What features do you wish the Model Y came with (Dec 2022/Jan 2023) Wishlist

charging settings: charge my car whenever plugged in and in my low cost hours which I specified. Stop charging when my high cost hours start. Period!

Model Y - Initial Impressions - Delights, surprises, disappointments and concerns

It’s supposed to be convenient! I also have trouble finding the door handle in the dark. Sometimes I’m carrying something , or for whatever reason, it’s hard to unlatch the door. Never had this issue with my 2006 Prius.

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

good reminder! I've used voice commands a bit. it's not my natural inclination. and i don't like that its responses are only in print, which is hard to read while driving. But for a few things like this, yes, it sounds great.

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

thanks so very much! I tried it before I saw your reply and figured out that yes, "set fan speed to 7" works, which will be a lifesaver for me. I tried "Fan speed 7" and it didn't understand it, but I can learn its syntax.

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

I will try this. Thanks. I hope it works to just change the fan speed.

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

People's temperature comfort varies a lot. My typical case is: temperature of about 55 º F, sun glaring in thru windshield making me hot, but the general temperature inside the car is OK. I just want a blast of air for a few minutes, on my face. If I turn the temperature down to invoke this, I...

    Unblocking Car Doors

I have issue with locking. Best case: before I get out of my seat, I open my door slightly, then push the padlock icon. When I exit the car and close my door (must be after my passenger closes his door), the car locks instantly. But, if I forget to do this, and I'm already standing up outside...

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

Hello, I don't understand the above quote. And, I realize that my problem (one of them) with the climate control is that to just increase the fan speed, I need to push 3 buttons. 1. bring up the A/C menu. 2. turn off Auto. 3. increase the fan speed. In an older car, I would just increase the...

    Parking sensors. Please help

BINGO! and plenty of people have always had trouble parking. How about less judgment: just because some of you/us are great parkers, doesn’t mean everyone is like you (thanks for that, considering the arrogance and impatience)

Using mobile phone to enter to Tesla Y becoming frustrating

Or same for me. When it doesn’t work, I usually just move around a bit, pull my phone out of my pocket and then it works.

Forward collision warning or parking assist gone?

Mine broke a few months ago right when they began rollout cars without USS. coincidence. They fixed my rear hardware on a service call. Front was also not working at times but that fixed itself magically.
  12. sfRonH

    Parking assist

Often, backing in would make access to my rear door near impossible, not good when grocery shopping.
  13. sfRonH

    Parking assist

    I turned off the beeps.

What’s a parcel shelf? Picture anyone?
  16. sfRonH

Auto = Awful, a Climate Complant

I’m glad (for real) that it pleases you and likely others. I will continue to go to manual mode because I often want more air even if I am at my desired temperature.

Need Help/Advice - First 38 Days With MYLR - Terrible Experience

I would venture to say it’s because the product has problems. When I bought my Prius new, the boards didn’t reveal so many problems. A happy experience for most people is of little value to the too-high number of people that encounter problems.

    Window malfunction

I have no idea, but thanks for the suggestion. I will ask the service people.

    Auto climate fan over-ride

oops, I was mistaken about what I said above.

HVAC Auto mode- who came up with that garbage?

I agree that just about everything with the climate control is terrible. My issues: the main AUTO button turns blue when on. But the auto button for seat heaters and steering wheel heating is 2 different shades of gray, no blue. How am I to remember which is Auto and which is manual? Why 2...

    Auto climate fan over-ride

Wow, my experiences are quite different, as is how I think about this. I see fan speed and temperature as 2 different things. The A/C system can be more hot or more cold, regardless of the fan speed. This is how every prior car I ever had worked, as well. Before the recent software upgrade, on...

    Window malfunction

My windows have been a nuisance since I got the car. On 2 different service visits they say they recalibrated the windows, but meanwhile the front passenger window, when open, does at times fail to close. One scenario: hold the button, the window begins closing, then when we release the button...

Elon now under (yet another) investigation by SEC over false self driving claims

Hello, It doesn't take humans 16 years to learn how to drive a car. It takes humans 16 years to mature enough to make driving decisions. You're implying that if you began teaching a 30-year-old how to drive, the 30-year-old wouldn't know how to drive until the age of 46. Also, the CEO of a...

I brought mine in and they replaced the rear sensor. If you used to have it, You should still have it.

