Apple Music - Difference between Favorites and Favorites Mix?

A quick google search about this revealed that Apple music smart lists are not supported as of yet. Hopefully this will change in the future but the majority of feedback suggests that Apple Music "web" does not support smart lists either, pending a future implementation.

Apple Music - Difference between Favorites and Favorites Mix?

Correct, maybe I used the wrong verbiage but this is it.

Apple Music - Difference between Favorites and Favorites Mix?

I have a custom playlist whereas I applied a rule within Apple Music that anything I "like" goes into this playlist via the rule, continuosly live updating. This is separate from the Favorites Mix playlist. It doesn't seem like my car likes this one for some reason. Anyone else notice that...

Return HomeLink and Go with MyQ?

I tend to agree as the standard app is free with software/hardware essentially doing the same thing. This is a subscription money grab!

Return HomeLink and Go with MyQ?

They posted the preliminary annual subscription fees for Tesla integration on the MyQ website the other day so it's not one/done. I think $45/year and up you go. With Homelink, at least you can open the garage door if the internet craps out or myQ goes out of business. ;)

Apple Music may finally be coming

Yep, I get your point. I just feel that native applications removing bluetooth technology will improve safety.

Apple Music may finally be coming

I have several similar replies like this before but let's consider safety here. Think about it this way using bluetooth... Before we get into our Teslas on a 45 minute drive to work, let me figure out what songs to play and create a playlist, then I hit Bluetooth and take off. Oops...

Excessive Unsafe Following Hits [on my Safety Score]

I get excessive Unsafe following for normal driving most of the time. I don't even want to address aggressive turning as that is the fun part of this car! I guess I'll just pay some of the extra bucks to enjoy my car!

Remove email address user driver profile

Understood, I just wanted to make sure the original question wasn't about a cluttered UI with a "long" email address in the top bar visible on the main screen. You can make that look cleaner by basically using a short name. Cloud profiles I believe are here to stay.

Remove email address user driver profile

I want to make sure this original question wasn't misunderstood. When you mean "remove" your email address, do you just not want it shown on the UI making the screen simply look cluttered? If so, the answer is of course yes. You just go into the driver profile settings, then under "Name" in the...

Best practices for manually saving dash-cam footage?

Ok, maybe my original post wasn’t clear enough and came across as confusing posting things like RTFM or I didn’t know how this worked. What I’m mainly saying may be a feature request I’d like to pose to Tesla. My point was, if you see an accident, the way tesla dash cam currently works is that...

Best practices for manually saving dash-cam footage?

I’ve been trying to figure out a best practice for manually saving dash cam footage. A couple of days ago, I witnessed a crash and a college student in front of me got hit by another vehicle that ran. I was a little surprised and caught up in the moment but immediately pressed the “download”...

Bluetooth “device type” on iOS? Make a difference?

Good to know. So the reason that a iPhone 13 (set to primary) and iPhone 13 pro max always yield priority to the max is technology related? Once my wife gets close to the car with her max pro but myself set as primary, she still always wins. What gives here?
  14. F

Bluetooth “device type” on iOS? Make a difference?

I don’t have that many issues either with the phone key but did you understand my question? On iOS, what did you set as the device type under Bluetooth? Other? Is that what you are insinuating?
  15. F

Bluetooth “device type” on iOS? Make a difference?

Like most people using Bluetooth technology, every now and then we have the dreaded “holding” the handle of the model 3 hoping it will unlock soon. On iOS in the Bluetooth section, does it make any difference what I set the “device type” to be? Anyone experimented here?

    Please help connecting to Wifi

There were all kinds of issues in one of the previous software updates doing just this. Post what version you are on and then search. Most likely the version you are currently on will be updated soon. I had the same thing happen.

    Vehicle configuration update pending?

Typically, this either adds or removes a function that you opted for. Most common is they “remove” the premium sound subscription. (Streaming music, live map, sentry remote live etc. )

    Apple Music

I understand... and this is how I have to use it. But think about what you are saying. Before we get into our Teslas on a 45 minute drive to work, let me figure out what songs to play and make into a playlist, then I hit Bluetooth and take off. Oops... connection error happened, can you please...

    Apple Music

No, just basic streaming services included as native on Tesla OS. Why is there a button for FM/AM/Spotify/Tidal etc. when I can just use Bluetooth? I don't even want to go into the music quality differences on Apple Music compared to Bluetooth etc. Not even close... Elon's answer was...

    Apple Music

I don't understand why they didn't "allow" him to answer the question? His response to Apple Music Support or Amazon Music or [insert any streaming platform here] was to say why do you need it ? The answer is, it is not safe to fidget with a phone over Bluetooth while driving.

2022 Apple CarPlay update vs Tesla UI

At minimum, can't we just get Apple Music integration so one of the safest cars in the world doesn't require its users fumbling with their phones over Bluetooth trying to play a song?

    Lte signal dead?

Sorry for probably the very easy response, but the other day I noticed the cellular lte signal in my 2020 M3 wasn’t connecting. If I press the right wheel, it says “not connected”. I did a reboot or two but it doesn’t return. I scheduled a service call for this but there’s no simply way to...

Getting "Charge Rate Reduced- Wall Plug Temperature High"

More than likely it is the UMC that fails after a while... Tesla replaced mine with a mobile appt. including the 14-50. Damn cabling is so thin... :)

    Charging error codes - CP_a046 - CP_a139 - UMC_a012 - UMC_a017

You can only get the notifications from the car itself so the path it something like this: Tesla Display/Services/Notifications (They disappear after about 24 hours) There are notifications every day by the way when something is up...

    Charging error codes - CP_a046 - CP_a139 - UMC_a012 - UMC_a017

Tesla ended up swapping the UMC and 14-50 for a new set. Seems to be behaving normal again.

    Charging error codes - CP_a046 - CP_a139 - UMC_a012 - UMC_a017

I traded UMC with my neighbor overnight and still tried to charge at 32A. About the same warning messages and notes appeared in Tesla/Services/Notifications overnight as before. Now I'm starting to think the UMC cabling is just too thin... or maybe something is up with my car. My neighbor again...

    Charging error codes - CP_a046 - CP_a139 - UMC_a012 - UMC_a017

I think my last note was unclear. I think it’s the UMC gen 2 mobile connector or maybe my 14-50 Tesla $35 plug.

    Charging error codes - CP_a046 - CP_a139 - UMC_a012 - UMC_a017

The mobile gen 2 charger 14-50 has only been removed 1 time from the plug since I bought the car. The communication messages appeared again when I did a test charge just now. I think it’s the cable charger or maybe the 14-50. Will report back what Tesla says.

    Charging error codes - CP_a046 - CP_a139 - UMC_a012 - UMC_a017

Electrician stopped by and checked everything. He stands behind everything as installed. All areas were tight etc. I did notice that Leviton is the plug and I’m sure Tesla will complain about that. Why didn’t you opt for Hubbell or the Bryant? Electrician said the Leviton was UL approved but...

    Charging error codes - CP_a046 - CP_a139 - UMC_a012 - UMC_a017

I tried to search for these error codes but nothing came up. I have a 2020 M3 with around 6K miles. I live in Texas and in the last couple of weeks my UMC (mobile charger gen 2) has lowered the amperage to 16A due to heat errors. I didn't think much about initially because I had started the...

    Bluetooth volume issues 2021

Following this thread as well. Using an iPhone X, every time I get a phone call it’s just a habit at this time to scroll up on the scroll wheel to hear something. This must be a bug in one or more of the most recent software updates because I don’t remember in being this bad early 2020.
