    Considering 2017 Model X Ludicrous

That's exactly what I just did. Traded my '16 X for a used '17 X with Ludicrous with the intention of staying under warranty until the Cybertruck is released. I think so long as you go with an August or later build date in 2017 you should be fine since it'll have the AP3 hardware.

    MX Spoiler wing corrosion

I had the same issue on my 2016 X. Service acknowledged the issue but made no effort to resolve it. I've since traded it in for a 2017 so I guess we'll see if it happens again. Sure hope not.

    Dog owners be careful!

I think I'm just going to cover it with a blanket when he gets in from now on. It's crazy, he comes with me to the office almost every day and this is the first time this has happened. So, just something to watch out for. Good news is that no bones are broken, he broke part of a nail and was...

    Dog owners be careful!

Watch the trunk latch if your dog is jumping in and out of your vehicle. My dobie just caught his front paw in the drop-down portion and may have broken it (his paw). I’m trying to think of a way to cover the latch to mitigate this danger....

    Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06

Unfortunately, they sent my vehicle back before I could tell them to do it. But, I spoke with the SC and they actually recommended I buy them from Tire Rack due to both the price and the warranty. They also referred me to a Ferrari dealership near me that is authorized to perform alignments...

    Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06

So I seemed to have made it farther than most on my Contis. 4/32 left at 46k, not bad for Michigan roads. Now, my vehicle is down at the SC and they want $1600 to put new shoes on and I can get them for $1200. Problem is, where do I get an alignment if I don't have the SC do the swap? Kind...

    Trunk side rails

Thanks, I had figured there would be some sort of cover released but I guess not. I have the captains chairs in the 2nd row and it’d be nice to have the extra storage space.

    Trunk side rails

I guess everyone else is as confused as I am....

    Aftermarket glossy seatback

If you have matte, I’ll trade you mine.

    Trunk side rails

Can anyone tell me what the side rails in the trunk are used for? There are what look like two spring-loaded latch points on each side, and I’ve never been able to figure it out.

    0 to 60 uncork

The Service Center called me yesterday and asked if I wanted it done while it was down there. I had no idea it was even available, but my response was “hell yes!”. Can’t wait to get it back! Took delivery in October of last year, btw.

AP1 just says "minor fixes and improvements".

Does AP following distance vary based upon car color

Does anyone else notice that both in AP and ACC, the car follows white cars more closely and brakes later? I imagine this is due to the system not recognizing the proper distance due to a lack of contrast?

    FW doors rubbing through paint

I already tried to get them to fix it. After sending it back three times they finally just threw their hands up, said they did all they could, and offered me the touch-up.

    FW doors rubbing through paint

I have the same issue and I find it unacceptable for a vehicle at this price point. They were supposed to send me some touch-up paint but never did.

    First Model X with 8.0

It's more of a matter of having your hands on the wheel but still getting the nag, forcing you to tug the wheel to confirm. After going through all the other updates, I may be able to live with it, but it's pretty annoying, regardless.

    First Model X with 8.0

Media player is a HUGE improvement. Search-ability rocks and overall navigation through media is soooo much better. I don't use USB, maybe someone else can give their feedback on that.

    First Model X with 8.0

This "Hold Steering Wheel" nag might have me regretting the update. Seems I'm having to give the wheel a tug every 30-45 seconds, even when holding it.

All done; 1 hr and 21 minutes in total. The new UI is so nice. Now to go for a drive!

    First Model X with 8.0

After 4 minutes, it says "Update completed, checking status". There's a "close" button but the screen is completely locked up. Weird. I'll wait and check it again in a bit....

Falcon Wing Doors Quality Poll (Everyone answer please!)

Mine does the same, a loud squeaking from what seems to be the rearmost shock. I also found, at the worst possible time, that the door leaks right into the cabin when open. Ranger is coming next week to take a look.

    Model X September Deliveries

Wow. I don't think I'd accept delivery of anything over 20. 50 is a lot, 74 is ridiculous, IMO.

    Model X September Deliveries

As I await delivery of my MX on Wednesday, I noticed that my Purchase Agreement says that the car has 50 miles on the odometer. Has anyone else seen this high of mileage on their deliveries? Many vehicles inventoried as "used" have around 50 miles, so I'm not sure I'm cool with this. Update...

    Model X September Deliveries

Vehicle was delivered to Cleveland yesterday, scheduled to be delivered to me on Wednesday! Super-stoked!

    Changing delivery location?

No, I'm just going to have it delivered and save the hassle.

    Model X September Deliveries

DS just emailed with a delivery date of Sept 12-18th! Looks they're really ramping up!

    Model X September Deliveries

    Changing delivery location?

Gotcha, good points, thanks! (I meant Cleveland, not Cincinnatti, btw.). I just found out it's out of production so I'm hoping it arrives earlier than anticipated!

    Model X September Deliveries

Just received an email today that my MX is out of production and in the delivery queue! I was supposed to take delivery the last weekend of September but I would think that it's not going to take that long for it to get to Cleveland! Man this is exciting!

    Changing delivery location?

Has anyone had any experience changing the delivery location on your order? More specifically, I'm wondering if it will cause any delays in the scheduled delivery? I'm supposed to pick up in Cincinnati but have a wedding in Chicago the weekend that my MX is supposed to be delivered. So, it...

    Model X September Deliveries

It's been said earlier in this thread, but if you look at the VIN compared with delivery dates, they're all over the place, no rhyme or reason whatsoever. Best way to estimate is to compare timing between others' order confirmation and delivery dates.
  34. choosetoshrug

    Model X September Deliveries

Tesla (unlike the majority of automotive companies) doesn't sequence their manufacturing process, so the VIN can't be relied upon for any accurate tracking.

Carpet mats for my Model X

I wonder how long it will take WeatherTech to make a set. I can't see paying $1000 for cloth mats, at least not with Michigan winters!

Manufacturing Oppy- 2nd Row Under Seat Storage...

I don't know what the carpeting is like (don't have my X yet), but if it has enough "loop" to it, a Velcro-based system might work similar to what VW uses in their cargo system. Basically, they're plastic angles about 5" tall with industrial strength Velcro on the bottom. Easy to configure and...

    Model X September Deliveries

I just received an email stating that my 70D will be in production next week for delivery the last weekend of September. Order was confirmed on July 7th.
  38. choosetoshrug

    Model X September Deliveries

That's how the sequencing centers work in the Big Three assembly plants, all parts are coded to a particular VIN. It's not only efficient but also allows for more traceability of quality issues. Shipping isn't as much as a concern for them as it might be for Tesla, since they're building cars...

    Model X September Deliveries

If this is the case, then wouldn't VIN numbers be useless for tracking orders? I'm not sure how they don't sequence in order (that's how the big 3 do it), seems horribly inefficient from a production standpoint.
  40. choosetoshrug

    Model X September Deliveries

Order confirmed 7/8, 75D, VIN 141XX. Hasn't started production yet. Seems like their sequencing is off.....
