Would this apply to you getting a new car?

Go to Tesla website and search on can build one out but as mentioned above, does have HW4. Only minor things like front bumper camera and ambient lighting are rumored to be soon.
HW4 is related to Autopilot so it's hardware on newer cars which your car can't upgrade to. You have FSD Elon says it will work with your hardware installed but we will see.
Old thread: Benefits of HW3 v. HW2.5 besides FSD?
No problem. I get what you're saying now. Both the Roadster and Model S (2012) basically come to a complete stop and you just tap on the brakes. So also one pedal driving (basically). But no hill hold or anything like that in the newer cars.
The software updates have kept this 11 year old Model...
I think you'll be fine for a very long time in that car. You have a small window to maybe trade that in for a Model Y and transfer the free Supercharging.
But I'd wait until you run into an expensive repair and can then decide what to do.
I get it now. One pedal driving to me means using one pedal for almost everything but yes, sometimes brakes are needed.
The software updates over the last 11 years have been great. Car does so many things it couldn't do when it first came out.
One pedal driving has been with Tesla since the Roadster so not sure what you mean about that Model 3. They might have made regen stronger with a software update on the Model 3 but it was still there.
Covered here and a few other palces

But you need to look at the software screen I think to tell.
I'm year 11 into a 2012 Model S so out of warranty the last 3 years. You're usually better off taking the money you would have paid an extended warranty company and setting it aside in a special account only to use for car repairs (or other emergencies).
If radar is deemed essential to FSD since they added it back to Model S and Model X, you have to wonder what's going to happen to the hundreds of thousands of 3 and Ys as well. They would have been better off leaving the hardware there and turning it off to run their vision only experiment...
Same here. I had no intention to get a new car for at least another year or two until a new design Model S with 4680 cells hopefully came out. But transferring the Supercharging over and getting back under a warranty for at least 4 years will be nice.
Ordered the spoiler from RPM so it looks more like my old P85. I guess it's trying to jump into the Plaid for cheap but it is more of a performance car than my old P85 so might as well.
Not sure that's worth it but up to you of course. If you're concerned, just have a PPF installer you trust work on it right after you get the car. I would just accept delivery of the car and then drive it right there for the PPF. They will have to take off whatever you put on anyway and will...
I see. I'm probably wrong about leasing then (never leased a car before). I thought buying a car and selling it 3 years later (new car I mean) was almost always worse off financially.
Orders placed or cars produced on date after 11/4? Not sure I buy this either.
Estimated Delivery for new orders is still Nov-Dec so if true, could place new order and qualify for Supercharging transfer still.
You mean before lease is up? I assume either Tesla would fix issues during lease. But at end of lease, much easier to turn car in versus trying to sell a car with major issues.
I would buy the cheaper car if all other things being equal. A Dec 31st 2017 versus a Jan 1st 2018 model being in identical shape with identical features would come down to price.
The people doing this really should lease then. Makes no financial sense to buy a car and then sell it in three years. And if they can afford to do that, they really shouldn’t worry about the model year for a Tesla as Tesla doesn’t update features based on the model year. Something that...
The main question is can you afford any major repairs? If you're really stretching your budget with either option, might be best to wait a bit until it works.
You basically need to make a decision very soon. Your car has to be delivered by the end of December if you want to transfer a supercar into it. There are a few exceptions (if the delivery window says December, but it’s delivered in January, you were still good ) but basically, that’s the case.
And chance swapping in a 2020 steering wheel and column is possible? I assume of course that would harm the warranty somehow if an issue was traced back to it. And not sure it'd work with the current software as the gear selector is now on the screen.
If the price was fair, I think you have to accept the small cosmetic issues if they were noted when you bought the car and at pickup, you mentioned them. But things like missing molding they hopefully will help out with. And coolant leak of course since you have a warranty.
A good detailer can...
Agree. I think an X with 4 regular doors (won't happen while current CEO is there) would be great. Simplify it and lower cost hopefully.
I've never owned a 'luxury' car before. The S was as close as I've gotten so I never had a problem with it. I guess others coming from Mercedes don't feel the...
That would work if Tesla had dealerships in the traditional sense when they can dump 1,000 vehicles somepalce and let them worry about selling them. Tesla doesn't really have inventory they build up (some cars that were canceled of course but it's usually build to order).
I'm sure it makes...
This one😊 Had car over 11 years and it's been great. Having an older car that if something happens to it you're like "oh well" is kind of nice. But a new car with better range will be great too. I am looking forward to it. With the unique steering wheel and all.
Congrats. Home delivery is all they used to do very early on. I can’t see any downside but just make sure you’re happy with the vehicle before they leave.
When I never understood is why does the next model year matter? Assuming identical configurations, it really makes no difference unless you’re planning on selling the car in three years maybe.
I'm about as early a customer as possible and it's all starting to wear on me. I obviously ordered another Tesla so will see what happens after that. I'm hoping they go the Apple route and get a more boring CEO that can help the company grow and lower the temperature at the company. Maybe they...
Seems like an incredibly dumb way to run a company but I guess it has worked so far. Just not sure how much patience people will have if this continues for much longer given the coming competition.
