Hello! Does anyone have pictures of the VS-5RS 18 x 9.5 with 265/40/18 tires??

New Installation with 2 PW+, very low peak and daily solar production.

Update! It has been almost a month since my system was commissioned and I’m still having problems. One of my inverters keeps shutting down immediately after the batteries are fully charged. The other inverter continues to work and export excess energy to the grid. For some reason, the other...

New Installation with 2 PW+, very low peak and daily solar production.

Hi! No, where I live there is no limit on how much you can export Tesla has made many adjustments and sent many remote resets to the system but the problem persist. Everyday, as soon as the batteries are fully charged, one inverter immediately shuts down. If I increase the home load and start...

Exports to grid being capped at 4kw

I have the same issue. I have a two PW+ system with 12.74kW solar and as soon as my PW fills up to 100%, one of the inverters shuts down and only ones continues exporting. The issue was sent to level 2 support, waiting for their response now. I’m loosing half of my solar capacity.

New Installation with 2 PW+, very low peak and daily solar production.

A new issue has arise today. I noticed that when my powerwalls reaches 100% charge, one of my inverters shuts down and only one continues exporting energy to the grid, causing me to lose almost half of my daily production. If my consumption through the day is high enough to prevent the...

PTO registered with Tesla today but no exports to the grid

Hi! Did you get this issue resolved? I’m having the same problem. I have two powerwall plus with PTO approved. When the two batteries reach 100%, one of the inverters shuts down and the other continues exporting. I have net metering so I am loosing half of my solar production. It happens...

New Installation with 2 PW+, very low peak and daily solar production.

Look at the second picture. It is my understanding that the graph logs the data every 5 minutes so 12.9kW may have been the highest value it logged but the live view showed values over that number many times during the day.
  8. J

New Installation with 2 PW+, very low peak and daily solar production.

Quick update! Today was my first full day with the system fully working. This build is insane! We had a fairly cloudy day, you can see the many ups and downs in the graph, however the system managed to produce 72kWh and peaks as high as 14.4kW. Very impressed so far!
  9. J

New Installation with 2 PW+, very low peak and daily solar production.

Got it! I stand corrected! That’s what the meant, they don’t have to worry as much about it if they combined the strings in parallel or not, either way they jump them. I’m sure in more complex installs strings sizes and combinations become much more relevant but for many small/medium...
  10. J

New Installation with 2 PW+, very low peak and daily solar production.

They didn’t, they are using higher wattage panels (490W) instead of the Tesla branded ones. Since it is only two strings, they jump them to avoid running into voltages that are two high without having to pay much attention to strings sizes. If they had more than two “independent strings” they...

New Installation with 2 PW+, very low peak and daily solar production.

Hello! Just letting everyone one know that the issue has been fixed. There were two problems limiting the system performance. One inverter was producing perfectly fine but the other was running at 20-30% its expected capacity. There where problems in both strings coming down to that inverter...
  12. J

New Installation with 2 PW+, very low peak and daily solar production.

I do have two 7.6 inverters since that was a requirement I had. I will be expanding the system over time above 15kw so I wanted to have the capacity in place. No, the system is not mis configured since I do see it exporting energy to the grid if I don’t use it. I do have some concerns about the...
  13. J

New Installation with 2 PW+, very low peak and daily solar production.

Both inverters are working, they are coming back tomorrow to check the connections in the roof but both inverter show both strings working correctly with the same voltages. I have 4 totals strings, two to each inverter.
  14. J

New Installation with 2 PW+, very low peak and daily solar production.

Yeah, if I had one but I have two. Even if I had one, with a 12.7 system I would expect it to be clipping at 7.6 for good amount of time daily and it is not even getting close to that.
  15. J

New Installation with 2 PW+, very low peak and daily solar production.

Hello! I have 26 panels facing south, I am located in PR where we get an average of 5.5 hours of full sun daily. Considering those fact, a 12.7kw system shouldn’t have a peak of about 6KW daily, let alone less than 50KWh of daily production. My father have a system installed more than 10 years...

