Supercharger - Yorba Linda, CA - Yorba Linda Blvd (LIVE 21 Nov 2023, 8 V3 stalls)

Today, I plugged in to see if the charge rate had increased. It went down to 35kWh. Anyone have a guess as to what is happening?

California Utilities Plan All Out War On Solar, Please Read And Help

The utilities don't care where the money comes from. The concept of an income-based utility fee is from the bureaucrats and politicians.

California Utilities Plan All Out War On Solar, Please Read And Help

Yes....the reality check is that California believes anyone with a high income is evil and both a polluter and racist.

Supercharger - Yorba Linda, CA - Yorba Linda Blvd (LIVE 21 Nov 2023, 8 V3 stalls)

I plugged in today and found a max of about 65 kW. These are V3 (250 kW) Superchargers, so something is amiss. Is it possible that Tesla has some kind of agreement with the shopping center to slow charging so drivers will visit the retail stores?

California Utilities Plan All Out War On Solar, Please Read And Help

In the two months since I reported my plans in this forum, Tesla has released an update to the Tesla App that allows Charge on Solar capabilities that are exactly what I was looking for! Here is a summary of what I now see most days here in Southern California. Yes, California is now planning...

Supercharger - Yorba Linda, CA - Yorba Linda Blvd (LIVE 21 Nov 2023, 8 V3 stalls)

Up and running! We now have 16 SCs in Yorba Linda……and we need more! Tesla has been extremely successful in selling to this city.

Supercharger - Yorba Linda, CA - Yorba Linda Blvd (LIVE 21 Nov 2023, 8 V3 stalls)

Gosh.....time is getting by and still no transformer to power the site. A couple of months since everything else in place.

Looking for ultra red wrap material?

I need to know, also. My golf buddy showed up in an ultra-red S....and my white 2022 S suddenly just sucks.

Supercharger - Yorba Linda, CA - Yorba Linda Blvd (LIVE 21 Nov 2023, 8 V3 stalls)

101 days since permit...and still no transformer on site.

    Yoke vs Steering

From a couple of sources, I have heard that the quality on the newer yokes is no better than the original. Anyone had a replacement begin to delaminate?

    Display Reability

Moderator note: This is a combination of two identically-started threads. OK...I am old. BUT....my eyes are still pretty good. Does it seem to anyone else that the font size and color on the display are too hard to read....especially when it is important and you have only fractions of second to...

    Yoke vs Steering

I bought a 2022 S at a time when there was no wheel option. Pleasant on the highway. Horrible in parking lots. Some close calls. The quality is so poor that it started to delaminate at six months. In 2023, Tesla changed my yoke to a wheel at no cost to me. I am much happier. I notice that both...

Right. So that is the transformer that takes power from the utility, right?

Supercharger - Yorba Linda, CA - Yorba Linda Blvd (LIVE 21 Nov 2023, 8 V3 stalls)

Update: So, it looks like the moment that I connected was just minutes after the installation team complete their phase of the work. I returned a few hours ago, and indeed, it appears that the main transformer has not been installed. Covers have been put on the chargers.

Stopped by this morning. Fences down. Successfully plugged in....but no juice. Still cleaning up the site. I probably arrived a few minutes too early. BUT....I must surely get "The Win" for being first to plug in!

Supercharger - Yorba Linda, CA - Yorba Linda Blvd (LIVE 21 Nov 2023, 8 V3 stalls)

What makes YL "Teslatown? A bazillion Teslas on the roads and in garages! A new delivery center in the neighborhood.

Supercharger - Yorba Linda, CA - Yorba Linda Blvd (LIVE 21 Nov 2023, 8 V3 stalls)

There are another eight V3s just a quarter of a mile to the east. So, YL - also known as Teslatown - now has 16 SC V3s. More to come, I hope.

I took this photo a few minutes ago here in Yorba Linda. It looks like it is good to go, probably just awaiting inspection.

California Utilities Plan All Out War On Solar, Please Read And Help

Correct. That is my issue. Hopefully, someone at Tesla will grasp that some of us need that. I can guess at it, of course, but that is not the same as planning it carefully. I should add that it seems clear that as our utility (SCE) seeks to find ways to extra money from those who invested so...

