Beta means 6 years. It means people purchased FSD 6 years ago and people are still saying "what does "beta" mean?" As if everyone has expectations way beyond what a beta that has "only" been in development for 6 years.
For the fender and rear cameras sure.. for the windshield and pillar cameras that is not the case. As a matter of fact the pillar cameras are not sealed.

Primarily cleaning the inside of the windshield glass and the inside of the pillar glass for the side cameras, basically the ones that are blinded all the time, possibly from the haze. Cleaning the outside of the lens would be nice as well. Do you ever clean the outside of the lens on your...
I would like to see easily removable camera housings so you can clean the inside of the glass and the camera. After over 3 years my 2018 Model 3 looks fairly hazy especially on the front camera. Maybe Tesla will over an out of warranty camera cleaning service for $2,500.
Seems like the false head on collision alerts on the road I live on have been fixed and now seems to realize being in the right-hand lane to turn right is a good idea.
I wish Tesla would update the maps because one of the main roads I drive is newer and not on the map. This road has been open...
I have never been to California and would like to spend either one or two weeks there in the future after virus issues subside. Any suggestions or any info on decent web sites or otherwise that deal with this topic. My guess is half the users on this forum live in California so I figured I...
Could these help in situations like this?
Thermal cameras like FLIR
Remove the IR filters from the cameras or at least have an IR camera up front
Radar - probably higher resolution and the NN actually has to use it
Much better camera, like the Sony Starlight cameras - I use those for security...
I see a lot of people and Tesla stating this is temporary. How long is temporary in Tesla speak? Is it longer than "two weeks"? I wonder if the fix will end up being HW4 and higher resolution cameras.
Original tires from my car. I took them off and replaced with PS4S summer tires and have a second set of winter tires so no need for these.
Tread wear is not that bad, The foam is intact, some light is shining in on that first tire. Made 23rd week of 2018. They sat in my garage.
Asking $200.
I've had FSD beta 10.5 completely fail out due to rain, not just run in a degraded state. I think radar would help.
Radar can see more than one car deep in front of you while vision cannot. Perhaps FSD would not try to go around a string of stopped cars if it could see at least one car in...
Although I don't do this any longer be sure to buy a good plug. For instance at Home Depot you can purchase a Leviton or HUBBELL 14-30R. I tried the Leviton first but it wore out fast and started getting warm so I swapped it for the almost 2x more expensive HUBBELL and the plug was pretty much...
Drove around 160 miles on a 60 MPH 4 lane divided highway that is not limited access so FSD 10.5 was in effect the whole way. Since I forgot my mobile charger which I recalled about 10 miles into the trip and it was cold and raining I drove the speed limit the entire way down but the car always...
If that info is true 11 times more fires which I assume need water to put out, just not as much on a per car basis. This offsets the electric car fires needing more water a bit.
I am seeing very buggy turning lane issues like what Dirty Tesla was showing in this video.
I think there is something wrong with 10.4 in general. On many occasions it has failed to go into the proper turn lane or constantly insisting on going into a turn lane when I need to go straight...
How about we implement Tesla Safety scoring for all brand vehicles and anyone who doesn't maintain an average of 85 lose their drivers license. Almost 40,000 people lost their lives in 2020 to car accidents, how many of those were from FSD, a handful? A person that is a poor driver with FSD...
If "a mainstream gas-powered car" was worded "a gas-powered car" I would have been fine. War on EV subversive phrasing adds up and influences people. Nearly 80% of car sales in Norway are not a mainstream gas-powered car these days.
Looks like the front right wheel assembly was destroyed and the battery pack has a massive amount of damage, unless the firefighters did that. The car was resting on the drivers side.
I would not be nervous. The two main points of the thread were 1) my wife 2) did not care for the Fox News comments on the problems of not having a "mainstream gas-powered car" I still would rather she replace her Infiniti G37x with a Model Y instead of a Toyota or an Infiniti SUV. Luckily...
Did you listen to the witness on the 911 call, the recycling guy? It sounded like it was an instant fireball. Personally I assume they were driving 75 or 100 MPH in a 25. If that's what happened then any concerns will be ignored by her, I think.
I did show my wife the safety ratings as soon...
Unknown. A fatality on a 25 MPH road is weird to begin with.
I agree with what you are saying I just wish it did not happen around here. I assume the truth will come out.