New Installation with 2 PW+, very low peak and daily solar production.

Hi! I have a recently installed 12.7KW system with two PW+. I’m getting only about 6.2-6.3KW peak production in full sun and the system is producing about 40KWh daily. I know those numbers are low and I contacted my installer which came to check the installation but couldn’t figure out the...

About $1,500 more for the two PW+ setup.
  18. J

    2 Powerwall+ vs 1 Powerwall+ and one regular Powerwall

Hey thanks for the info! It is my understanding that if one of the inverters goes bad, the system will continue operating and charging both batteries from the other inverter alone. Regarding the inverter being able to handle more than 7.6kw Tesla does recommend a maximum DC/AC ratio of 1.7...

    2 Powerwall+ vs 1 Powerwall+ and one regular Powerwall

Hello! Im looking to instal a 10.2kw DC system consisting of 24 425w panels. My installer is offering me to option of getting 2 Powerwall+ or 1 Powerwall+ with the second Powerwall being the regular Powerwall 2. As I understand, the Powerwall+ has a 7.6kw inverter that may be maxed out...

Mountain Pass Lightweight Rotors - Test and Install

Hi! I’ve been looking at the MPP Rotors for my Mode 3 but I have a couple of questions. I have a M3P, it is my understanding that the M3P have 355mm rotors in the front. I see that MPP have a Performance front rotor for the M3P that uses stock sizing (355mm) but also have a Stoptech BBK...

    2021 Performance vibration

I am having this exact same issue with my 2021 M3P. Tire balance was checked twice and they are perfectly balanced. I swapped the front tires to the back and the issue persists. It’s a very subtle vibration around 60-65 mph, but doesn’t seems to get worse with higher speeds. I’ve been thinking...

Hi all. Here is my update. I placed my order 10/31, for delivery in Jacksonville, FL. Since the beginning the estimated delivery date was 12/05-12/30. This week, tuesday it changed to 12/16-12/26 but no VIN. On thursday a VIN was assigned and delivery date changed to 12/16-12/20. Today, I was...

M3P OEM Michelin Pilot Sport 4 vs 4S

I agree, we will have to see how they perform. However, in my case, I don’t care much about them since there is no way I can go around daily driving 20” wheels on the streets here. What I’ve been thinking is getting the PS4S in 245/45/18 instead of the OEM 235/45/18. What do you think about...

M3P OEM Michelin Pilot Sport 4 vs 4S

Thanks for the info, i’m definitely getting the PS4S even though they don’t have to acoustic foam.

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

Yeah, that’s what I thought but there was a report at some point of Tesla putting HW2.5 to some cars out of their China factory if the buyer didn’t paid for FSD and they have a rather ambiguous language on their website stating that the FSD package includes the “FSD Computer” (see screenshot)...

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

I’ve been looking to get some aftermarket wheels. Right now, I am almost convinced to get Titan7 T-S5 in 18”. Definitely not driving in PR with 20” wheels and that insanely tiny sidewall.
  39. J

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

Thaaanks!! Are you able to test performance? 0-60 times? 1/4 mile? Did you pay for FSD? If not, did the car came with HW3.0 installed? Thanks again!

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

I’m with you guys. I prefer the Michelins, however I’m sad to announce that they did change to Pirelli this year. It’s on the website when you select the performance option. Take a look at the attached screenshot. I will be changing my wheels to 18 with Michelin PS4S anyways but it’s a change I...

    Model 3 Performance Waiting Room

Looks like Tesla changed wheels size and tire brand. The ubers are 20x9 +34, but they are still using the same tire size as before with 235/35/20 Pirelli. Before they had 20x8.5 +35 wheels with Michelins but same tire size. Interesting...I was going with 18x8.5 but I may look to get 18x9 to...

M3P OEM Michelin Pilot Sport 4 vs 4S

Hi! I will be getting a M3P soon and I will be changing the wheels to 18” as soon as I get it. I will be getting a set of forged wheels but I am not decided yet, thinking on getting the Titan7 TS-5. However, I’ve been researching tires and currently I’m undecided. I wanted to know the...
