Gen 3 wall connector will not connect to wi-fi, how do I make sure the current is set correctly

After installing my wall connector, I could connect my phone to the WC's network, but it just showed a picture of the WC with a spinning wheel. This was on an iphone using Safari. After several attempts, I switched over to Chrome on the phone. Same thing, but if I refreshed the page, I'd see the...

    2 Model Y or Ioniq 5?

LOL - Both of ours are white on white! My garage looks like something out of Star Wars.

    Vendor 【Up to 40% Off Discount】AOSK Popular Model Y Accessories limited-time sale.

Glad I saw this. The wife was just telling me she needed mudflaps (for her MY). Ordered with the still-active discount.

    2 Model Y or Ioniq 5?

My wife needed a new car and I haven't driven anything that even comes close to the Model Y (including my old Model 3). It was a no brainer to get her one too. We both love them, have plenty of solar panels on the roof, and it's simple to switch between the cars as we've set them up identically.

    Front License plates

Mine was a fix-it ticket for first offense. I believe the fine was $220 if you didn't get it signed off. Break-ins are normal in SF. No correlation, but don't think the thieves know anything (or care) about sentry mode.

    S3XY buttons at Abstract Ocean

I wish you could program a button to do several things at once. One for hot days and once for cold days. Honestly, I don't know why Tesla doesn't incorporate this already. Hot: A/C on, temp set to 75, fan set to 5, vents set to blowing on your face only. Cold: A/C off, temp set to 68, fan set...

    Front License plates

Posted already, but I want to reiterate: If you park your car, without a front plate, on the street in San Francisco, you WILL get a ticket. You will also have a high probability of getting your car broken into.

Help me find a way to charge!

I believe some cities/utilities offer credits to landlords and business owners to install chargers. Maybe that is something that's happening in your area.

    October 2021 Order Delivery Dates

How desperate would someone have to be to get the car to do something like this? I want the car in April. That's why I ordered in October. If I wanted it in January, I would have ordered earlier. There's a hundred ways to raise funds on a moment's notice. That doesn't mean I want to go through...

    October 2021 Order Delivery Dates

For me, it's not a matter of being upset. I just don't happen to have 65K laying around. I have to move money around to be able to write the check. Them telling me on a Friday over the holidays that my previous-April delivery was going to be ready in three days is unmanageable. It is physically...

Tesla Failed to Send in my Registration

We got the plates this week. They were FedEx'd to us by Tesla. I would have thought they'd come from the DMV. Anyhow, a little over two weeks since we dropped off the paperwork.

    October 2021 Order Delivery Dates

And.... Low and behold, my date has been magically moved up to March/April. It's all meaningless at this point.

Thanks. I'm relieved to hear I'm not being punished for declining delivery over the Holidays.

    Problems with rear hatch

I had this problem with my MYLR built 6/2020. The hatch would close, but not latch. I had to push on it to get it to close all the way. I tried adjusting the stops and it didn't help. The problem was the latch didn't line up exactly with the catch. I had a mobile tech come out and look at it...

    October 2021 Order Delivery Dates

So, I ordered Oct. 10, 2021 and my original EDD was April. Then, at the first of the year, I was offered a car, but there was no way to raise the funds in time to pick it up, so I politely declined the car. At that point, my date moved to March. Two weeks later, the date pushed out to July...

Selling new inventory instead of fulfilling existing orders?!?

I also think there are some shenanigans afoot. I ordered in Oct., and originally got an EDD of April. Then, over the holidays, they tried to sell me a car someone rejected. I declined the offer and my EDD moved to March. Now, two weeks later, my EDD jumped out until July. SA is ignoring my...

Tesla Failed to Send in my Registration

Well, this is embarrassing. Turns out my wife didn't read through her info packet after getting the car and neglected to send in the signed DMV forms. This is her car (solely in her name), so I'll do my best to blame her. It's our third Tesla, but it was the first to be dropped off without us...

Tesla Failed to Send in my Registration

I got the same letter today. Went to the DMV and they acted like this had never happened before. Like most visits to the DMV, it was a complete waste of time. They couldn't even tell me what the letter meant or what exactly the problem was. The DMV said there was no record of the car, despite...

Glare from side repeaters in blind spot camera?

I have a 2020 MYLR that exhibits the glaring glare from the turn signals on both sides. My wife has a 2021 MYLR that I drove for the first time tonight (since the software update). Her car does not exhibit the glare from the blinkers. Not at all.

Cell service indicator in new UI

In the old UI, there was an indicator along the top of the screen that told you how many bars of cell service the car was receiving. This was useful to me because I live in an area with very poor cell service (middle of Silicon Valley - LOL). I don't see the bars anymore. Are they located...

Moronic placement of backup cam in V11

This will be fixed. I imagine you'll be able to configure where you want the popup to reside. At least, that's what it would be if they let me handle their UI.

    November Orders

I ordered the same car in November as well, with an expected April delivery. Got a text today that it was ready. I politely declined as I've just got too much stuff going on around the holidays to squeeze this in too.

Holiday Update (2021.44.25.2)- A Big Disappointment

This. This. 1000 times this. Are all the slacker Tesla UI millennials ridin' low with one hand at the 6 o'clock?

AutoWipers Still dont work well on 2021 Model Y

Agreed. We're getting tons of rain here and since the update, they seem to have improved.

    Car ready too soon!

Before this thread careens completely off the rails, I chatted up Tesla and told them I didn't want this car. They don't know if I'll get the next one that pops up or if I have to wait until April, but there was no talk of having to accept delivery in the next 30 days. He (Albert) just said a...

    Car ready too soon!

