    Superchargers in Australia

It's definitely a funded site so likely will happen in the next 12-18 months just nothing yet to suggest that the machinery is linked to Supercharger construction. Need to see some Tesla boxes or wiring to multiple mount points for that.

    Superchargers in Australia

For anyone who drives by Alexandria a lot, noticed some construction work in the Alexandria Home-maker Centre carpark NE corner (near the Merc dealership). Nothing obvious that it was Superchargers but worth keeping an eye on.

    Cybertruck Waiting Room - Australia

Ignoring any compliance issues, with the level of demand in the US, I just can't see any exports, let alone RHD CTs, for many years. The CT orders were also different to the S/X in that they didn't have a price attached. Suspect it was also a financially prudent decision for Tesla to cancel...

    Supercharger - Bulls

And Rotorua, New Plymouth and Paraparaumu (all listed as Q3 2023). As well as Auckland North (listed as 2023) reappearing.

Melbourne to Darwin road trip, how feasible

And if you want to do it you are best joining TOCA (Tesla Owners Club of Australia) who have a loan scheme for some of the charging tails and equipment you might need. Note that by feasible, you need to be prepared to spend hours charging at each point. The recently announced Fed Govt funded...

Tesla app unable to wake car

Wasn't claiming Tesla would be the largest just at 60,000+ they would be significant to Telstra's IoT business. Believe most power utilities aggregate data from smart metres using power line signalling, RF or low power Wifi, then possibly be mobile - so number of SIMs is lower. EFTPOS...

Tesla app unable to wake car

How many other Australian customers would have 60,000+ SIM cards in the field on the one account? $ value they may not be as large as some corporates as I assume IoT pricing is somewhat cheaper than voice + data packages.

Using Waze On Tesla Model Y

If you want to run Waze, do it on your mobile. And just have the phone on the charging pod which is just below the screen. Quite easy to glance at on long journeys when on autopilot.
  10. M

    Supercharger - Sutton Forest/Exeter, NSW

Will be interesting to see what the cars planner suggests. Given its less of a detour off the highway, and the stalls are quicker and in peak demand will have less sharing, it should be a simple choice for those in the know. Albeit it's probably a little too close for those starting a journey...

    Evie EV charging networks

New under construction site spotted in Flinders, Vic (Mornington Peninsula) https://www.facebook.com/groups/teslaownersaustralia/permalink/576197624502317/?mibextid=Nif5oz
  12. M

    Supercharger - Sutton Forest/Exeter, NSW

If it does open soon, would again mean no sites under construction in Australia, which would be a surprise given the number planned.

    Ampol AmpCharge network

One of the NSW Govt awards, but AmpCharge coming to both sides of the F1 Wyong service centres as part of a broader redevelopment booting out McDonalds and adding Hungry Jacks and Oliver's. https://www.2gb.com/landmark-mcdonalds-due-to-close/

A little more from Mark Bailey Facebook.

    Queensland EV Charging Infrastructure Scheme

It does have a map (Link to PDF) and graphics are good.
  16. M

    Ampol AmpCharge network

Agreed particularly for 400V cars (ie. All Tesla's and the majority of EVs) you are paying $0.69/kWh for max 75kW or so Unless the can up the Amp limit it's expensive for what it provides.

    FSD Beta in Australia?

I think for now it just means there is a combined stack, so Tesla simply publishes one version of code rather than two. I don't think we can read much into it meaning FSD in Australia is any closer.
  18. M

    Queensland EV Charging Infrastructure Scheme

And an announcement https://statements.qld.gov.au/statements/97789 Tesla is among the winners of $10m for 44 sites across 30 Queensland towns. Alongside Evie, Engie, NRMA, RACQ. But not a huge amount more detail on who has won what. Notably the multiple sites include Rockhampton (where...

    FSD Beta in Australia?

All the cars getting the version according to TeslaFi have never had FSD Beta before. But those with FSD in the US are getting FSD features. https://www.notateslaapp.com/news/1435/tesla-reignites-fsd-beta-rollout-to-new-testers-with-latest-fsd-update So this does support the suggestion it is a...

    Out of whack AC pricing

Valet service in Aus tends to be a little more expensive - Westfield Bondi Junction in Sydney https://www.westfield.com.au/bondijunction/service/19Y8OL8x4eOCcwKam8yumc/valet-parking (And this place does have some Tesla wall chargers)
  21. M

    Out of whack AC pricing

Interesting. Certainly a benefit for employees (albeit no doubt a financial nightmare in Aus with our FBT (Fringe Benefits Tax) regime. The valet sounds expensive though. As V2G becomes more common, I actually see this being beneficial for many employers at campuses/factories... They charge...

    Showroom - Hobart, Tas

And a car showroom without any glass frontage is definitely strange. But Tesla does things differently (and somewhat frugally compared to most car showrooms) Miranda is also an ex-smaller Bunnings indeed a Tesla logo sits inside an old Bunnings triangular sign frame. Chatswood is an ex-NRMA car...

    Out of whack AC pricing

Thought I'd start a thread on the basis of a new EVSE (AC charger) I saw on Plugshare. Kind of #plugsharebitchin and but also a real issue. I might add I'm not at all in favour of free charging at all, even for AC. It totally distorts the market, encourages freeloading from locals (who could...

Is enhanced autopilot in Australia for a limited time?

Like anything with Tesla, availability and price can change from time to time. FSD in the US is much more expensive with the extra features. There is no 30-day trial of EAP. You get a 30-day trial of Premium Connectivity (which is otherwise $10/mth). Last Xmas Tesla gave a trial of EAP to...

