I have a feeling they will wait until after the new pedestrian bridge goes up. Either that or the New Dixie interchange.

Maximizing Launch Traction of MYP by Changing Tires?

Can you just turn off traction control in track mode and check for yourself? I don’t have a P, so I’m not sure.

    Model Y Suspension Suggestions

Maybe you should just do a 180 and embrace the height. Get a MPP lift kit and some Rally Armour Mud Flaps.

    Model Y Suspension Suggestions

One isn’t very helpful on such a subjective field. Depends if you want to spend the money. The only good thing will be knowing that it’s a matched set, so it perform well. It’s just a matter of whether or not that is how you want the car to perform. Have you checked suspension bushings to...

    Model Y Suspension Suggestions

Good to hear you’re getting it under control. The thought on the 235/55R18 was to get you back to stock ride height, since you mentioning lowering the car to get rid of the extra height from the tires. You might get a better ride from the shorter tire and factory springs/shocks or even stock...

Fair enough. I was thinking underdamped due to the bottoming out comment and previous need to soften the suspension.

    Model Y Suspension Suggestions

If your car is bouncing around, you need more damping, not less, so stiffer is better in this case. You also have a lot of variables flying around with the eibach springs, oversized touring tires and now the shocks. If these aren’t getting you where you want to be, then you might be going...

Who knows? They occupy the same space, so might be better to put up the bridge before opening.

Advice on Model Y Winter Tire Modification to 18"

Not sure if they fit, but check the load rating on them. I don’t believe they are rated for them Model Y with two motors. Fast Wheels has good communication. They let me know their Replika R241 18x8.5” would fit my MYLR and it did. This was back in 2020 before anyone really knew.

Tesla Y LR 11.5 rear width

Gotcha. Missed that last sentence. Glad they’re only the back wheels. No actual experience with rear wheels that large, but I did have experience with the front ones when the car first came out. Good luck!

Koni - Special Active (Red - Formerly FSD) and Sports (Yellow) - Coming Soon for Model 3 and Y

Thanks for the review! What about over potholes, broken roads, speed bumps? That kind of thing. Does it smooth those out any?
  20. M

Tesla Y LR 11.5 rear width

To clarify, you have 4 wheels in that spec? Try it out to see if the wheel even bolts to the hub without spacers. Your next issue is going to be tire widths. 11.5” wide wheel would need a really wide tire. Either way, really nice wheels!

Looks like the pedestrian bridge is being prepped to install over the highway. No green transformers that I can see.

Car vibrates after installing aftermarket wheels and tires

I have the 18” version of these. They have pockets. No need to remove bolts. Mine are also proper centre bore, but they do sell multiple bore sizes.

Change of tyre pressure if using 255/50/19 107Y due to higher load rating

255/50R19 is for a 7”-9” wide wheel. The Appolo/Gemini is wheels are 9.5” wide. Not sure if that matters to you.

Anyone go to 18" wheel and tires?

Interesting take on the floaty feeling. I have some this on my 235/55R18 winter tires (Hakka R3 SUVs). 45 psi makes that feeling go away/acceptable.

    50 amp circuit

The plug has a sensor (probably a resistor) in it to tell the mobile connector the max amperage it can pull. The Mobile connector will then tell the car that’s the max it can pull. Install the correct wiring, industrial grade 14-50R and 50A breaker (GFCI, I would imagine) and you’ll be fine...

It would depend on if that extra inch had you hitting the bump stops. In theory, it would be worse, but I don’t know in practice on this car.

From what I read, those shocks should do the trick. I’ve had custom valved KW V2’s on different cars in the past and I could change how the car felt quite a bit with those. Hopefully, these shocks do the trick for you.

It’s more about the range of performance that it provides rather than a singular movement. It also gets complicated by different wheel and tire combinations. I have been far down that rabbit hole. Haha. I have all kinds of sound deadening (CLD, MLV, CCF) and additional seals, 3/8” tubing in the hatch and PETG hatch stops. My winter tires are 235/55R18 Nokian Hakka R3 SUVs and they are annoyingly loud. They do ride a little better than the 19”...

Very cool. Will be interesting to see how you like the combination. I’m thinking of going with Michelin CC2 tires in the same size for my MY20 LR. The ride over broken asphalt roads in the city is driving me nuts with the factory 19” Procontact tires.
