    HELP!! 2023 MXP_7000MLIES_UI_a020 - Steering Assist Reduced.

On my pre-refresh X (which uses the same steering rack I believe, unless they've changed things since this summer to see if they'd changed parts from legacy to palladium cars) this code was happening intermittently and ended up being a failed steering rack, replaced under warranty (which on my...

Will Tesla Buildup Superchargers to Accommodate Anticipated Demand from Ford, GM, Rivian, and whoever else, Adopting NACS circa 2024/2025?

Charger congestion is also Tesla’s fault selling cars with *insert period of time* FUSC. We all thought that was over and then it keeps happening. Wonder how many cars they sell in Q4 or at the end of any quarter with FUSC perk kicked in…it has to be a lot But we have plenty in STL - it’s...

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

Fog lamps don't have to be separate lamps - plenty of vehicles have a fog lamp integrated in the main headlamp assembly, some Porsches, old VW's, Mercs etc. If it's done right, which there's no guarantee Tesla does anything right The extra inch is 100% bumper covers. Looks like interior...

2016 Model X in 2023? A few questions before I pass the event horizon.

Yes - if you're on the highway for sure. I think towing at city speeds has its own set of risks, but moment arm and mechanical advantage the trailer has over the car are the big ones there, and of course, you might be more likely to bend your frame in any evasive maneuvers above the weight...

2016 Model X in 2023? A few questions before I pass the event horizon.

The fun police are everywhere, beware Uhaul car hauler is Circa 2200lb. That year of Dakota without a drivetrain, probably 3000 or so So clearly you have died and are a ghost, because model X is only rated at 3500 on the 22’s, and so you died from towing that load Happy Halloween

Did slipstream wheels ever come in black from factory?

Yes, they were at one time or another available in black, gray, silver with dark inserts, and silver

Another Direct Model X vs. Rivian Comparison: My Personal Experience

Maybe Tesla would consider upgrading its hand controls to include some sort of lever to shift and/or operate wipers and turn signals to better compete with 3-rows from other companies, maybe as part of an option package or subscription? Dunno just thinking of things to try, don't even know what...

Suggestion on Model X LR vs Model Y Performance buying

If both are in budget and can both do what you need a car to physically be able to do, which one do you like driving better? Buy that one. The rest is just noise.

Does anyone have the Rivian suv?

Yep. Supercharger integration is coming but date TBD, otherwise a very solid alternative. More space, less infotainment-centric user experience (although annoyingly, still very screen-centered interface, they went halfway on this and it's not as good as Tesla's I don't think) But it's truly a...

lol at the ratio of wrong to right in that poll. Fanboys gonna fanboy
  15. R

    Deliveries of $80k X?

Yep. The shell game with dealers, banks, and manufacturers is one of the biggest businesses in the world and one of the reasons the dealership lobby is so powerful - the banks make a steady supply of money on those loans dealers take out to purchase inventory, and they're also secured by...

    Deliveries of $80k X?

They just have orders now, it would have been delivered the week after you ordered if you'd ordered pre-discount.

Or they won't advertise a discount and instead will offer screaming lease deals toward the end of the year or end of a model run.

    Model S&X Price Adjustments

With the EV9's frunk and performance targets, I still wouldn't say it's a direct X competitor, but then the doors won't bonk you on the head, so, potato potato. Definitely going to put a ceiling on anything electric with 7 seats.

Used options: Raven X or wait for refresh prices to drop?

I really like ours as a family hauler, despite its glaring flaws. I think patience is going to pay off for anyone looking to buy one of these in the foreseeable future, we are solidly back in good value for the dollar territory in the used $100k luxury car market at this point. 3-4 year old...

Used options: Raven X or wait for refresh prices to drop?

Yes, but how much slwoer depends if you have a Performance or not, wheel size, etc. I'd say plan for an extra 15 minutes per stop compared to a 3LR. The big battery means you can take a lot of energy with you on the first leg, 200+ miles on the first leg at legit highway speeds is no problem...
  23. R

Used options: Raven X or wait for refresh prices to drop?

Depends if you're going to road trip a lot. The charging capability is a huge difference. If you're not, my preference would be the nicest Raven Performance I could find

Sad about Plaid? Attention past or present Porsche 911 Owners!

