Highest mileage driven so far & reliability issue’s long term.

For your spec it's 318mi. BUT! Don't take this number as a real range that you can make. The real drive distance is somewhere around 200mi, depending on speed and environment. If you want to know the more real projected range - open Enegry app. It shows the projected range based on the history...

    NEMA 14-50 home charging advice

The only assumption I have about your 205V is that you actually have true two phases for two hots, instead of "split phase" type of connection, which is the most typical for residential usage. "Split phase" is when a single phase transformed into two hot wires with a 180-degree phase, so the...

Need assistance on installing Tesla Wall charger ver 3

Out of topic but.. The supercharger is called a "supercharger" because it bypasses the car charger and delivers the DC power directly to the battery. The onboard charger can do 48A maximum (about 11 kWh), while the supercharger delivers up to 250kWh.

Need assistance on installing Tesla Wall charger ver 3

#4/2 Romex does not exist. Probably double-check with your electrician, if in your situation you need any kind of "raceway" for THHN cable or not. If yes, just make the math of the cheapest "raceway". It's not necessary should be an expensive metal conduit, because your cable will not be exposed...

Need assistance on installing Tesla Wall charger ver 3

There are many debates around that 55amp rated cable is not suitable for 48A installation because don't meet the 20% rule. But many people install those and do just fine. Check here: Tesla Listed electrician using NM-B 6/2 and configures 48A of Max charging current | Tesla Motors Club

Need assistance on installing Tesla Wall charger ver 3

Not conduit explicitly. According to the National Electrical Code (NEC) Art 300, Individual conductors must be installed in a raceway, cable, or enclosure. So if you have a "raceway" or "enclosure" where cables can be protected from physical damage (that's the main purpose of conduit), it's...

CCS Adapter is Now Available in the US Tesla Store

Having this adapter in the car helped me and other Model 3 driver to avoid being stuck in the middle of nowhere in Oklahoma yesterday, where not much of superchargers. Local energy provider Francis Energy building its own fast-charging network across the state there, which is quite good I would say.

Tesla almost left me stranded - again.

I think if make a habit to plan arrival SOC minimum 15-20% when you plan your route, then you would not have this issue. Having 24% and understanding that it's winter, mountains and you need another 20 min to drive, you were taking a risk and as result didn't play well. Also, deep discharge is...

Only 12A on NEMA 10-30 outlet

... just a note, before doing that, make sure you stop charging and disconnect the plug from Tesla first.
  13. A

Only 12A on NEMA 10-30 outlet

Yeah, maybe you are right. But as far as I understand, the 12A is displayed right at the beginning of the charging. If this would be a thermal throttling because of the loose contacts or something, a drop to 12A would happen later in the charging cycle but not immediately
  14. A

Only 12A on NEMA 10-30 outlet

The application is showing 12/12A. The first number is a current amperage, the second number is the max amperage limited by hardware. Since the second number is 12, it means that for some reason, tesla, or tesla charger limits the max limit to just 12A. Something tells the car, that connected...

    Automatic Turn Signal

I think Tesla preparing us that stalks will be removed from all cars soon.. but I agree, this new feature works awesome and after using it for a few days I started to think that having just turn buttons on the steering wheel makes more sense with this functionality.

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

It does work. LO/MED/HI are related to auto mode. Each of those 3 selections is a relative fan speed to the desired temperature. So if you set it to HI, your climate set to 72, and it's currently 72 in the cabin - the fan will not work on max speed. It will work around 3-4 in manual mode. But if...

    Model Y 5 vs 7 seats

There is no right answer to this question. If your 2013 communter is Honda or Lexus, it probably will not die soon if you make regularly required maintenance. If this is how you normally change cars, buying a new one when the previous one dies. Then probably you don't need to rush and drive...

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

This is not perfect climate control... it's a climate control from 80s Modern climate control, controls everything: fan speed, the temperature of airflow, recirculation, and flow direction. With the first three - tesla works just fine. With an automatic flow direction - I agree, there is room...

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

This temperature control (e.g.72) is your desired temperature inside of the cabin. It's not how hot or cold the air should blow out of the vent. Let's say it's 30 outside. You sit down into a car, the climate is set to 72. So your car will begin blowing as hot as possible air out of vents, to...

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

When you select "Auto" mode, it will select "Auto" for everything, but then you just deselect "auto" only for seats, and the rest of the climate control system will remain in "Auto" mode, except the selected seat.
  26. A

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

For me, "Auto" works just fine. I set in a range 71-74 degrees in auto mode in summer and winter and the car manages a comfortable temperature. I never set the temperature to like "LO" or "HI". For some reason, people think if they set "LO" that car will cool down faster or if put "HI" it warms...

Winter tires or winter tire package with tire/rim

It depends on the operating temperature. If it's below 45 degrees, snow tires will have normal wear on dry roads and much better performance than all seasons. You never know when you might need that extra grip to stop your car in time.
  34. A

Winter tires or winter tire package with tire/rim

    1. You can quickly swap the tires in the garage by yourself 2. It's safer for the tires. Two sets of tires will last you much longer than one set. If you drive 10K on average per year, each set of tires will last you at least 5 years. So if you reinstall the tires on the same rim, the edges of...

Winter tires or winter tire package with tire/rim

Yes, it's not allowed in 11 states. But it's allowed in Seattle, where the topic author is from. So for him, it's an option. It's not thaaaaat excessive road damage, to be honest. Regular 18-wheeler cause much more damage to the roads. Those 11 states that are not allowed to use studded tires...

Winter tires or winter tire package with tire/rim

For good traction on the icy road, it's to use chains or studded snow tires. Chains - are usually for very extreme weather conditions, whereas studded snow tires can be used during all winter season even on a clean paved road. They are just a little louder than usual winter tires. But if you...

Snow tires for 2022 Model Y

Winter tires are not only for snow storms. Winter tires have softer rubber compound and because of that, they perform much better in cool/cold weather even on a completely dry and clean road. The normal operating temperature for winter tires is around 45F and below. But even if a few days during...

Snow tires for 2022 Model Y

In Texas I don't need a winter tires anymore, but in climat like your, I would deeeeeefinitely have two set of tires - summer tires and winter tires. all-seasons is like having half of summer tires' performance and less than half of winter tires' performance. What extension cable should I use (50AMP or 30AMP) NEMA 14-30 and NEMA 14-50?

I use one extension cord 14-30 for 50ft, it's $190 on Amazon. and Tesla 14-30 adapter. If I encounter 14-50 outlet which I need to extend from, I have 14-50 to 14-30 adapter and then use the same 14-30 extension cord, which gives 24A and that's more than enough to charge Tesla overnight. This...

What extension cable should I use (50AMP or 30AMP) NEMA 14-30 and NEMA 14-50?

    Tesla Model Y charging concern

400m, it's not bad. Like 10-15 min walking distance I guess.. If it's suitable for your just to leave the car there and walk back home/work for a long time, that's the way to do it. 10% to 90% charging should take a bout 7-8 hours, so if you can leave your car there overnight, and then just come...

    Tesla Model Y charging concern

@Ronika I would suggest downloading PlugShare application and explore the Level 2 chargers around you. Wire size for wall charger

The only concern here is this, the very first line: "For maximum power output, install a standard double pole 60 amp circuit breaker". So the manual says to use 60A breaker but does not say that you can't use a higher breaker if that in compliance with the code
