POLL: vibration felt when slightly accelerating refresh Mode S Plaid or LR

I have the same impression. Definitely gets worse in low temperatures. Here on Norway it is around 0C now and I feel the vibration every day.
  2. K

Service Bulletin out on Hard Acceleration "Shudder"

Please let us know if/when you get the new Plaid vibration. I got that after I had mine 2019 Raven fixed. It is a vibration that is always there in the speed range 40-60 mph.

"Refreshed" Model S model VIBRATION tracking and information thread!!!

Alternatively, install lowering links from n2itive adjusted to -5 (20 mm). Maybe also install their products to adjust the rear camber. Seems like their products are top notch!

"Refreshed" Model S model VIBRATION tracking and information thread!!!

I will ask Tesla to lower the suspension 20mm and replace the half shafts in April. They have lowered it before, so I know that is possible.
  5. K

"Refreshed" Model S model VIBRATION tracking and information thread!!!

Can someone with a Plaid or LR check the part numbers of the half shafts? Would like to confirm they are the same as the ones I have on my Raven.
  6. K

"Refreshed" Model S model VIBRATION tracking and information thread!!!

Yes, under hard acceleration it seems to blend with the general shaking of the car.
  7. K

"Refreshed" Model S model VIBRATION tracking and information thread!!!

It starts in that range. I can feel the vibration all the way up to ~65 mph, especially when going uphill.
  8. K

"Refreshed" Model S model VIBRATION tracking and information thread!!!

How can you be so sure? It has the exact same symptoms as described for the refresh and I have had the bulletin SB-21-39-001 done. I have the following halfshafts: 1626636-00-A 1626638-00-A It was after this SB I got the vibration.

"Refreshed" Model S model VIBRATION tracking and information thread!!!

I have this vibration issue on my Model S Raven and I’m evaluating trading it in for a Model Y. It’s that bad. The Model Y is smooth like silk compared to mine. I am located in Norway, so need to make a decision quick wrt new taxes.
  10. K

"Refreshed" Model S model VIBRATION tracking and information thread!!!

I have a 2019 Raven Model S and started to notice this vibration some time after the shudder service bulletin. They changed the halfshafts and repositioned the clevis mount. The original shudder is gone, but this vibration is worse in a way because I feel it a lot during normal driving. On my...

The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

Short update here. The hum is definitely still there. On my car, it seems to vary a bit how noticable it is. I think its more noticable when the car is cold. Just tried another set of wheels (19 inch) to rule that out. Same hum/vibration. When they did the bulletin, I think they moved the...

The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

This resembles my experience as well. The «hum» is on acceleration and most noticable on good road conditions?
  13. K

Service Bulletin out on Hard Acceleration "Shudder"

Thanks. I agree, it shouldn’t be like that. In April, I will put on new tires and have it checked again. The issue is easy to reproduce. Soon time for winter tires here in Norway.
  14. K

Service Bulletin out on Hard Acceleration "Shudder"

Tesla rebalanced the front tires. That removed the vibration. I still have a vibration under hard acceleration, but I guess that is normal.
  15. K

Service Bulletin out on Hard Acceleration "Shudder"

I have the exact same. Like a humming/vibration. Most noticable on good roads, but still very annoying. Anyone who got this fixed? I am taking my car in for this tomorrow. I highly doubt they will fix it though..

Back seats Model Y vs. S

How is the size of the Model Y back seats compared to Model S ? Live in Norway, so there are no Model Y here. Is the Model Y back seat almost the same as Model 3?
  17. K

New air suspension controls = bad functionality

I agree. The new default sucks. When set to a certain height, it should just stay there until you cross the next max speed.
  18. K

The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

Is this fix ready for Model S too?

Project Palladium Wishlist - New Model S and X

    - Tow hitch (motorized) - Better noise isolation - Interior similar to Model 3, but even better finish. But keep small displays for driver and passenger - CCS - Plaid - Larger adjustable spoiler - Wider tires
  20. K

Model S range and interior update imminent?

I think they will change the front to be more like Model 3 and Plaid will be more sporty.
  21. K

Model S range and interior update imminent?

