Checking in at 1,401 miles and will be idle for the next week (going on vacation). Setting Charge Limit to 60%.

How many [lifetime] miles do you have?

Just sold our 2018 Legacy 2.5i Limited...great car, no problems at all. In fact, I thought that we would stay with Subarus (hoping to work my way to a WRX), but then we visited family in TX and drove his M3, and well...you know how that goes! ;)
  13. Subie2M3

How many [lifetime] miles do you have?

On one of my other ride's forum, there is a mileage thread. It is interesting to see the heavy commuters racking up miles month-over-month and others posting "milestones" (100k, 200k miles). So I thought it would be neat to start one on this forum, so please post up and post up regularly! :)...

    New rims

For my other ride, I went to Tire Rack for wheel options/fitment--recommend you check out their offerings for your ride. Looking forward to your next posting with picks of your new wheels!
  15. Subie2M3

    New rims

I get how the aero wheel covers are so-so, but you don't like the stock wheels behind the cover?
  16. Subie2M3

    New rims

If you have the stock aero wheels and tires, they are all-season rated IIRC. Are you looking for a dedicated set of winter wheels/tires? One summer I was a bum and didn't swap out my winter wheel/tire set-up on one of my cars. IIRC, the winter tire compound is not ideal for summer temps and...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I'm curious about windshield tint--what about the state inspection sticker? Do they tint up to that point or do they remove it and then apply on top of the tint?

    Debating between PPF options

I think full front includes the A-pillar too--obviously, installer will detail what is covered with your selection.
  19. Subie2M3

    Debating between PPF options

Congrats @OliverD on your M3! It truly is a personal decision--I am considering (cost TBD) front bumper, hood, lights and side view mirrors. IMHO, these are the minimum areas to consider; the rest of the body is bonus...and if you have the funds to do so. ;)

    DIY Install Home Wall Charger

Very clean install @Beerman81 . I was not comfortable to work in the panel--plus, I needed to have a sub-panel installed for next home project, so I went with electrician. Since I don't have use for an electric dryer, I asked him to remove the 30 amp breaker from that slot and drop in the 60...

Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

And to add to what dmurphy stated, there are other factors that will affect battery energy consumed (road condition, weather, and options used in car--air conditioning in hot Texas weather ;)). My wife's commute is about 45 miles one way--and mostly highway driving at 65 mph. She departs home...

Do the NEMA 14-50 Adapters ever come in stock?

I was in a similar situation as you (considering the 14-50 or 6-50 receptacle), but after reading several posts on this forum and evaluating what would be ideal, I elected to order the Wall Charger and have an electrician install a 60A breaker to maximize the charge rate for my M3 LR. I placed...

Default Amperage gen 3 wall charger

The electrician completed installing my Gen3 WC today. And as noted in the previous post, once you connect to the WC, open up a browser to access the settings. Towards the bottom is the setting (Installation) where the max output current may be selected.

Mine is 27XXXX and has matrix headlights.

    Recommended Wheel Locks?

I have searched but did not find a thread on this topic of wheel locks for M3. On the Tesla store, the wheel locks are out of stock. Has anyone added wheel locks for their ride--and if so, any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Obviously, there seems to be a bias for Ohio. LOL. Well as I was leaving, I saw another delivery of cars coming through on a transporter (for my region in PA)--hang in there. You may be pleasantly surprised like a was receiving a VIN number a full month before your EDD!
  27. Subie2M3

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Success! It was about a half day ordeal (driving to/from was about 2+ hours) and it was a busy day at Tesla Devon. We needed to wait about 30 minutes before the SA was able to review our paperwork. I was ragging on the SA about their password choice for Service Center's Wi-Fi. In...
  28. Subie2M3

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Agreed that once VIN was assigned, you need to have things in order ASAP. It is gonna be a restless night tonight--tomorrow afternoon is pick-up date!
  29. Subie2M3

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

That is what I did--once I had an appointment date set, I relayed that to my insurance to ensure that coverage begins on that date (and to ensure that the prorated insurance amount is calculated correctly).
  30. Subie2M3

Delivery pushed forward, no method to charge?

