Yeah...not even close in certain areas. The more you are in a city center, the more broken the CCS network is. Garbage. I gave up up even using my EV6 for long trips. Just use the Model 3 for that now.
that 30 vs. 27 is misleading. You get a much much bigger underneath compartment in the Model Y and a frunk. No actual frunk in the I5.
Also, the I5 drives smoother than the Model Y but the handling isn't any better. I would say the Model Y actually drives sportier but ride quality isn't...
what about storage space? I have an EV6 which is about the same size as an N and I've rented a Model Y a couple times spanning about a month of rental time. Model Y is much bigger and way more practical in terms of total space.
I agree about the passenger space though. Model Y and Ioniq 5...
I read that the Ioniq 5 N shouldn't weigh more with the new battery pack. Its supposedly a change in battery density vs. actual size. Good to see battery evolution at play here.

Nice...i bet you'll be upgrading if the Highland Ludicrous comes out.
You ever think about the Plaid? I want a nimble car so the Ludicrous version appeals to me way more.
Actually, I'm really partial to the M3P seats. Best seats i've ever had in terms of comfort and better for me than the i4 (which i've sat in). However, I really really miss the ventilated / cooled seats from my other cars so I'm looking forward to the Highland version.
I don't like the...
Yeah I agree with this. The i4 is a nicer car for sure but its not as fun to drive. As I said earlier...the one who mashes the pedal will most likely win no matter what 😁
Does it actually beat it in the 1/4th? I've seen numerous 11.4s as the fastest M3P times but I still haven't seen an I4 M50 do that. I've yet to see sub 3.1s 0-60 on an iM50 and i've also seen that with a stock M3P. Almost every Youtube drag race featuring those 2 have the M3P slightly...
I just hope they don't do anything dumb like get rid of ventilated seats. That instantly killed any desire for me to get the Hyundai N or Kia EV6 GT 😁
Honestly, the only real separation between the M3P, i50M and Kia EV6 GT is whoever gets the jump first. It would be nice if the new M3P...
Understand your points but I don't value ride quality and looks as you probably do. I wish the M3P was faster and I wish the Plaid was smaller. Hopefully the Ludicrous Model 3 is the sweet spot. Again, for many of us, its personal preference vs. affordability that is driving our decision for...
The first year Model 3 Performance was a $80k car 😁 Lets not mistake preference for level of wealth. There are plenty of people on these forums that could easily afford the humongous S / X but choose to downsize for preference.
Not really...Model S feels like a boat. Yes its fast but most of the time, I'm not launching the car. Give me the Model 3 size any time because I don't want a boat.
Congrats! Did you sell the RS3? I would have considered the M50 if it had NACS but when I upgrade, i'm sure the new Highland Performance/Ludicrous will be out.
Does the M50 come with preconditioning and route planning? Also, how is the scheduled maintenance on the car?
No...read the article I linked above. Its based on the model itself...not a specifc trim. Most likely, the entire Model 3 will no longer qualify for the $7500. Conversely, it explains why the new RWD Model Y actually uses NMC batteries that are smaller vs. LFP. Enables Tesla to keep the...
I thought the way they provide tax credits is to calculate a fleet average to qualify for the $7500 vs. $3750
https://www.autoevolution.com/news/how-tesla-massaged-the-ira-to-qualify-the-model-3-rwd-for-the-full-7500-tax-credit-216038.html
Tesla even gave warning that the $7500 will end...
Its really bad luck. I have a 2019 that I drive hard and its had 2 sets of tires, 2 sets of air filters, 12V battery, FM module and windshield wiper fluid reservoir fix. I only consider 2 of those warranty repairs. The rest are consumables.
I saw this. How does he know that his battery death was from Supercharging? Any number of things could have gone wrong that caused it. Also, he paid $9k for a refurbished battery with 14%? That was a bad purchase...would rather explore getting a new battery for $15k with a full battery...
His arguments were so high level. We shouldn't have self-driving cars or any connected cars because they can be hacked. He had an agenda and unfortunately, came off as kinda stupid in the podcast.
The new Highland will have equivalent coefficient of drag and hoping the new Ludicrous M3 will up the ante on performance. Always good to have competition.
I don't know if the Model S quality is any better (if not worse). I think i find more complaints on the S forums than even the newer 3s. Maybe a crap shoot no matter what 😁
Really bad luck there. I have over 40k miles on my 2019 M3P and the only warranty items i've had was bad weather strip lining that needed glueing, FM module going out in 1st week of ownership, puncture for windshield wiper fluid reservoir and 12V battery. The first 2 things on my list was when...
I agree with what you said and lots of evidence that suggest battery degradation is significantly lower under 70% for LFP (55% for NCA). Also, LFP has more charge cycles but cyclic degradation is significantly lesser factor in overall degradation vs. calendar aging.
I would personally only...
Charging an LFP to 100% everytime isn't exactly great for it. Its recommended to charge to 100% once a week but it has the same weakness as any other Li-ion battery in that high SoC has higher degradation. Frankly, I just charge to around 50% daily as I rarely drive more than 100 miles in a...
I do 53%...its because it fluctuates by 1-2% after I finish charging. I figure i won't exceed 55% if it goes wonky afterwards. Sounds like a lot of us are OCD 😁
Model S doesn't really compete with an M3 or Model 3. I'd still rather pick up a Plaid over an M3 simply due to the outright speed the Plaid has and I think its a neater car for the price.
However, I would prefer a revised M3P for $60-70k vs. either car as that would be a better value for me...
I would be pleasantly surprised if C&D is right. The Kia EV6 GT is significantly decontented vs. the N and only costs $63k with less horsepower. The N also comes with a bigger battery. Lets see how Hyundai plays this.
I just want a faster M3P is all. I think the Model S is just simply too big so want something smaller (and cheaper). I would have considered a M60 i4 but didn't really like the car. If the Germans had something I like, I would have bought it.
Also, never said having more power on the track...
Not really concerned about the super niche people that want the track focused car from an OEM. I keep hearing about this mythical German car that will supposedly put the Tesla in its place whenever some German OEM wants to bring it out. I just want a road car with a ton of power for cheap with...
Last I checked, the Plaid is cheaper than a loaded M3 and would put a train length on it in a quarter. Still waiting for Germany to respond. Plaids not exactly new.
Elon loves the competition and the Germans haven’t exactly brung it from a power perspective.
I think they tweak the M3P enough to get it in high 10s quarter mile and charge $5k more and call it a day. That would be good enough for me to upgrade when my current car gets to 6-7 years.
