    Canada - FSD rollout

Another 2018 LR M3 here got the FSD Beta on Saturday afternoon as well, finally after several months babying the score between 98-99 on a daily commute into downtown. Safety score gone from the phone app now though?

    Cruise control unavailable

I unplugged the USB devices in the center console before going into Drive and Cruise Control/AP are working again. This morning plugged them back in and formatted the dashcam USB from the menu and all back to normal. Firmware 12.3.1 on a 2018 M3

12.3.1 same thing here, going to play with USB tonight to see if it helps.

    Canada - FSD rollout

You could do the scroll wheel reset, it now records your current drive into the score and splits subsequent driving into a new trip without even parking the car. The screen restart will take longer than exiting and entering the car though so arguable which is more convenient in your situation.

    Canada - FSD rollout

99 on 1500+ km in the GTA on a 2018 M3, still nothing yet. Driving into the downtown core everyday trying to baby this score is getting mildly annoying.

Let's talk winter tires for the 3

I had the Nokian Hakka R3's mounted on the stock aero rims through last winter on my LR RWD. Definitely felt a bit squirmy and noisier than stock Michelins, but traction was excellent. The only time it didn't feel as sure-footed was when there was more than >5 cm unplowed snow a couple times...

Are Canadians still getting Model 3s right now?

Passed this info and email to a friend with an SR+ pending delivery in the next week or two. Apparently was able to switch to 3.52% 72 months with Scotia. Would recommend those with pending deliveries do the same if the Scotia rate is cheaper, thanks for the tips everyone!

    AP/FSD sale ends March 18th

Had existing EAP, caved and bought FSD. Mostly because the HW3 upgrade may help with existing EAP features being able to run all cameras at full framerate. Anyone get any sort of receipt or email confirm? The only thing that happened was it shows up under my car on the website (and my wallet...

Eaton Center in Toronto is getting a Tesla Showroom

As a fan I'm really hoping the Eaton Centre location still happens.. sigh. I work in the Toronto downtown core where (1) the average income is quite high and (2) most of these workers are in non-tech fields like finance, consulting, and corporate management positions. They all have heard...

Snow driving, Model 3 RWD with snow tire handles better than RX350 with snow tires.

Model 3 RWD with Hakka R3's as well. Drove around the GTA quite a bit Saturday and Sunday, pretty happy with the snow performance overall. Acceleration on completely unplowed roads can't match AWD, but the traction control was phenomenal. It would allow you to slip for a split second before...

Model 3 didnt brake / stop!!

Like others have said, your entire description sounds exactly like the ABS (anti-lock brakes) working as its supposed to. If the brakes allowed the sliding to occur your wife wouldn't be decelerating any more and would have additionally lost steering control as well. Unfortunately, not being...

    Model 3 doors/windows/mirrors + Ice = trouble

When You You stopped by with his Model 3 in February in the dead of night it was something ridiculous like -30C up in Vaughan, the only issue we found with a few dozen people poking and prodding at the car was the handle being stuck open. I suspect there was rain or moisture causing these...

Who has lost regen with winter tires?

There's a disagreement on this thread whether AWD is affected, from the information available if I recall correctly: - All RWD owners are experiencing this issue switching to winter tires - Two AWD owners are experiencing this issue switching to winter tires, a bunch of others state they are not...

Who has lost regen with winter tires?

The issue and this thread pre-dated 42.x, it has nothing to do with confirmation bias. I'm still on 39.7 and have the issue after switching to winter tires. I don't really buy your argument given how widespread 42.x is distributed and how few users are reporting issues with fw change alone...
  18. eepic

Who has lost regen with winter tires?

I disagree, the more we can help isolate the issue the better. Until we have more reports of issues with regen with just a firmware update and no other changes (given the widespread rollout of 42.x), I'm not really convinced. In either case whatever you are experiencing would be a separate...

Anybody use the stock rims with their Winter tires?

I put Nokian R3's onto my stock aero wheels this weekend, definitely surprised by the whirring noise of the tires. Maybe it's because there's no engine noise to drown it out but it's a (very mild) annoyance at highway speeds. Folks on other forums say this will go away after a few hundred...

Who has lost regen with winter tires?

I installed Nokian R3's on stock aero's over the weekend on my RWD. Regen definitely feels different, on screen it's limited to maybe 1/3 of the bar even when dots are gone, and certainly need to use the brakes a lot more at higher speeds. That said, maybe I was psychologically ready from this...

Tesla Winter Tire Package - Lead-time?

There was one user who is using Tesla's package with Pirelli Sottozero's and has the same regen issue. So far the only thing that seems to be consistent is that only RWD is affected and not AWD.

Who has lost regen with winter tires?

As a control group to rule out some theories, I'm still on the stock 18" setup and finally got v9 (39.x) on Saturday: - No perceived difference in regen from v8 to v9 - No perceived difference in regen from colder temperatures once the car warms up and dots disappear - Yes, Wh/km efficiency has...

Who has lost regen with winter tires?

I disagree, someone was describing less aggressive regen at higher speeds. I'm offering some possible clarification so that everyone has as much understanding as possible regarding what the system should/shouldn't be doing. That way we can better help isolate the cause of the actual issue.
  26. eepic

Who has lost regen with winter tires?

I'm still on my factory 18" aero + primacy and have noticed less regen due to colder weather (with dots). I'm not dismissing this issue at all, but wanted to note regen is always stronger at lower speeds until you slow down to creep/near stop. From a technical perspective it makes sense if...

Important clarification about my earlier post, Bloomberg can't tell the geography 22% of accounts. I know nothing of how they get their information, but I assume by compiling public filings. I'm not an expert but I believe Tesla, or someone managing for them, would know the address of each...

"Going Private = Forced Liquidation" for many Investors

Agreed that if they set up a publicly listed holding company or trust to hold TSLA, it's still going to trade and shorts will find their way in. So we'll see a similar amount of interest, attention, and noise. All that will change is less obligation to drill down to the details every quarter...

"Going Private = Forced Liquidation" for many Investors

TL;DR If Tesla goes private, it may inadvertently force a lot of long term shareholders to sell some/all of their position. I've been a believer in Elon and Tesla's mission for over five years now. I can comfortably claim that I am a true long term investor, having slowly (and painfully)...

Tesla up-selling is partly to blame for some people in Ontario not getting EV rebates

I disagree, they sent an email invitation to configure and it gave an option to get a LR+PUP now, or other builds later with an estimate of when it would be.
