Planning to lower early Model S with Air - Settings?

OK, so I got my camber and toe arms installed. Here's what ive found ou 1) they don't seem to impact ride quality to a noticeable level, which is great! They MIGHT impact noise coming through to the cabin when on rough/grooved interstate highways. Not 100% sure on that, but car tire noise...

Ok, I finally am done futzing with the lowering links and have it set to where I want it. Hopefully by Tuesday I will have the Camber and Toe arms installed, big thanks to @Russell for posting the specs here and @Dannietjoh for all the advice. Here is where I came out. I went with keeping a...

Planning to lower early Model S with Air - Settings?

OK, I finally have the toe arms, camber arms and adjustable lowering links (bloxsport) in my possession and an appt at a shop next week for the install and alignment. Now I just need to set the rise height I want before going in and figure out desired alignment settings. I’m still planning to...

Hardrace Camber Arms NIB Model S/X

OK, have never heard of that. Here's a link to a better explanation of S/X typical shudder and camber related issues: Alignment Kit 1 - Acceleration Shudder & Inner Tire Wear - Tesla Model X & S
  10. P

Hardrace Camber Arms NIB Model S/X

Is this a Model X you have? I believe that shudder is actually at the front and the remedy is lowering the car. BUT after lowering, you most likely will wear out rear tires super quickly and these parts WILL help that tire wear. You might already have excessive wear - it’s a problem for me...

Brembo Brake Calipers for Model S. Work Perfectly.

Hi there, I have a set of Brembo Model S Brake Calipers for sale. Taken off my own car by me personally and worked perfectly - swapped for a set of powercoated calipers. These are a great starting point if you want to have them powder coated or even just do a nice DIY job. Much better than...

  19. P

Rear Camber arms option - Hardrace

Yeah, I feel ya - too much expense and effort for what is really just getting the alignment so it doesn't eat tires. In my case I'm going lower for looks and hopefully some performance, so it at least gets me something else. Good point on the adjusters - those do look easier. Oh ok, this...

Rear Camber arms option - Hardrace

Are you sure about that? I haven't seen anyone else have that problem. Are you puttiting the adjuster out toward the wheel or inboard near the subframe mount? Bummer, was hoping you'd get away without them. I just bought a set of hardrace toe and camber arms. What is the problem with the...

Rear Camber arms option - Hardrace

Well done Gimpster! So glad to hear of another success story. 👍 I think I'm going to jump in with both camber arms and toe arms as i plan to run the car in low mode plus lower it another .75-1". My question at this point is what my ideal alignment settings should be? I plan to do some...

Planning to lower early Model S with Air - Settings?

OK, I've ordered both camber and toe arms for my car so I can lower it. Parts will be shipping from NL and hopefully i don't get assessed a bunch of duties - we will see. I only plan to lower it .75-1 inch, but I don't want to chance any alignment problems or have to do the job twice. If it...

    3D printed lowering links

Hi there, has anyone had any failures or mechanical problems due to these? I know how the suspension works and just wondering if the 3d printed ones are failing on anyone. Thanks.
  30. P

Rear Camber arms option - Hardrace

So has anyone else put the hardrace arms on and run any miles besides gearcruncher? Ride quality?
  31. P

Planning to lower early Model S with Air - Settings?

I do like it slightly lower in the back - kinda like a classic Alfa. Unfortunately I think the boatiness is from the air suspension and no hard bushing will improve it. I have an early car and it’s ride is already more brittle than later ones, so don’t want to add to it.
  32. P

Planning to lower early Model S with Air - Settings?

I’ve decided my goal is to get the car to match the design rendering in the center display. Looks so good! Notice everything is low and pretty flush, but the front still sits a smidge higher. Must be how Franz intended it.
  33. P

Planning to lower early Model S with Air - Settings?

see this link from hardrace: Knowledge: Harden Rubber or Pillow-ball - Hardrace Europe Someone near me just had both installed - I’m hoping they can give some feedback and perhaps give me a ride.
  34. P

Rear Camber arms option - Hardrace

Thanks for the update! I’m in OC as well so might have to use that shop. How has the ride been? Notice any additional noise or harshness? Would love to get a ride sometime if you are up for meeting.

Questions about toe/camber angles after recent alignment and 2 new tires

Thanks. Yes, was considering trying something like this but not sure if it would be accurate enough. Was also considering putting screws into a large part of the trad, measuring in the front, then rolling backwards so measuring off the same “pins” if you will. Trick will be having a good...

Planning to lower early Model S with Air - Settings?

Thanks! Darn, I wish you had installed them already. I’m really worried about the harshness added since these have solid bushings. They’re more affordable, but the only ones that don’t have rubber bushings. I’m going to contact hardrace Europe in NL and see if they can order them from the...

Planning to lower early Model S with Air - Settings?

Hey @Dannietjoh - Did you have to install camber arms in the rear to avoid wearing the inside of your tires too quickly? I discovered the inside of my tires were on the cords as I have been running in low mode. Can't see you getting away with such extra lowering on the stock camber arms, but...
