I cringe when I think of the huge amount of energy wasted on this feature. I understand using it in specific places, but to leave it on all the time seems crazy.

I'm seeing more and more 100Ds for sale under $50k, some in the mid 40s. A 100D would be a way better car with a longer battery and drive unit warranty for just a few thousand more.

My wife wants a Model Y. I personally think it's by far the ugliest Tesla, but a good, practical car. I told her we'd have to be crazy to pay the current price. Mid $50k - sure, almost $70k - no way. Tesla is going through the order backlog quickly and will have to drop prices soon.

If your car is not showing any errors, it was probably just a bad supercharger stall.

I was thinking the same thing as you, but I didn't realize that 60kWh core packs are close to worthless. The upgrade cost estimates on the 057 Tech website for a car with a 60kWh battery are pretty steep ($15.5k to $21.5k using the VIN from my old car). A refurbished battery directly from Tesla...

The damage must be minor/localized or the estimate will quickly go from $7k to $20k. Glad you're ok.

Gruber "fix" is not a real fix. The car will work for a while, but the BMS will eventually shut things down again as the imbalance gets out of control. wk057 is your best bet, especially since you're on the East Coast. He provides a real fix at a reasonable price.

Interesting take, but most people considering a used $30k Model S will likely be cross shopping against other models and brands, not a $100k new Model S.

Teslas are very common around here and have been for a while. I'm seeing Taycans on a regular basis now too. I counted 4 in a parking structure at a recent PTO fundraiser. I saw an EQS and Lucid Air recently too.

Neither. Remanufactured batteries still have their old, degraded cells.

These so-called repairs come up in threads on a daily basis, but they are not long term repairs. Hoovies car shut down at 35 miles of range left after this fix. Replacing modules and removing a cell are not real fixes and the BMS will shut things down due to the imbalance. Jason Hughes (wk057)...

Read wk057's post again. His testing showed that Tesla's new limits are too conservative.

The significant drop in supercharging speed is bad enough, but trying to hide it from the affected owners like that is just deceitful. It's not like the owners won't actually notice that the charging is taking much longer than estimated. Tesla must think we're all just a bunch of idiots.

All Xs still have the battery warranty, but it seems to mean less and less every month as Tesla finds ways to keep them alive until the warranty runs out.

As of last night, it did not show up on my car's map. I did see that it was listed on Tesla's website. There is not much of a backup around there if I planned on using it and it turned out to be not working.

I don't know who your energy supplier is, but according to ComEd, you cannot be on hourly pricing with grid tied solar system. Makes sense to me that a kWh of energy used from the grid would be worth the same as a kWh sent back to the grid.
