The Octopus Mini is only designed as an IHD replacement for live readings and isn't used as part of official metering. The whole smart metering fiasco could have been vastly better had consideration been given to secured Wi-Fi communications.

While it confirms if the meter has been registered on to the Smart DCC it doesn’t confirm whether it is operating normally. Also unable to be used with an Export MPAN. UKPN still also not including that in their address/meter lookup email service :(

Third-party apps such as Loop Energy can gain access to smart meter import and gas values (if provider permits) but seems export wasn't designed-in or implemented sufficiently by SMETS2/Smart DCC for that to be monitored externally.

I’m still in a bleak reading-less desert of non-participation this year. 16:30–18:30 tomorrow would be an actually effective time-frame, for split group DFS like last time. Just passed the 10:00 anticipatory notice time so likely won’t be today.

National Grid will normally issue DFS Anticipatory notice by 10:00 weekdays, then confirm around 14:30 if so. Nothing issued today. This year’s Saving Sessions can be same day notification too, even down to hours before.

I don’t think Tesla have any interest in conforming to UNECE. If they did we’d already have autonomous lane changes, which came into effect 1st Jan 2023. They might even be right that the biggest thing to influence foreign regulators is FSD working well within US first.

From what I read the only dual thing about it was proposed legislation so that GB vehicles sold to NI would have the choice between UNECE and UK regulation.

If it schedules then whole half hours where it starts, ends, or is actively charging throughout from schedule means yes, off-peak 7.5 p/kWh rate instead of peak.
