3rd Party App (Teslamate) interferes with car systems

I installed 2020.48.37.6 yesterday which is the latest version available for my car. I'm assuming you're AP2, hence the 2021 fw version. The 37.6 update didn't fix it. The guy at Teslafi insists is a firmware issue

3rd Party App (Teslamate) interferes with car systems

I wonder if this is maybe specific to cars with adjustable suspension. The front air pumps definitely cycle on after the contactors cycle.

3rd Party App (Teslamate) interferes with car systems

As of one of the more recent fw upgrades (4 months or so) the contactor switch on the internal charger cycles every minute along with the suspension pump also cycling. This coincides directly with the polling of the API by Teslafi which sounds like a very similar app. Teslafi's position is they...

I might have a fix for you with album art/media glitching. Apologies if you've already tried this. Go into service and take note of your wheel configuration. If you're on 19's, change to 21 or vice versa. The car will reboot but it's not a normal reboot. It's a bit of a hard reset. After it...

Clicking and Pump Noise - Car Parked & Not Plugged In

@aerodyne I just changed that in Teslafi as I noticed during deep sleep hours, the car did not wake up that way. I set mine from 12AM to 12AM. I'm assuming you picked 22 hours so that it would check in at least once during that time?

Clicking and Pump Noise - Car Parked & Not Plugged In

@beatle thanks a lot. I thought that all HW1 vehicles would stop FW updates in the 2020 version and will not move to 2021 FW versions. Maybe that's just a rumor.

Clicking and Pump Noise - Car Parked & Not Plugged In

So, I figured out what's doing this but have not figured out how to make it stop (outside of the obvious). This is being caused by Teslafi. Every time Teslafi polls the vehicle (every 1 minute), it goes through this cycle. This seemed to start a few firmware updates ago (2020.48.37.1) I also...

Clicking and Pump Noise - Car Parked & Not Plugged In

@aerodyne great idea. I just measured the 12V and it's showing 13.85v so I think I'm ok there. Your theory did get me thinking though about what's changed recently as it relates to what's feeding off that 12v source. 1. I installed a new wireless phone charger. It's using the same 12v plug...

Clicking and Pump Noise - Car Parked & Not Plugged In

This just started out of the blue. If you've ever had your car connected to the charging cable, gone into the app and set the charging limit higher than what the SOC was, this is EXACTLY what you'd hear. The only issue is, my car is not plugged in at all. The car will make a clicking sound...

Yeah, consider the fact that production of vehicles ramped up in bunches. I would expect to see the increase in failures directly proportional to the increase of vehicles sales. Looking at the Teslafi data, this update appears to be specific to older vehicles. Maybe I'm being overly paranoid but I'm inclined to wait this one out. I hate the fact that Tesla doesn't disclose a true change log like almost every other manufacturer does with firmware/software updates.

They only added power to the Raven models. The launch mode itself is different. For me, it's far more aggressive which may give you inconsistent results on the street if the pavement is poor or your tires are worn. Post an update here of your experience after you test it out.

You'll get a new launch mode but other than that, nothing special. If you use your USB port for music, it might not work after the update. Yeah, I think it's the damping that the Ravens have that has made that lowering exclusive. I'm fairly positive our cars would be able to lower the front end a bit but I doubt it would have any impact to acceleration without damping.

Here's a comparison between pre 2020.12.5 launch mode on the street and the new launch mode. You can see how much harder the car launches now. If the road or tires are not great, you're going to spin a bunch. Very inconsistent runs last night on the street due to road conditions. Tires have...

    Selling Tesla Model Y