2023 Model 3 without USS and proximity functionality [park assist / summon not available]

The sevice center actually said the remote diagnosis found a short in the rear parking sensor. The my replaced it, under warranty.

2023 Model 3 without USS and proximity functionality [park assist / summon not available]

Thanks. I see they say that my car, based on production date, should have USS but not radar. I washed my car today. We’ll see if it behaves better tomorrow.

Autopilot not available post 2022.40.4.1 Installed

With this same software version update, my Model Y lost its ability to tell me how close I am to parked cars or the front of my garage. I get a repeated message that Parking Assist is not available.
  29. sfRonH

Autopilot not available post 2022.40.4.1 Installed

I've had this symptom always since I got the car in May. Drivers window, which I of course use most. Recently with passenger window, too. Had a service visit. The Tech person said he re-calibrated in a way only he could do, but it did not fix anything.

2023 Model 3 without USS and proximity functionality [park assist / summon not available]

I installed 2022.40.4.1 a few days ago and I guess this turned off the use of my ?ultra sonic sensors" AND my cameras for Park Assist. To be clear, what's missing: the screen used to show me when I was 36 inches or less from something like a car or a wall. Now, it will often just say "Stop" even...

Parking assist unavailable after latest update

I have the same problem since my last software update on my Model Y, version 2022.40.4.1

    Climate (lack of) control

I find the climate control quite annoying. I can be hot when first entering the car that has been in the sun, but to get some cool air in my face I have to either turn the Auto temp to about 65 º F (chilly), or what I've found works better, is to just increase the fan setting to about 6. That...

Cold Feet? [issues with climate system]

It does seem to me, with 6 months of ownership of my Y, that each software update is one or two steps back with an average of half a step forward.
  34. sfRonH

    Hot Seat!

thank you for the idea of disconnecting. that would be a good test. I have checked the display and have a handle on what the little indicators mean (despite "auto" coloration being the opposite meaning as used for same coloration of the Tab for front seats or rear seats). I feel the heat in my...

Cold Feet? [issues with climate system]

I agree. I seem to use the manual mode a lot more than in my prior car (Prius). My biggest change is to increase the fan level as it often is too low.

    Autolock at home

Thanks. It’s been fine lately. It WAS the case for me that the box became unchecked, but it was not I who did it. Car did it. I’m the only driver.

Looks like they are removing stalks from the 3/Y

I love this thread because I’m hearing how so many other people dislike the overuse of the screen. In other threads folks talked to me like I had 3 heads.
  42. sfRonH

    Autolock at home

Well what do you know, over 2 1/2 years later, and ever since I got my car in May it had the checkbox "Exclude Home", and it worked for me, until yesterday. They apparently broke the functionality with my last software update. I took a picture to prove it wasn't I who had unchecked the box in error.

Second thoughts about MY. Should I get M3 instead?

? Lack of a long range Y? I'm in the US in San Francisco and got a long rage Y (325 miles).

Model Y review from an mechanical and software engineer's standpoint.

I'm with you about too much dependance on the touch screen when more physical buttons would be better. Yes, it's very hard to touch in an exact small spot on a large screen while driving a moving car.

    28.2. Wipers Gone Wild!

My wipers went crazy the other day. It didn't cross my mind that it could be related to Cruise Control or Auto-Steer. I was on the freeway and probably using at least one of those features. Yes, I recall touching the right stalk, the wipers coming on, and swearing to my boyfriend that I didn't...

What is this thing that looks like a huge key?

I might read the manual over a period of time. I can’t imagine skimming through to find a needle in a haystack. You could easily skip a response or answer just what you know. Of course I thought to look at the manual. It’s not easy to find things such as this. There are plenty of helpful people...

    Hot Seat!

The seat in my Model Y almost always feels too hot! It's not a sun issue or a car temperature issue. It even happens when I'm driving home at night in a nice cool car. And I do not accidentally have the seat heater on. I checked many many times. Does anyone else have this issue? Seems a...

Site to give feedback to Tesla?

Does anyone know of a site to provide Tesla with feedback, ideas, perceived problems? I read about using the Voice Commands such as "Feedback" but that doesn't seem to lend itself to detail. Here's what I read, "Say "Report", "Feedback", or "Bug report" followed by brief comments. Model 3 takes...
