Heck we don't even know if the MYs coming out with new cameras are even "HW4". Tesla never tells anyone anything maybe they're just ready to change their supply chain over to new cameras and this is a step towards HW4.

All I can tell you is that it's exactly the same between a 21 and 23 Y. I believe Tesla buys the part from a 3rd party so the model change wouldn't necessarily impact a sourced part. It only take about 15 minutes to remove the tub and take out the part so you're not risking much removing it.

I traded an early 21 MY for a 23 MY 2 weeks ago and took the homelink module from the old and installed on the new. It took less than 30 minutes all in and works on the 23 exactly as it did on the 21.

If your current software version is more advanced than the most up to date version that contains the beta then you'll have to wait til it's updated. Tesla doesn’t like to roll vehicles back to older software. Also I'd temper my expectations I found the beta to be pretty useless.