At the beginning of November, I ordered a Midnight Gray/White MYLR. The expected delivery date was supposed to be sometime in April, which was fine with me. I just got a text from Tesla saying the car will be ready the first week of January (four months early). Now, I'm not really opposed to...

If you traded your 3 for a Y do you have any regrets?

I don't miss a single thing about my old Model 3. The Y is better in every respect.

Homelink usefullness vs regular garage door opener

If I am backed into my driveway and have the garage door open when leaving, driving straight out and to the left down the street will not close the garage door. This is a fact for me and is 100% repeatable.

    Modern Spare Finally Arrived!

I got mine in August. I didn't order anything but the plain spare. Since it was backordered for so long, they sent a free roadside safety kit with the vest and reflectors. I picked up a tire storage bag from Amazon for a few bucks. I don't want a flimsy jack, I carry a hydraulic floor jack when...

Homelink usefullness vs regular garage door opener

I agree. Sometimes I back into my driveway to charge while the garage is in use for other things. The HomeLink module doesn't work when backing in.

Homelink usefullness vs regular garage door opener

If it works "just" like Tesla's version, then it works 90% of the time. That's my experience. I hope Tailwind is better than Tesla.

Model Y West Coast waiting room (July Orders)

OK - I did, but most people seem to think it's a waste of money. I don't know what to think.
  33. D

    Garage Door Opener?

Until that one time you forget to push the button and all the stuff in your garage gets stolen. OTOH, my homelink module fails to close the door about 10% of the time, so it's probably more dangerous.
  34. D

Model Y West Coast waiting room (July Orders)

This is actually my second Y with the exact same config. I know for a fact I'll love it! I'll have to look into the ceramic treatment for the seats. Is it DIY?
  35. D

    Garage Door Opener?

That's the thing: I have Tesla's Homelink module installed in one of my cars. It works about 90% of the time. Always works coming home, but leaving, maybe 1 out of 5 fails and I have to manually press the screen. If it worked "every time" for me, I wouldn't be looking for other solutions.

Constantly rattling door at highway speeds - can you help me diagnose ahead of SC visit? [video]

Put your hand inside the cubby and push on the inside of it. The cubby is actually a completely different piece of plastic than the door. The two pieces are held together with plastic rivets. If the noise goes away when you push on the inside of the cubby, you probably have the same problem I...

    Fixed Passenger Door Rattle

Update: After a few months, the noise returned, so I took it apart again and replaced the shims with a liberal application of silicon sealant. Noise has not returned since doing this and it's been quite a while now. To answer another person's question: The panels are extremely simple to remove...

    Garage Door Opener?

With the Chamberlin MyQ app, not only can I check the status of the garage door. but it's set up to send me an alert if the door is left open for longer than 15 minutes. It also allows for remote open/close.

    Delivery travails

If there's a service center nearby, it probably doesn't make much of a difference if you find problems. I'm curious though: Would Tesla refund the cost of the third-party delivery if you rejected the car? Maybe they would waive the fee for the second delivery. However, if you flew there, got...

Model Y West Coast waiting room (July Orders)

Yeah, when I ordered, they said delivery wasn't available (I'm about 15 miles from the factory), but then they changed their mind. They delivered my Model 3 way back when, then I had to pick up my first Y in 6/20, and this one was delivered. I wasn't even home when it was dropped off, but it...
  41. D

    Delivery travails

I'm not sure you'll ever get an exact delivery date until a day or two before it's set. Have you been able to escalate the issue at Tesla. Maybe you could get someone high enough up who could actually do something about it. Tesla doesn't want cars sitting on their lots. If you can get there in a...

Model Y West Coast waiting room (July Orders)

Orderer July 10. White/White/LR/Induction. Original EDD was end of Sept., then on the 30th, it bumped out to 10/1-10/4. Car was delivered the afternoon of 10/2 and is spotless.
  43. D

Model Y West Coast waiting room (June 2021 orders)

My experience was somewhat similar. Ordered early July and the EDD window got narrower and narrower. On 9/28, it changed to 9/29-30 and stayed that way until the night of the 30th. Then it changed to 10/1-10/2. At some point after that, it changed to 10/2 @ 2am. I didn't really believe any of it...

    CA Waiting Room

Mine is definitely not touching. Probably an 1/8th of an inch clearance. Maybe a little less.

    Spot on Windshield

On my old Model 3, I noticed a quarter-sized blemish in the rear window. Figured it was just a smudge, but when I took it to the tint guys, they said it was internal. Tesla replaced the whole giant glass piece. Took forever to get the glass and I lost the cool orange color the original windows had.

Delivery times of Tesla Model-Y (June-July orders)

No, they dropped it off around 1pm in the afternoon. 13 hours early. Car is spotless.
  47. D

    CA Waiting Room

I sold my 3 a little over a year ago. Tried Carmax and Vroom and was lowballed so bad it was insulting. Put it on Craigslist and had multiple cash offers within 20 minutes. Guy came with bundles of hundreds like you see in gangster movies. Couldn't have been easier.
  48. D

    CA Waiting Room

Tesla dropped it off this afternoon. I'll tell you this, it is, BY FAR, the cleanest Tesla I've seen yet (I had a 3 and also have another Y). I can't find anything out of place. The paint (white) is much better than my other white Y. Panel gaps all match, hatch closes and is perfectly aligned...

    Current Delivery Times

Delivery times of Tesla Model-Y (June-July orders)

I felt the same way back when I got my Model 3. It was embarrassing how bad Tesla performed from a delivery standpoint. And I'm embarrassed in how emotionally invested I was in the whole process. But, trust me, the cars are so good that this will be soon forgotten. I get my third Tesla...