Summer 2020, according to this post: Elon Musk: Tesla is going to 'simplify' Plaid tri-motor upgrade, 'was getting too complex' - Electrek
  22. K

The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

It's very strange that Tesla didn't discover this issue during development/testing. At least during Plaid testing.. wonder if Plaid will be released with this issue too..
  23. K

    2017 P100D X and 2018 P100D S - does battery day make them obsolete?

Tesla will not launch Model S Plaid without any other updates. The plaid will get bigger battery and most likely the new battery tech. I also believe there will be a significant interior update and some exterior updates. Not sure when, but I think within 2-3 months. So, now might be a good time...
  24. K

2020.12.5 New Launch Mode and 2017 P100DL Slower Now!

So they WILL limit performance after a number of launches. I thought they promised not to do that.
  25. K

Tesla’s Flagship Vehicles Updated With Quicker 0-60 Times

I am also curious about that.. haven't received any mail yet. It could be that rev F battery is a requirement.
  26. K

Raven adaptive suspension, how does it work?

Try to drive a bit too fast over a downhill speed bump in Comfort..then you will notice. The front will touch the ground.
  27. K

    Raven Performance Boost OTA Update!

Seems like these guys have gotten some more info from Tesla Tesla Claims More Power for Model S, X, Plus Cheetah Launch Mode
  28. K

    Raven Performance Boost OTA Update!

I will check efficiency at low load.
  29. K

    Raven Performance Boost OTA Update!

Do we know the rear motor is the same? I think Raven have silicon carbide power electronics. The Longest-Range Electric Vehicle Now Goes Even Farther
  30. K

    Raven Performance Boost OTA Update!

Is diff between BATTERY_PWR and MOTOR_PWR due to loss in inverter? If that is true and we use instantaneous VAL below we get an impressive ~96% efficiency! 489.5/509.8=0.96
  31. K

    Raven Performance Boost OTA Update!

Seems like the extra power is used by the rear motor. Rear max is now ~417 kW, front still at 179 kW max.
  32. K

    Raven Performance Boost OTA Update!

    Correct. Must be in Ludicrous+.
  33. K

    Buy a Used 2016 Model S P100D or a 2020 Plaid Model S

If you have ~130-150k to use for a car, definitely wait. It will be an awesome refresh, both interior and exterior.
  34. K

    Raven Performance Boost OTA Update!

The power display is now 600 kW max. Has it always been like that?
  35. K

The shudder problem: Current status (end of February 2020)

Just put the summer tires on my 2019 Model S Performance - and the shudder is still there on hard accelleration in standard.. SC lowered my car 20 mm. They claimed it was too high. That definitely reduced the issue, but it was not fixed. Hope Tesla get a fix out soon!
  36. K

Reducera braking performance detected (by car)

Just got this warning when braking hard. 2019 Model S Performance.

    More aluminum?

Can someone check with a magnet if the Y is all aluminum under, like S/X?
  38. K

    Phantom breaking

Phantom braking happens seemingly at random, so it is very dangerous, especially when it suddenly brakes hard. I really don't get why Tesla is not fixing this..
  39. K

    Phantom breaking

Hehe.. sorry for my bad english
  40. K

    Phantom breaking

Is phantom breaking an issue in the US too? I live in Norway, and the car breaks down at random for no reason. This sometimes leads to dangerous situations. It is a common issue here. It's been like this for more than a year I think. It also happens if I drive on cruise control without autopilot.
  41. K

Do you have shudder on hard acceleration? AKA death rattle?

Mine is 715mm in low and 725mm in standard. Anyone else bother to measure?
  42. K

Do you have shudder on hard acceleration? AKA death rattle?

What is your current ride height? If I stick wooden plank in right behind the front wheel, the stack measures ~113 mm in standard. How does that compare to yours?
  43. K

Do you have shudder on hard acceleration? AKA death rattle?

Here in Norway, the SC refused to replace the half shafts on my brand new Model S Performance. Instead, they lowered the suspension by 20mm.. not so happy about that. Just masks the issue.
  44. K

50 hp software upgrade coming for Model S

Any hope this will ever be rolled out? Very quiet from Elon about this..

First Quarter Mile times on 2019.36.1

If they increase from 181 to 205 front and 360 to 380 rear, that would be 44 kW or 59 hp, not that far from what Elon tweeted.
