Yeah, I had to do that so many times. Now I'll go to Knoxville. Still 2.5 hours away like Charlotte but at least they're not overwhelmed and are helpful.
Asheville Service Center plans just fell through so now I get to wait even longer!
and so far no movement still. In the permit meeting notes from several months ago, they stated they may want the property next door (321 Sweeten Creek). That property was put on the market for $4.3 million right after Tesla closed on the purchase of the 291 property. My guess is they're trying...
Moderator note: Merged from another thread.
8 stalls opened in Asheville at the far end of the parking lot near Whole Foods last summer, but in September a permit application was filed, and on October 26 approved, for 8 more stalls at the Whole Foods end of the parking lot. This might be the...
Looking for CrossClimate2 for my Y (love them on my 3), and the size I want (245/55 R18) is only available in 103V SL, not XL. 103V is pretty high and seems to cover the Model Y load, but a lot of places say to only replace with XL, which aren't available in this size. Is XL going to make a...
Sylva is only 20 miles further from Atlanta than Franklin, but depending on destination, either one would be more or less convenient for people. Sylva is closer to Cherokee, which is a popular stop, and more direct to anyone coming from east to Tail of the Dragon. Murphy would be better for...
CCS is a good last resort, but I hate how they choose locations. They put Franklin at town hall... who wants to park at town hall? You can walk a little to find food or coffee, so it's not the worst place to have to sit, but see this happen a lot. Also it's 150 kW and only two CCS stalls, two...
That's my video... original discussions happened back in early spring, but they just closed on the property a few weeks ago. A service tech told me the plan was by end of year, so could be early next year. They haven't bought the property next door but hopefully they can work that out because...
They definitely have been trying to hide their permits. The new Asheville service center permits have the name Tesla nowhere in them. It's listed as "Car Dealership"
Our Biltmore Park superchargers weren't found early because the permit was listed as electric vehicle charging with Tesla's name...
I recommend Knoxville. Charlotte is very overwhelmed (they service over half of NC plus most of SC) and their customer service is very lacking in the past couple years. I just went to Knoxville a few weeks ago and it was night and day.
I was trying to help a friend (neither of mine have the speaker). We put a custom sound mp3 (5 seconds long) onto the drive.
We were able to select it fine, but has an issue. In drive or summon, it plays fine through the external speaker, but as horn replacement, it only plays INSIDE the car...
I want to clarify that this issue isn't directly a Sentry issue. It's a "car going to sleep when it shouldn't" issue. Sentry not working is a byproduct of that. It has nothing to do with the USB drives or ports or cameras.
Sentry, Summon Standby and Cabin overheat protection are all enabled...
Well, after a month of working absolutely perfectly after getting FSD upgrade, Sentry stopped working again last week. Just got 2020.12.6 last night and still isn't working today. The SD card that was in the car is dead. Can't reformat it on my Mac now. Tried three other working SD cards/thumb...
On my wife's LR RWD Model 3, we've not had Sentry working properly for quite some time. At first, I assumed it was the USB drives I used. I switched to a USB card reader. It worked for a short time and then ended up also not activating all of the time. Sometimes it would have small 595 byte...
They’re definitely not using it for speed limits. I have an area that’s always had incorrect speed limit in one direction that I looked at on OSM last year. OSM had it correct then and now. Google has it correct. I have no idea where it’s getting the incorrect number from but it’s frustrating...
Anyone actually see a difference after making changes? I updated an incorrect parking lot that said the entrance aisle was a public road two days ago and tonight summon still stopped halfway coming to me and said it couldn’t be used on public roads.
The moral of this story is:
Pay complete attention while on autopilot!
Imagine if workers had been present and the inattentiveness just mowed about 10 people down
When this video (and the side view video) were posted on a few different Facebook groups, the poster said it was video of his father in law, who had fallen asleep after a long trip (all of the posts of it have since been taken down).
It doesn't matter how autopilot works, it's not meant to...
Did a test run yesterday. This is in a P3 from Asheville to Cherokee, 2.5 hours on the Parkway.
The drive back was just an hour/50 miles. Easy in even an older 60 kWh Tesla.
except if it's a high margin specialty vehicle, then it would be a small profit center to help them build a regular truck that he said they may build later. Personally, I'm excited for the pickup, and I'm not a truck person. I will buy it if it's insanely futuristic. If not, I'll pass.
and Elon said this would NOT be a mass market vehicle, that people might not like it, and that they may make a normal pickup later, so those numbers actually make it seem like this could be the market for the Tesla pickup
Here's the version of that design overlaid on a Blade Runner scene
Elon said it could seat 6 people, so the cab must be big. No reason for a hood without an engine. It simply can't be the rear, because one, the light is white instead of red, and two, the badge is on top instead of where a...
they used to have tight lips at Apple... no one saw the iPhone coming... or the iPad. I think they just don't care as much now on those, except whatever their self driving stuff is.
Thanks for posting. I decided to do this event thinking MAYBE 20 cars total would show up between our group (WNC) and the others, but so far, just since Sunday, we've got 38 Teslas registered! Now I'm really excited!
234 lifetime average. Only time I've had the aero covers on was when I took two 1800+ mile road trips. Average on those trips was about the same as my lifetime average.
But, since I got back from my last trip, my average, with no aero covers, is 216! I do mostly around town and up to 60 mph on...
They don't have separate P and ludicrous models on the rest of the lineup so I highly doubt they would here, and also, the P100D instantly adds $33k over the 100D with same options, so I'd expect something closer to that over the AWD LR 3 (which itself will probably be $54k).
I'd not set my...
Just the RWD that's out now can hit 60 in 4.6-4.7 on a good day... adding AWD should shave 0.2 seconds off that. I'm sure P will push it into low to mid 3s.
Cost? I'm guessing that like the S, it adds $30k to the AWD version (which should be $54k: $49k + $5k for AWD), so $84k for the P
The fact that it's been at the SC for over a week (it comes home tomorrow).
Seriously though, after driving a Model S P85D for the past week, other than the quick acceleration, I will definitely miss the power liftback. The Model 3 trunk is so stiff. I hate slamming the trunk the way I have to...
Very true... I've done a few test drives, including in a P85D the first time I drove a Tesla in early 2016 (well before the Model 3 unveiling). Driving for a week is much different. I got to use it in my daily/weekly routines. It's great for hauling things, it's absolutely amazing at...
I got a Model S P85D (not upgraded to Ludicrous, but still quick). I like my Model 3 more though. I live in the mountains, so we have few places that you can (legally) go 0-60 in a straight line. Model 3 is more fun on the curves.
All I know from the tech is that you have to remove the front...
SC was able to get the frunk open with the manual release (which is up behind the bumper somewhere?). Once it was open, it resumed working normally with the screen without issue. They said I could have the car back today, or if I wanted to just go ahead and replace the latch just in case, I...
These are definitely weird mobile. Better than the Bolt but they’re still doing that whole “make it futuristic but then make the final product blah” that automakers have done for years.
Also, I’ll believe the “$8000 less than Model 3” when I see it. They must have some amazing battery supplier...
I just noticed that if I lock the car from the app I can hear the latch close back and the app shows that it’s closed. Listening closely when I tap unlock I can hear the latch open. The hood doesn’t move at all though, not even a millimeter.
yeah, luckily the laptop is my backup/mobile work computer, but still, I do need it out of there ASAP!
and yes, some raw meat sitting in the frunk, in the sun, for a couple days would be absolutely awful!