California Utilities Plan All Out War On Solar, Please Read And Help

I am retired. I have Teslas. I have solar. I have batteries. So....after the solar charges up my batteries, I could direct my solar to charging our cars. BUT....while I can manually make that happen, I don't know a way for my all-Tesla system to do this for me. Does anyone know of a solutions?

Supercharger - Yorba Linda, CA (LIVE 25 May 2023, 8 stalls)

Confirming those earlier photos: chargers look ready to go. Must not have a permit.

Supercharger - Yorba Linda, CA (LIVE 25 May 2023, 8 stalls)

Will check it out again today, but those photos look quite real. Commercial permitting at that place have at least one significant problem involved the then-city council member. (There was a Wendy's there, but it was not allowed to have a drive-through window!)

Supercharger - Yorba Linda, CA - Yorba Linda Blvd (LIVE 21 Nov 2023, 8 V3 stalls)

This is a very handy location for many....and much needed in Yorba Linda, which some of us labeled Teslatown about seven years ago. Tesla's are everywhere in this town!

    FSD issue

In hopes that Tesla checks this site, some feedback on strange FSD/NAV actions here in SoCal. Exiting 71N to take a left turn on Soquel Canyon Parkway, the car gets in the proper left lane to make the turn, then violently tries to turn right. The system map suggest that it might not believe the...

    Show of hands… Adaptive Suspension

All I can contribute is that the oscillation is gone. Software update, I suppose, but I can't tell any difference in the settings.

    Doors won’t lock

Got upgrade to 2022.40.4 in my 2022 SLR. No longer unlocks when I approach. Could not open trunk. Door handles don't respond when touched. Hope there is an update coming soon.

    Dead key card

Probably just a bad batch. Mine looks like a different manufacturer. I suspect Tesla has plenty of these failing.
  32. Ed Hart

    Dead key card

Not really. It was sitting in my wallet with other credit cards, and it did what you see. No offense, but I used to be in the credit card business, so I know whereof I speak. I have not bothered to read the new specs at https://www.iso.org/standard/31432.html....but I am certain that the...
  33. Ed Hart

    Dead key card

Not really. Smart cards can be wallet-carried for years with no cracking degradation. They meet a very tough ISO specification. On the other hand, my Tesla Model S key card cracked and failed in six months of normal wallet carry. Anyone else experienced this??

    Yoke peeling

Do we have a count on how many people have had their yoke replaced?
  35. Ed Hart

    Yoke peeling

A crude spray-on. Pretty bad for a car in this price range.

    Yoke peeling

NOW....we know why quality steering wheels are leather. Here is my yoke after 10,000 miles. I hope Tesla switches to leather.....soon!

Well....the problem disappeared back in late April.

My comments on 2022 Tesla Model X PLAID

Do you have the adaptive suspension? I have it in 2022 S, and I don’t think it works. There is no difference in the settings, and there is a ringing when small, quick bumps occur. What about you ?

    Show of hands… Adaptive Suspension

I have also decided that I cannot tell the difference between any of the settings on the Adaptive Suspension System. The problem I am having with a "ring" in the front suspension may be because Tesla has not yet activated the software(?). I posted this elsewhere in an attempt to explain what I...

Poll: 3x - 4x mph Refreshed Model S (LR and Plaid) Vibration issue build / VIN ranges

So, Well.....a bit embarrassing to have to do this on a #100K car but I followed your lead. I used Gorilla Tape, two wraps. Problem solved.....for the time being.

Poll: 3x - 4x mph Refreshed Model S (LR and Plaid) Vibration issue build / VIN ranges

Fully agreed. Similar latch on X works, but the car is so noisy that if the latch is making noise, I will never hear it. NVH anyone??

Poll: 3x - 4x mph Refreshed Model S (LR and Plaid) Vibration issue build / VIN ranges

Would appreciate a photo of exactly what you did. On my previous Model S, the rear seats had a perfect mechanical latch and release that was very solid when latched My new Model S has the electric latch, and I have the noise on both rear seats.

    Jebinc’s Plaid Vibration Experiment Results!!!

Can you please direct me to that other thread. I agree that there is probably not enough resolution in the display of wheel ringing motion. However, notice that three wheels show a mirror image rebound while the left front - the wheel intentionally activated - is NOT a mirror image. Added...
