Anybody try Sailun E-range tires for Model X?

Love these tires - just took them off for the winter. Miss the efficiency gains i had from running these until now.

    Model X 2016 Headlight

I did testing last night and took a video/pics i sent to Tesla. Essentially the passenger side has the low-beam/regular night beam bulb blown. Everything else works perfectly - high beam, Daytime running light (the lower brow) etc. I opened a ticket with Tesla asking if they could simply just...

    Model X 2016 Headlight

I have exact same issue on 2017 MX . $3500+ quote. I started looking at eBay and wasn’t sure what I needed and if this is something I could even attempt or best to bite bullet.

Anybody try Sailun E-range tires for Model X?

Hi All - reporting back after 3+ months with the E-range. Bottom line they are great - tons of heavy rainstorms with no issues and i'm still enjoying over 5% range improvement over the ConTis. Close to 7000 kms so far. I highly recommend if you're looking for a solid alternative to the OEMs at...

Anybody try Sailun E-range tires for Model X?

Update: Over 4000km now, many heavy rain storms and no issues. The tires are less noisy and better range than OEMs. Still Averaging about 5% improved range. Now lets see how the tread life does.

Anybody try Sailun E-range tires for Model X?

After a week of intense rain here in Toronto the Sailun's have held up great including one panic stop in pouring rain on highway. We're up to 1200 kms now. My wife can't tell of any degradation from the Conti's. Noise is definitely better and we continue to see ~5% range improvement. If these...

Anybody try Sailun E-range tires for Model X?

Update after 750 Kms and some pretty wet and coolish weather here in Toronto… still seeing 5% better range. 248 wh/km on the Contis before change and 235 wh/km after the change. Wife loves how quiet they are and no issues in some of the recent heavy rains

Hankook new iON tire, an "EV" tire (not the same as Kinergy GT)

First big long highway trip in rain upto cabin on the Sailun’s. Saw about 5% range improvement and performed great in the rain. Perhaps most impressive suprise is the reduction in noise. Really quiet as the YouTube review points out even in rain. Really start to notice other annoying sounds:)

Hankook new iON tire, an "EV" tire (not the same as Kinergy GT)

Understood re: reviews - this one here was interesting to me and the comments from author in the YouTube comments thread. Interesting to learn about their new Cambodia factory and the state of art process used to make the Erange. After watching this it pushed me off the hump and decided to give...

Hankook new iON tire, an "EV" tire (not the same as Kinergy GT)

On my MX Seeing approx 5% improvement in range with Sailun Erange vs the OEM contis and noticeably less road noise on most surfaces. All and all living up to the few reviews that are out there.

Anybody try Sailun E-range tires for Model X?

Haven't had that chance yet but will report back. Wife drove the car all day today and really liked them as well (she is primary driver and often notices the smallest things)

Anybody try Sailun E-range tires for Model X?

Ok everyone - i took the Sailun Erange plunge today and got a set of four mounted for $1310 CAD out the door at local Taylor Tire!! I must admit i was a bit nervous but after the 50km drive back over mixed highway/street i can confirm range improved slightly over the OEM Contis, noise was better...

Anybody try Sailun E-range tires for Model X?

I had issues finding them as well - got the $1200 quote and when i went to schedule time they changed tune and couldn't get them for weeks. I'm riding on almost no tread depth so needed to source sooner. Found a place in Markhim ON called Taylor tires - they quoted $1310 installed with taxes in...

Michelin CC2, Vredestien Quatrac Pro, or Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail?

Thank you for update. 10% is more than I would be willing to sacrifice given long summer trips to cabin where current OEM contis get me there and back with about 10-15% battery to spare

Hankook new iON tire, an "EV" tire (not the same as Kinergy GT)

Yes that is the trade off but specs and the few reviews out there seem positive. If anybody knows place in Toronto area that carry Hankook Ion stock please let me know. Seem to be pretty rare find here.

Hankook new iON tire, an "EV" tire (not the same as Kinergy GT)

Also wondering if anyone has ventured and tried the Sailun Erange EV Tires - they seem almost identical in approach and setup

Hankook new iON tire, an "EV" tire (not the same as Kinergy GT)

I am pretty much sold on these for my 2017 MX. Challenge is finding stock in the Toronto area - i badly need to get the OEMs changed this week as inner rear treads are gone. Anybody have experience with these on the MX in particular??

    HankookVENTUS S1 EVO3 - SIZE: 235/40R19 or Michelin PILOT SPORT 4S - SIZE: 235/40ZR19

Looking at the Hankook Ion's as well. Very little info on them but the specs look great - especially rolling resistance/range.

Michelin CC2, Vredestien Quatrac Pro, or Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail?

Is the range hit on your CC2 still about 10%? was wondering if this would lower as you break them in

Can anybody share more range data on the Cross Climate 2? is there a noticeable range loss from the OEM Conti's?

Looking for tire suggestions on a 2018 MX 100D

Love to understand if there was any range hit. I have these tires and the Sailun Erange tires on my list to replace OEMs (looking for 3 season as i run dedicated winters)

2023 20" Tire choice help - 3 Season Tires Prioritize Range, Comfort, Treadwear - any new tires released?

