    Cybertruck Waiting Room - Australia

Model s and x were on the menu up until they were cancelled, and they already met australian design rules.

    NSW Green Vehicle Guide

Isnt it all a bit academic? The source of power when charging dictates the operational environmental credentials of any ev. The most inneficient ev charged from solar is superior to the most efficient ev charged from a fossil generator.

    M3 ultra red in reality

Loght colour interiors reflect ambiant light on their fabrics, dark interiors absorb it. Hence the more stunning lit interior at night will be white

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

No I havn’t upgraded it yet. Probably will not bother. I also tend to use tidal when on my own. Much better sound quality.
  5. P

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

Spotify in my merc eqe is substantially better than in our model s. (No faults, dropouts, skipping) So either spotify makes different versions or the manufacturers are implementing it differently.

    Cybertruck Waiting Room - Australia

That is not how tesla treated years waiting model s and x owners in Australia a few months ago

Driver side headlight gets lower and lower

I can confirm that headlights have to be levelled and calibrated. One of mine was replaced recently and I watched them doing both in a dark part of the shed they call the service centre.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

It seems tesla are following the mercedes version of single press enabling tacc and autosteer. The difference is the mercedes version lets the driver take over steering as much as they want and whenever they want (and reverts back to lane keeping at any time) and the system will not drop out...

Describe your initial impressions upon new delivery of 2023 Model Y

I’ll add terrible and at times dangerous cruise control

Describe your initial impressions upon new delivery of 2023 Model Y

It is nowhere near absolutely flawless. Closer to absolutely useless But workable if you use an american accent, even set to british english. What is annoying is that the version I had when I purchaced the car was absolutely flawless.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

there is a calibration process for the windows. For memory its log out of apps, put all windows down, get out and lock car. Get back in car and put all windows up together, then log back into app. If this isnt quite right someone elso could maybe correct the procedure. It solved a similar issue...

    Car Insurance Options

My merc eqe is insured for 3 times the value of my model s. Same garage, same two drivers, same insurance company via the same broker with renewal 1 month apart. The eqe has more power and unlike the 4.5 year old S is a new for old policy. The eqe is $20 cheaper per annum. I can only assume that...

    Car Insurance Options

I found MBinsurance via my broker to be the most competative for model S recently. it was a couple of months ago so who knows if they still are.

    Ear pain in Model Y

I’v had this in model S. I resolved it by adjusting the rubber stoppers that control where the boot closes. I just did small adjustments until I found the sweet spot.

    Bathurst Track Day

They are talking a very short pit stop time which will be mandated. Presume the objective is then for teams to maximise power input in that time so they can push harder. I didnt see any numbers. Based on the video it was maybe a minute or two.
  17. P

    Bathurst Track Day

I read recently that Formula E is introducing pit stop charging. That may lead to some substantial new charging speeds

    Road noise - 2023 Model Y

I’m sure tesla already know what the issues are. They’ve already chosen to either not deal with them or do not know how
  20. P

    Road noise - 2023 Model Y

I think toyota is a bit harsh but generally yes thats correct. My eqe ev is crazy quiet. I cannot hear most cars travelling the other direction. I suspect there is some clever noise cancelling going on. I have the awful idea of fake engine noises fully turned off.
  21. P

    Road noise - 2023 Model Y

I dont use public infrastructure and I certainly dont use much storage. Key criteria for me are a decent cruise control, a bulletproof voice system, no ongoing changes to where I find information, low road noise, and comfortable but not spongy ride. For all of that, tesla cannot deliver.

Gen3 wall charger, 3-phase install question

My model S charges 32a per phase 3 phase, so the restriction must be model 3/Y. I never use it though. My preferred charge speed is 10-15a, depending on the available sunshine.

40amp Single Phase wall charger info

Interesting. Nothing like a bit of inconsistency
  26. P

40amp Single Phase wall charger info

Any options on the car are listed in the “specs & warranty” section on the app (bottom of the home screen) or on your tesla account. If its not showing as an option than you are unlikely to have it. I think the options are also listed on the cars central screen from one of the menu’s.

Create a time based charging window for the Power Wall 2 battery

I reckon tesla will add than funtionality to the app before it occurs. A lot of the powerwall r&d is done at tonsley in adelaide
  28. P

40amp Single Phase wall charger info

Make sure you press that reset button on the side when the installation is complete. It typically will not function until you do. It is in the manual but not in a big way.

40amp Single Phase wall charger info

I used to have 2 single phase HPWC

    Black seats in MY

My understanding is that the ‘natural’ or manufactured colour of the product is white, and any colour is added to that. I did not say the seats were dyed white than dyed black. No need for your second sentence so I wont make a response to it.
  32. P

    Black seats in MY

Yes the white is a better option. Poor boys leather stuff with a leather brush works well, but my understanding is the black seats are dyed on the white, so be carefull. Carpro interior isnt very effective.

    SA Govt EV Network

I do not agree that ratepayer funds should continue to be used for ev charging other than if the community is in the middle of nowhere, which onkaparinga isnt. Councils should be doing all they can and removing all obstacles to facilitate private investment in charging stations and then using...

LFP battery - how often is too often to charge?

I think you have taken @arcos quote way out of context. The words before it certainly suggest such.

Tesla braked hard when car crossed in front

I have only experienced it on autopilot (several times). Here in australia we do not have the fsd that you have, so I cannot comment if it has the same failures.
  36. P

Tesla braked hard when car crossed in front

I suspect the car in front of me that did not brake is going to t’bone the car that is 150 metres away before I get to the scene
  37. P

Tesla braked hard when car crossed in front

Phantom braking, when you experience it, is full application of the brakes with abs kicking in to precent lockup. It is nothing like regen braking
  38. P

Tesla App unable to Navigate to address

I have the same issue. Its just another tesla untested screwup. Standard protocol is tesla pretend its not happening to anyone else. The app was recently updated.
  39. P

Tesla braked hard when car crossed in front

This only happens when the tesla cruise control or autopilot are engaged, and get used to it as it happens often. I no longer use it.

Tesla App unable to Navigate to address

If you enter the address in your calender/diary as location does it successfully send it to the car?

    Home charging

For what its worth, my telsa gen 2 connector plugs into but does not work with my merc eqe. I’m also reasonably certain that tesla is the only manufacturer that does amp changes within the car & has an app. If reducing amps is important to you then I think there are only 2 connectors available...

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

You believe what comes from a politicians mouth?
  44. P

State based EV road user charge (Overturned 18/10/23)

other than some gst, I cannot see what the revenue consequences were on the feds, unless there is a secret plan to reduce feds state road contributions by the amount of ev tax collected.
  45. P

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

tesla are aware of phantom braking and warn of it in the manual. I’m sure if they knew of optimum calibration conditions to avoid it then the manual would state that instead. Once the warning is removed from the manual we will know it has been resolved. Until then the risk of a full braking...

Rough idea on what Gen 3 install should cost

Sounds fair, but any electrician can install a tesla or indeed any ev charger (technically it‘s a connector not a charger). It’s installation is no more complicated than any other hard wired appliance.
  47. P

    Distance Between Vehicles

Their latest system is even better. It seems to do everything at the pace and distance that I would normally choose. The lane change and roundabout speeds are perfect. I have to adjust my expectations when jumping back into the tesla.