This happened about 3 miles from where I live. They hit a landscaping bolder then two trees and it caught on fire and was rolled over. Since the speed limit is 25 MPH I don't understand how...
I think everyone that purchases FSD deserves to have it carried forward to one additional new Tesla for free after it is no longer beta. And before it is completed it should be transferred to an unlimited number of new Tesla autos, only one active FSD though. This would mean private selling a...
I implemented my fix. I moved into a house that has 200 amp service to the house and 120 amp to the attached garage. Installed a wall connector on a 60 amp breaker and a NEMA 14-50 on a 50 amp breaker for people that visit who do not have a Tesla yet need a charge.
I had a contractor doing...
If this were a concern I am sure some government or insurance oversight body in the entire world would test for it.
You realize the entire roof is much stronger than just one corner top side which was tested by the IIHS? For which Tesla received the same rating as Volvo. An explosive load...
Peak force was over 20,000 lbs. This video was from 2019 and it amazes me how people post the comments they do without even using minimal effort to look up the facts that are all over the internet.
Here is a roof crushing test video. Enjoy.

I am under the impression this will be used by Tesla insurance in the future or possibly is used now. Sure, not getting into a beta is one thing but I assume this score is sticking around with us folks forever. If this data only exists for this beta and is gone later then it's not a very big...
Each person receives a score based on a statistical model, yes you are correct.
However a safety score is based on user data and the statistical model.
An individual's safety score is garbage if there are a lot of mistakes with the head on collision portion. The rest of the inputs are solid but...
If it is based on reality sure. When I drive down the road the correct direction on my street cars often set off the collision alarm. I got my score up from a 3 to an 86 the first day. The next three days I got a 100 each day. Basically I have to drive out of my way when I go anywhere. My...
So if I was on autopilot the entire time I would have been fine.
I will stay off my shorter route from my house until the 7 days are up then deal with the numerous head on collision issues with this road.
Off topic from the post above but keeping everything in one post:
The past two days I...
So if driving down the road around 65 MPH, in a 60 MPH area, and you see a yellow light if you slow to 0 any quicker than 10 seconds you trigger this. Insane!
I am pretty sure autopilot was more aggressive than this and it did not register on my trip today. I'll try it again tomorrow and see...
It does not seem to count when autopilot does hard braking. Does anyone disagree or know? There was one case I know for a fact it hit the brakes very hard and was not counted on my "perfect" run.
Got my score up to 86, much better than 3.
edit: Had it up to 88 but had to stop at a red light on a 60 MPH road and got nailed with the hard braking?? , probably should have just played it safe and ran the red light. Tesla is already making me a safer driver.
So you can get hard braking points with regen?
I’ve been driving for almost 40 years and never caused an accident.
All the false head on collisions are going to keep my score horribly bad.
All three were in about the same 1/8 mile stretch that went off with each passing oncoming car. Was on autopilot the entire time. There are sealed cracks in the road. I’ll see what happens when I go back home in a bit. That drive was less than two hours ago and part of the trip was on two...
I just had THREE! while in autopilot. It’s a specific back road with a double yellow line. Nothing was off, wrong or confusing in the least. It triggered with each passing car. I’m going to set a camera up and drive that road and open a support call with Tesla. Cannot wait to see the FSD...
Waiting on my home theater seating stuck off the coast of California and FSD button. Are both stuck off the coast of California?

I have never had two first world problems at once and I'm having trouble coping. /s
2 on 1 off on the same road. And the road is nothing special. Collision warning not the big red steering wheel of death warning. 1 happened while I was trying to engage AP so count that as on or off as you wish.
To be more specific the AP ones happened in the 2021.12 series, including the...
Picked up my model 3 in Sep 2018 and for some reason I've been having false collision warnings, about 4 of them, over the past two months. Never had that happen before.