Noticed Pirelli just launched the WeatherActive line to compete with CC2s. In reading up on both, it would appear a 10% range hit is quite possible.

2023 20" Tire choice help - 3 Season Tires Prioritize Range, Comfort, Treadwear - any new tires released?

The Cross Climate 2's look like a great option - thank you for highlighting. Looks like i can get them for $1600 so a decent savings and the treadwear looks to be atleast double. Curious if anyone has a preferred Pirelli?

2023 20" Tire choice help - 3 Season Tires Prioritize Range, Comfort, Treadwear - any new tires released?

Hi Folks - i know there have been a lot of tire threads in the past but looking to see if anything has changed in 2023 with newer choices for 20" MX setup (265/275) setup. Tesla wants $2500 Cdn to replace the OEM Conti's on the 20 rims which seems rather insane just for rubber. Treadwear has...

Anybody try Sailun E-range tires for Model X?

thx for the feedback - Sailun seems to emphasis in this "EV" specific tire that the sidewalls are reinforced etc. I may take a pass and let these tires be in the market for a while.
  30. T

Anybody try Sailun E-range tires for Model X?

Got a quote from local tire installer - $1200 (CAD) for set of four installed vs. $2400 CAD for Tesla to install the OEM Contis. I am very tempted but can't find a single review on a X. I'm not fussy about high performance - want a tire that will last, quiet and efficient.
  31. T

Anybody try Sailun E-range tires for Model X?

The new Sailun Erange tires are available locally for my model X and about half the price of the OEM tires. Specs seem decent and range may actually improve. Anybody try these yet?

2017 MX - Integrated Parking Brake stuck - can i remove actuator?

Anybody have any estimate on what it costs to replace the two rear Mando brake assemblies? i believe they come with the parking brake actuator pre-installed as one unit.

2017 MX - Integrated Parking Brake stuck - can i remove actuator?

Well it was worth a shot to see if I could drive it to dealer and save $200 on the tow. I believe that entire brake assembly will be replaced by Tesla and probably overdue at 140k kms. Only saving grace is failure happened in garage vs on road trip. We will need to get the car out on skates and...

2017 MX - Integrated Parking Brake stuck - can i remove actuator?

Well i got myself into bit of hot water. I got the actuator off but the screw head broke off. It has a weird gear pinion that goes into the brake assembly and i had no way to manually turn that. I tried all sorts of bit shapes and nothing was snug. I guess it is tow time + expensive replacement...

2017 MX - Integrated Parking Brake stuck - can i remove actuator?

HI Folks - i have the integrated parking brake / single caliper setup on my 2017 MX. I have the dreaded parking brake fault and can't get Telsa out of garage and a tow would be super expensive. I've seen multiple videos / tutorials on how to remove the actuator from older X/S models where the...

DIY repair: EPB_w053 - Parking brake did not release, EPB_w052 - Parking brake functions degraded

So got the wheel off my 2017 MX and i definitely have the integrated parking brake. I see there is a motor/actuator driving this as well but unsure if this can come apart like in the older models. Does anyone have a tutorial on this? i see two bolts that seem to be holding the actuator onto the...

Help 2017 MX - Parking Brake Failure

Very helpful - many thanks. Found a YouTube video showing how to remove and check. I think worst case I remove the actuator and it can be fixed but I can drive it to Tesla and save $500 on flatbed tow.

DIY repair: EPB_w053 - Parking brake did not release, EPB_w052 - Parking brake functions degraded

What is worst case if you take off the parking brake motor and it is beyond saving? Could you drive the car to dealer or is it too risky that car would roll while parked? Reason i ask is Tesla wants to send a flatbed tow truck to pickup car which will be atleast $500 just for the tow. I'd...

2017 X - just offered Camera upgrade? Physical size same?

Have a 2017x with FSD and computer upgrade. Got the camera update notification today. My existing side repeater cameras have black covers - curious if these new cameras are physically the same as original or is there a slight difference. Do they replace anything besides side repeaters?

    Model X front end creaking

Thanks a bunch for that. They sent me a quote for only $275 dollars in parts to replace both upper arms. Model X front end creaking

Thank you - very helpful. What exactly is the "Bash plate" - i will make note of this in my service request. I had a recall service in Nov where they did work on the upper arms and greasing them so i've reopened that case in the hopes they look at this under the recall request.

    Model X front end creaking

I think i just joined this creaking club. We were away for 5 weeks and car sat undriven during that time. Two days back and it is creaking really badly at slow speeds over any bumps. I can push down on the car when it is parked and make it creak on the driver side. QUESTION: How does one inject...

    Draw-Tite Aftermarket Receiver Package

Glad you like the Draw-Tite. We have had ours for 14 months now on a 2017 mx 100. The thing has been awesome. We are getting a new wake boat on weekend that will tip the scales at 6000 lbs with trailer. I am tempted to trailer it the short 10k route to boat launch but currently have a friend...