I am watching the electric boxster/cayman with a great deal of interest. If it's available in a reasonably fun, rear-drive, sub-3500lb package, I think I'm going to fully enter my midlife crisis era. I don't need 10 second 1/4 miles but I do want somebody besides Tesla and BMW (Mini SE) to...

Sad about Plaid? Attention past or present Porsche 911 Owners!

I've tried and failed to like almost every generation of 911, I haven't tried the 992 or the 930 yet, but I've tried at least one trim of the rest and we just don't get along. I like them, I'd rather have a 911 than a Camry, and if the only "fun cars" available on earth were 911's I'd still...

Thinking to back out from my MXLR order after doing extensive readings here, thoughts?

once they started showing up in ponds and driving through people’s front windows I was like “Tesla is going to make it” lol

Thinking to back out from my MXLR order after doing extensive readings here, thoughts?

Yep. At $80k base, $90k for never-before-seen-in-a-3-row-vehicle performance trim, it's a pretty good value I think. If you compare it against, say, the Porsche Cayenne, you get a significantly more spacious, faster car for about *half* the cost of the high-performance trims. When Plaid was...

Thinking to back out from my MXLR order after doing extensive readings here, thoughts?

Sounds like you're using this as a family beater, and that's what we've done - 39,000 miles on the X in under 3 years of ownership, the fastest I've put miles on any vehicle I've ever owned with the exception of my college-commuter Civic. I have HW3 and a Legacy X, so I'm not exactly apples to...

    Model S&X Price Adjustments

It’s been clear for literally decades that luxury cars are marked up by huge amounts They will sell you a Macan for twice as much money as a mechanically identical SQ5 because it has a Porsche badge. Then in 3-4 years it’s lost an SQ5 worth of “value”. Except not really, because the value was...

Word. Our X is the family appliance, it does that job well, it makes the dad/chief mechanic/fleet manager's job easier day-to-day (total I've avoided almost a day sitting at a gas station compared to our typically circa 18-mpg V8-powered gas cars!), and it holds all six large mammals in our...

2019 mid-Raven update - battery code and drive train.

-E was the earlier code, H and G's didn't start until 2020 builds IIRC. There have been some instances of E code batteries needing replaced after popping a failure during supercharging or soon after, there are a few threads on the boards, but doesn't seem to be a "definitely going to happen"...

Model X price cuts- yet again

Finally back to Q3 2020 pricing, but better, because free colors and such, and the Plaid is now significantly *cheaper* than a Performance was in 2020. Wild. 90,000.00 american dollars for the fastest-accelerating 6-seat wheeled vehicle ever sold anywhere, ever, by anybody. What a world

    2019 & 2020 Model X range?

Also, because of all the glass and the size of the damn thing, it really helps to have AC off and go shop or whatever if it's hot out. Like, expect it to take 10-15 minutes longer from 10 to 70% if you're trying to supercharge at 95 degrees out in the sun while watching netflix
  38. R

    2019 & 2020 Model X range?

About 35 minutes to add 60%, depending where you start. 15 minutes to add 30%, give or take. Slower charging compared to a Model 3, but 30% is about 100 miles city/75 miles highway. Probably pretty close on range per time spent at the charger to a SR+

Reuters: "Tesla readies revamped Model 3 with project 'Highland' -sources" [projected 3rd quarter 2023]

This is not true. X upper opening is ducted/sealed somewhat to provide flow to the radiator, at least on the legacy cars. you can feel airflow through it when the fans are on, and it's pretty obvious when the front bumper is off and/or when you have the frunk trim out. It may not matter for...

Raven model x performance vs LR+ range

I'd expect them to be closer on the highway under light loads where the front motor is doing most of the work. Under city driving conditions, the Perfornce cars seem to bias a lot more oomph to the back than my Long Range, makes it feel like more of a rear-drive vehicle, but that also means a...

New Standard Range Model X and Model S - what's in the battery pack?

Long Range is 11% more money for 40% more range and 30% better acceleration...costs the same to insure, costs the same to charge, tires cost the same, etc. etc. I don't get it unless there's a price cut coming to snag tax credits

New Standard Range Model X and Model S - what's in the battery pack?

Considering you can take delivery next month, I think they're just software locking them. I guess we'll find out, but they can do the software lock with almost zero validation other than making sure the throttle/stability control maps work at reduced power. seems unlikely they'd engineer a...
