What rebate are you talking about? The prices are “normal” the plaid is a 90k car. The long range is a 75k car. Sales haven’t exactly exploded since the price drop which means they’re right where they need to be with the price to continue selling at a steady rate.

Probably not. But don’t discount the psychological difference, a 2024 will hold value better than a 2023 because no one is going to care that a 2023 was a few days short of becoming a 2024. All they’ll see is a car thats “a year” newer.

None of the other automakers are under the microscope to deliver as many units as possible. The model s was over priced at 100k for a long range. It’s not a 100k car, the price was adjusted with the market. And yes I have seen dealers tack on 15-20 grand on top of MSRP anytime a hot in demand...

Dropping prices, pissing off current owners, how exactly are those two things “all about $ and nothing else”? The price of the car fluctuates with the market. If demand is hot, Tesla takes advantage, when demand is low they can’t afford to keep building cars and piling them up in storage lots...

40k price drop is a meaningless number without knowing the profit margin per vehicle. Tesla could have been bending the customers over and cashing in on every penny they could while the market was hot. The market has cooled off significantly, Tesla had no choice but to adjust accordingly.

I’m not so sure Tesla cares about having “flagship” models. If they did, they’d fix the vibration issues their “flagship” models are experiencing.

That’s a Tesla Roadster, not sure what you mean by “smelly, noisy and slow dinosaur car” it’s actually pretty quick, very quiet and not old enough to be referred to as dinosaur. As far as smelly, I wasn’t there so I can’t comment on how it smells.

Not all insurance companies pay for a “replacement” what they pay you is market value of the vehicle and the market value has taken a major hit. since they are completely upside down on the loan, the market value amount might not be enough to cover the balance of the loan, and with no gap...
