior solution to HomeLink, but I think MyQ is greedy for charging a monthly fee to simply automate what I can do...

Return HomeLink and Go with MyQ?

The MyQ “TESLA mobile app” and, thus, the TESLA EV itself are NOT equipped with hardware capable of emitting RF—unless the TESLA EV has HomeLink hardware installed, which is NOT required in order for MyQ to work. I happen to have both MyQ and HomeLink. Instead, the MyQ “TESLA mobile app”...

I have a different theory… What OP shared has occurred in the past 2wks (the change) sounds like what happens when you press the CLOSE button to close the garage door in the MyQ mobile app. (i.e. The garage door opener light/s start/s blinking and the MyQ garage door opener begins beeping for...

    HomeLink Unreliable with Auto-close…???

Auto-open uses geo-location but auto-close is triggered by the opposite drive gear from your approach at auto-open (reverse triggers if you entered in drive and vice versa) after the car has moved 7m upon exiting the garage. Auto-close DOES NOT use geo-location. This info came from a TESLA...

Yes. It is geo-located. You can do this either within the HomeLink/MyQ setting (checkbox to fold mirrors upon arrival) or you can set the mirrors to fold at any location based upon geo-location.