Same situation as you -- delivery date moved up a full month! So placed an order ASAP for WC--no status yet on when it'll arrive. So Plan A is to locate nearby Superchargers, Plan B is locate other EV Charging Sites, and Plan C is to minimize usage (short trips) and use the UMC for 15A charging.
  31. Subie2M3

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Checked the app this AM and bummed to see the date reset to a later time frame. 😞
  32. Subie2M3

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

A series of unfortunate circumstances--since I did not select a delivery date, the car was assigned to someone else. But the issue is that neither the Tesla app nor the text messages that we replied to requesting for a date were answered. No worries, maybe the second time is the charm? 🤔
  33. Subie2M3

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Disappointing experience thus far in attempting to schedule delivery date. Went from: 7/23 - 8/27 EDD to 6/15 - 6/19 EDD (with VIN) to 6/17 - 6/21 EDD (with no VIN) in a matter of 3 days. The scheduling feature in the app was a fail, the text messages were in spurts--some with relevant...
  34. Subie2M3

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Yes, the text replies have been selective. In other words, we inquired to whom to make the check payable to: they replied promptly. When we asked to confirm a delivery date and time (tomorrow, 6/18 @ 10am): no response to that. When we inquired about trade-in value: no response. Then we...
  35. Subie2M3

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Unfortunately, no luck calling the site directly. And on the delivery site's website, they have listed their order support email address, but I have yet to receive a reply back. The irony is that we have received the automated text message stating that if we don't select a delivery date, we...
  36. Subie2M3

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

It's been a challenge to get a hold of a scheduled delivery date since the app indicates that dates are unavailable. When calling Tesla, the estimated call back time is 2 - 3 hour window. Plus, still waiting to see what trade-in value Tesla will provide to then arrange for final payment. At...

Congrats BraxDollz! Which delivery center did you pick up your car?
  38. Subie2M3

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Must be a busy day for Tesla delivery--received an email from Tesla at 7:30 PM today stating that it is ready for delivery. When checking the app, the EDD window moved from 7/23 - 8/27 to today (6/15) to 6/19?!? Not sure if this is an error because when clicking the link to schedule an...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

Now this week's EDD is mid-July to early-September. In any case, I've been researching about setting up L2 charging options. I'm trying to tease out which approach is ideal: 1. NEMA receptacle paired with appropriate adapter and UMC 2. Tesla wall charger 3. Third-party wall charger Since...

    Xpel ultimate plus quote

Forgive my ignorance, I didn't realize that if you have PPF, you could clay or wax on top of it. I thought that the PPF application protected the paint and so a regular wash was sufficient. 😕
  41. Subie2M3

M3P BLACK! XPEL PPF (ULTIMATE) GLOSS OR (STEALTH) SATIN

I just started my search on this, so no real advice to offer. I am patiently waiting for mid-June to mid-July delivery. However, would love to see before and after pics of your ride!! :) So you'll have it ceramic coated first and then have them apply PPF?
  42. Subie2M3

    Xpel ultimate plus quote

How long did your installer quote you for this large job--2 to 3 days?
  43. Subie2M3

    Xpel ultimate plus quote

Sure, I figured routine washes and no need for waxing. But was not aware of a sealant. Do you recommend any specific sealant product?
  44. Subie2M3

    Xpel ultimate plus quote

I certainly believe it; when I visited my cousin in Houston, his M3 looked pristine (and he has PPF installed on front).
  45. Subie2M3

    Xpel ultimate plus quote

Since there will be a lot of highway driving on this car, I def want some level of protection to minimize paint chipping. Some of my other cars have not "aged well" due to this fact. Didn't think about A pillars or the rear rocker panels, so will see what the installer says.
  46. Subie2M3

    Xpel ultimate plus quote

The general starting point for full front PPF that I've seen are $1995...once I have confirmed date for my delivery, I'll ask for specific pricing from my installer.
  47. Subie2M3

    Xpel ultimate plus quote

Thanks for sharing this info. I am also looking for PPF (only front half) and a nearby installer referenced this brand. And the installer also mentioned that XPEL also carries window tints too. From what I understand, the the PPF will do a better job at protecting against rock chips compared...

Sorry to hear this--that is so messed up.
