Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

I would be very surprised if they didn't raise the price in connection with the refresh.

Supercharger - Portland, OR - Southwest Broadway

I know that Ringside in the Fox Tower used to, but it's since been closed (sadly). Find out and let us know :)

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

In that context, yes I agree with you. But from the pure product experience standpoint, it’s hard to make the case that LFP is better. Most people aren’t considering geopolitical chess when deciding which car to get. They just want one that looks good and provides for a good user experience .

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

Why not? The rear casting isn’t “the back half” of the car. The Model 3 equivalent of that area is nearly identical in overall shape. Front casting would be a non-starter, though.

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

Better idea is to just redesign the Model 3 BIW so that it can use the Model Y rear casting. They are almost identical cars underneath.

Could also be 4680, which are between current 2170s and LFP in terms of energy density. I don't think it's likely, but possible.

Pic of your Model 3.......RIGHT NOW! [model 3 pictures thread]

Tesla really nailed it with this wheel design. Works so well.
  8. pdx_m3s

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

LFP is a good example of how good Tesla and Elon are at marketing. Nickel is better on nearly every metric that interfaces with the user experience and results in a lighter, better performing vehicle, and yet they have convinced many LFP is superior.

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

Thanks but I’ll keep my nickel-based battery. The 100% daily charge gimmick is of no benefit to most.

I was about to reply with the same thing but you beat me to it 😆

    Oregon Superchargers (location speculation, discussion)

Just noticed there's 13 superchargers currently under construction the PNW (including McDermitt). Great progress from the Tesla Charging team. Hoping they do Sisters next :)

Agree it was too close for comfort! Luckily the wheels are still rash-free.

Better yet, get the MPP big rotor kit.

The white cabinets are the "Power Cabinets," which Tesla provides. The transformer is provided by the utility and is generally a big green box.

    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

These wheels look great. Not too flashy. Nicely done.

    No. Yes.

Sorry for your loss, but 103, that’s amazing. She’s part of an incredibly small club having lived that long.

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

no issues even with 275/35. Link below from a month or so ago in this thread. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/threads/aftermarket-wheels-on-model-3.108607/page-297#post-7492658

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Don't get me wrong, they are cool wheels. I guess I'm just a sucker for some good concave.

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

As cool as the BBS wheels were, these just look at home on Model 3. Dig it.

A hard lesson learned about tires

We have had AAA for over a decade. I’d never trust the Tesla service.

More pics of the whole vehicle!

HW3.0 upgrade for basic AP owners now free?

I've tried this with no luck. My 2019 SR+ was built in May and came with HW2.5. I think I'll just skip over HW3 entirely and get HW4 with my next car in a couple years.

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

For some reason I think this is actually pretty cool.
  31. pdx_m3s

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Can’t recommend that. Will look awful.
  32. pdx_m3s

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

The “new” RWD Model 3 is slower, heavier, less nimbler, and worse charging than the one it replaced. Degradation isn’t really a concern of mine. That’s just a matter of expectations.
  33. pdx_m3s

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

I may have misunderstood your question. If you want to go from stock 235/18 to 275/20, then yes it’s totally doable.
  34. pdx_m3s

    Aftermarket Wheels on Model 3

Not a fan of the tricycle look. Square is preferred and works best with Model 3 dynamics.
  35. pdx_m3s

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

Disagree with the statement that LFP is better than the older nickel pack. It's worse in every metric. The "I can charge to 100% daily!" thing doesn't really seem like much of a feature to me, as it's not how people actually use their vehicles.
  36. pdx_m3s

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

They look more like the refresh Model X wheels.
  37. pdx_m3s

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

I think it looks good. A bit more minimalist. I’m all for it.

    Love the wheels.

This is the right way to do it.
  41. pdx_m3s

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

Model 3 was priced $37-38k from mid-2020 to Q1-2021, and that was with a more expensive nickel pack. There is still room for it to drop more this year if supply/demand justify it.
  42. pdx_m3s

    Lifted Model Y Owners: Report!

They're basically identical. For me, I'd go with MPP because Sasha is awesome and MPP is such a gem for the Tesla community. Nothing against TSS, but as a former hardcore tuner/enthusiast type, I appreciate MPP's DNA.
  43. pdx_m3s

Oregon - Clean Vehicle Rebate Program 2023

Exactly. The process starts with Tesla applying.
  44. pdx_m3s

Oregon - Clean Vehicle Rebate Program 2023

Hopefully Tesla has submitted the right paperwork for it to be added. However, the rebate plan becomes suspended May 1st.