The longest EV charging network in West Australia

$0.60/kWh for the 150kW DC, $0.35 for 7kW AC (presumably single phase). So slightly cheaper than the Supercharger at $0.66/kWh
  27. M

    Supercharger - New Plymouth (coming Q2 2022)

Depends on the purpose. The mall chargers in Aus (and US) major cities are very popular with Uber drivers and owners who don't have charging at home (apartments, or terraces etc) and most are 24hrs or Tesla has an access arrangement. Less useful for those driving through. They are also often...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Given the processing power in our Teslas I'd think it should be pretty simple with the existing cameras, compared to all the other analysis going on in an FSD stack. 1. Identify a pulsating speed sign 2. Drop frames with lower brightness 3. Normal video to data analysis

    SpaceX FH - ViaSat-3 Americas - LC-39A

Agreed not sure if ViaSat will be wanting to risk another new platform given the issues with Ariane 6. Remember this ViaSat3 program was announced in 2015 with expected launch in 2021, that has been continually delayed.
  30. M

    SpaceX FH - ViaSat-3 Americas - LC-39A

As an update to this ViaSat3 series, ViaSat is now re-tendering the launch of the Asia-Pac satellite, which was originally meant to fly on an Ariane 6 mission. Between SpaceX and ULA (who will launch the Europe satellite later this year)

    Supercharger - New Plymouth (coming Q2 2022)

Assume then on Hobson St in council parking? Or actually on hotel property? I'm assuming probably the latter. From scanning the council reports seems the site per post #23 received good feedback, but some concerns about exclusivity and ultimately council couldn't reach agreement with Tesla.
  32. M

    Supercharger - Runaway Bay, Qld

Spotted by Dwayne E on the TM3Y AU FB page. Open. Same price as Broadbrach at $0.57/kWh. Interesting the app says 140kW limit. 60th Australian Supercharger site celebrations 🎉🎈
  33. M

    Supercharger - Gundagai NSW

I am surprised it's not speed restricted to 80 or below, particularly at night Southbound where you've got cars joining into the fast lane. Or even using one of those Vic style side road activated limits.
  34. M

    OTR service station EV charging

And the ICE fleet (and Aus population) is still growing. You probably need to get BEV share to 70+% before new ICE vehicles become less than the number disposed of.
  35. M

    Supercharger - Gundagai NSW

And a photo of the relocated Chargefox units now up on Plugshare. Notably no official/fineable "No Parking" signage. Some $$$s have been found to fix Annie Pyers Drive. https://www.cgrc.nsw.gov.au/2022/08/25/1-million-for-annie-pyers-drive/
  36. M

    OTR service station EV charging

Although BP branding as well. Interesting they are proposing a small canopy on the vacuum bays, and nothing on the EV bays.
  37. M

    BP Pulse Network

On a quick count bp pules now at 27 sites. Ampol AMPCharge still at 5.
  38. M

    Supercharger - Gundagai NSW

Hope someone adds some new photos soon. I put a Report into Plugshare suggesting they dump the existing 70+ (crazy!) photos given the site has moved. You'd think improving the drainage might be cheaper than moving the chargers.
  39. M

    Edit button gone?

Both the Report and Edit button have disappeared in Mobile Portrait mode. But reappear in Chrome if you choose Desktop mode, or as above rotate your phone.
  40. M

    Supercharger - Runaway Bay, Qld

All normal (reverse in) stalls. Whereas at most other newish sites (other than Rochedale) Tesla has at least tried to have a nose in or accessible spot

Refresh Model X & S Waiting Room - AUSTRALIA (Orders cancelled by Tesla May2023)

I assume you're referring to the Tweet that I believe originally came from TOCWA I'm no engineer, but equally the 3/Y is far from symmetrical, and if you look just up-left to their big X on the S/X there is a penetration that does have a matching hole. No doubt more engineering work would be...

    Tesla gen 2 chargers

It looks like Type 2 on the side shot, but you haven't given us a front on shot of the car end.. if so it's somewhat useless in the US, so selling to an Aus or NZ best. The the 2nd issue is what generation the tails are. Newer ones are marked 15/15A and 10/10A, older ones 15/12A and 10/8A. The...

[RHD] Model S/X Delivery - Tesla cancel RHD option

Seemingly confirmed in Japan as well. Albeit Tesla will ship LHD cars to Japan - despite being predominantly a RHD country it is legal to drive LHD models.

[RHD] Model S/X Delivery - Tesla cancel RHD option

Orders from Australian S/X buyers have been cancelled today, with a statement that the S/X won't be available in RHD. See from here. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/7607456/

    Supercharger - Lancelin, WA

There was also a fairly recent I think TOCWA interview with a Synergy employee who suggested that Tesla was looking to install alongside the WA Govt rollout in a number of places. See the video in this post, particularly comments at 1.26.30 or so. https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/7423764/...

Supercharger charging speed throttling when busy

And I think Nathan M has recently gone past the battery warranty (160k) and is averaging 90k per year so will be catching people quickly. (Brisbane based rideshare driver)

    Jolt EV charging network

New Jolt app launched.. Pins on map have quite a different look. Note on Android I had to delete/uninstall the old app then re-install to get it working. Listed as 4.0.1 (8 May 2023)

    Supercharger - Port Campbell, Vic

About 100km from Apollo Bay (Voting Winner with 2024 target). Is that close enough to be considered the same?
